ABOUT DIFF'RENT STROKES: Whatchoo talkin' bout Willis? Gary Coleman became a child superstar playing the lovable, mischievous Arnold in this comedy series that brought issues of race and class into American living rooms in the ‘70s and ‘80s. @Classic TV Rewind I could swear there is a scene near the ending of this episode which is now missing and takes place the morning after where Willis vanishes and Mr. Drummond, Misses Garrett, Kimberely and Arnold are looking for him? And that is why Mr. Drummond is so surprised to see or find Willis in the bathtub?🤔📺🤨🤷

Yep. This show was dope.
Me, I love tv shows from the 60's and 70's.
Yup
My childhood drama Webster 😍
✌🏿😩 was just watching Good Times.
Todd and Gary should have won Emmys! Best child actors ever!
I think they did, didn't they?
Todd Bridges said he spoke to Conrad Bain the day before he died at 89. What a relationship to keep in touch with him after all those years since the show was over ❤️🙏🏼
Can't believe Todd Bridges is the only surviving cast member. Great show. Loved it.
Interesting..
Gary Coleman was a child prodigy! His presence, confidence and comedic timing is genius in a child's body! RIP Gary. 😥
He was already an adult by this show I believe. I think he was 19

I loved it when I saw it in the late 90s.
God bless Mr. Drummond. If more people like him were in our society, things would be much better.
Todd Bridges said that Conrad Bain was much like his character in the show. He said Conrad was more of a father to him than his own father. What a legend.
@@Kaboomboo he sure did say that on and off film he was his dad felt just like his dad
If more people were like Phillip Drummond, Mike Brady, Ward Cleaver, Danny Tanner, Uncle Phil, Carl Winslow, or Paul Hennessey, the world would indeed be a different place, filled with so much love and understanding.

“She better not mess with me, or else I’ll reach up and belt her in the knee” 😂 Gary Coleman came out the gate swinging this show broke barriers back in the 80s, fantastic sitcom
People underestimate the impact which this show had on culture. I watched this while living in apartheid South Africa, and many people, black and white started to believe in different possibilities.

He was such a good character. A very good father and overall person. And he played the straight character perfectly on this show, allowing Gary Coleman to say all his lines.
Him and Uncle Phil were the best TV dads. :)
He kept good on his word to Mother Jackson
RIP, Conrad Bain, Charlette Rae, Gary Coleman, And Dana Plato, I remember watching this show in reruns, It's a good show.

If we had more shows like this today there would probably be better people in the world.
Singer Alan Thicke Robin Thicke Daddy.
Damn, you're right. Such a wholesome show with such a checkered history. I feel the worst for Gary Coleman. He was so good and so iconic that he couldn't shake the Arnold character. Dana Plato's life was sad too.
many kids from the 70s and 80s were abused from their coworkers or even their own family (exploitation for the money that made parents rich).Put drugs into that mix and their lives went into a crazy down spiral.
It’s amazing how well Gary Coleman delivered those lines.
Tv doesn’t change people
The way he kisses them at the end seems so genuine and doesn't even feel it was acting ❤
He was a genuine positive person.. if only it could be everywhere.. strange feeling i' m so happy and so sad by the same time
Yes, Todd Bridges has said several times that Conrad Bain was more of a father to him than his real father
O boy I got wet
All of the people in the opening-scene are gone now, except for Todd Bridges. This show was a phenomenon almost instantly & will always have a special-place in my heart. ☮️

Aah, the nostalgia.
Knight Rider, Colombo, It Takes A Thief, Banacek, Mannix, Mork & Mindy, Little House On The Prairie...
The list is almost endless.
How did we lose our innocence?
Where did all the fun go?
Where are the neighbors that were more than family?
The class teachers who were more like mothers and fathers.
And classmates who were more than brothers and sisters.
The friends who'd stay in your house for days, if you're sick.
I sometimes weep when I see the hate and extremes that I see almost everywhere.

Thank you so much for uploading this video! I’ve always said I totally miss the 80s and 90s sitcom‘s. While watching this one, I remember that so many of the sitcoms and even cartoons of the 80s always seem to have a lesson to be learned by the end of the show.
One big reason Different Strokes is a classic is due to the show's characters feeling just like family. Mr Drummond was just like that excentric uncle we all have, Arnold and Willis just like your cool cousins and Kimberly is like that older cousin we all had a crush.
One of the Greatest shows ever. Also showing the humanity of all people in the greatest light. Unity and mutual understanding. Acceptance and Love. Fatherhood and righteousness. All things missing and deliberately removed/destroyed in “modern” tv and movies.
It also taught kids important life lessons so they were better prepared to deal with certain social issues when they’re older.
Kids now aren’t being taught about these issues and when they arise they don’t know how to deal with them.
Then why are so many people complaining about diversity if unity and inclusion is so important?
Great family show. When it first started. I'll admit I really thought that Arnold and Willis Jackson were going to leave. Glad they stayed.
Todd Bridges wished my mom a happy birthday
