- I went to Steelville to ride and film the Water Moccasin trail instead I created a new challenge at the Hub and I called it "The Hub Challenge."
Steelville is located about 90 miles southwest of St. Louis, Missouri, or a 1.5 hour drive via I-44 and Highway 19. The town is known as the “Floating Capital of Missouri”, featuring several waterways that wind through the Ozark foothills, attracting paddlers, campers, and outdoor enthusiasts from all over the country.
Mountain bikers have been making their way to Steelville for years to ride the Berryman Trail, a 26.5 mile IMBA Epic loop within the Ozark Trail. With the addition of flowy gravity-fed trails, we hope to give riders a more diverse riding experience and opportunities to progress their riding ability.
The entrance to the park is located at the corner of Hickory Street and Gridley Street. Take the gravel road that leads to the water tower and the new animal shelter site (currently under construction). Drive about a quarter mile heading east past the water tower and animal shelter building, and you will see a parking area and trail head kiosk on your left. We ask that you avoid driving the steep section of gravel road between Steelville City Hall and the trail head. While driving or riding through residential areas, please be respectful, keep your speed low, and be cautious of children playing.
Steelville Bike Park is a free-to-ride public mountain bike trail system located in Steelville, Missouri. Started in 2021 through cooperation with the Steelville MTB Collective and the City of Steelville, it currently features 5 purpose-built directional downhill lines ranging from beginner to advanced, and a climb trail to take you back to the top. On November 5th and 6th of 2022, two new directional trails will be opening to the public.

Love the perseverance and dedication to our craft. It’s amazing how a loose helmet strap can affect someone’s balance. 😄
🤣 😂 Thanks for putting a smile on my face this morning @Graham Bullman! I really enjoyed your comments!!
These are fun challenges for everyone in the Show Me state. Woohoo! Great job Jens ✌ Show us more
Hey Tony, these challenges are good for those people visiting Missouri, too! Hint, hint 🤣. You know I'll keep my eyes open for other ideas!! Stay safe and enjoy the ride 😉
Cleaned it! Nice!
Hey @Jim Connelley, thank you! I hope you're doing well!!
That’s the way to work a line! Nice job
Thanks a bunch @Chris Kuehn! I had a great time trying to complete this little challenge. 😊 👍
Making us proud. 👍😁
Thanks @White Bread! I do my best! Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't 🤣 😊
Enjoyed watching you try to figure out how to get through the end of that first challenge.
You seem to enjoy putting yourself to the test each time, I think we enjoy watching you sweat too!
Like you always say, get out and do it, if you can.
Thanks for commenting @Air Engine Research! I really do enjoy trying to put puzzles like this together. It's a lot of fun, and I'm happy to hear you enjoyed watching this one!!
awsome job. i"m 65 still peddling
Thanks so much @Richard Beck! I'm happy to hear you are still out there doing your thing! I hope 2023 is good to you 😊 🍻
Old Man Fat Bike never disappoints, looks like a field trip Friday challenge for me in the future (lol).
Thanks @Zipp 2001! Whenever you're ready to make the trip I'll join you!! ✌️
Hey Jens, you crazy guy! 😁Nice clip. In Germany there is a saying: practice greates masters. (Übung macht den Meister) You have to keep trying until it works. Keep it up.
Bike on 🤘😎😁
Hi Steve! We have a similar saying here in the USA. We say "practice makes perfect". If you say ' practice makes perfect', you mean that it is possible to learn something or develop a skill if you practice enough. People often say this to encourage someone to keep practicing. It may not be perfect but I eventually get it accomplished. Have a great 2023!!
Woo hoo nailed it!! and with your new skid lid as well. Have a great one.😉
Hey, hey there @Jim Thielen! Yup, I finally got it done and I even learned something. What it was, I don't remember?? 😊 😂 🤣
I really feel it. Sometimes it's the small things, like a loose helmet strap, a cap visor a little to much in your sight, a lightly to tight shoelace, you name it, and you can't get a trick done. You fix it and there it is, DANG!
Nice job, Jens, as usual!
You got that right @Dogtown_survivor!! Thanks for your in depth comments! I appreciate you 🙂 👍
Old man fat bike ♥️♥️♥️💪💪💪😊👍👍👍
Thank you @pascal cannamela! Your comment was the very first one on this video!! Stay well brother 😊
Love it , great run .
Thanks for checking this out @Fatbike Addiction and for your comment!!
Good to see you again Jens. I have you on subscribe * all notifications & for some reason was not getting notifications. Anyway happy to see you again 🙂
Thanks, Scott, for catching up on my vids! Something must be going on with CZcams. My father said the same thing about not getting notifications about my uploads. 😉
Planned on hitting this trail on my trip in a couple weeks
Hello my friend, a pleasure to greet you again, remember me? i am Mario, we met him in Cozumel, Mexico, my rabbit slippers girlfriend
Hi @mario manuel Medina! I do remember you, you're a nurse correct? Thanks for stopping by to check out my videos! I also appreciate you leaving me a comment!! Take care 😊✌️
I was rootin' for ya! Now I'm thinking of building something like that out of logs on my mini trail.
Thanks for cheering me on @James Jacobsen! I appreciate your comments. I think building a feature out of logs similar to the feature shown in the video is a great idea! I'd love to see it once it's completed 😉
Great video if I tried it would be more broken bones to my large collection
Hey thanks @Brad Bell! I don't think there's any need to add to that collection 😊 🤣
Buckled helmet, no excuses!!😂 Missing the dirt trails here in CO. Looks like a great place to get some sessioning in, well done!
Howdy @Elevation Every Weekend!! Thank you for taking the time to let me know your thoughts. Those buckles can really wreak havoc on your balance and muscle memory 🤣
Thanks for sharing your ride. I hope I can do that very soon. Ride safe always.
Hey @Roam Survivor! Thanks for checking out my little corner of CZcams!! I hope you get a chance to give this challenge a go too, I appreciate your comment 😉
@@OldManFatBike for sure I will try that one. But I have to lose more weight so I can lift my bike. When I try to bunny hop only the front wheel are lifting. 😀
Good luck with your weight loss @Roam Survivor!! ✌️
@@OldManFatBike thank you very much!
I respect you, because you are still trening.
Awe, thank you so much for checking out this video! I love your comment @intruder_ua!! Take care out there 🙌😎✌️
Awesome. Some of the best riding is coming up with challenges like that and working to complete them. Well done Jens. You are so much better at skinny's and skinny jank like that than me. You will have to challenge me next time we ride.
Thanks Rico! I expect the challenge to challenge you after I complete the challenge that challenged me! After that you can challenge me with something that challenged you! 🙌 🫠 🤣 😂
@@OldManFatBike LOL. Challenge accepted.... I think??
!!!! LMAO !!!!
Another lovely edit, at another lovely spot. It's that kind of spot which I like to ride, too... to bad it's a good bit to far away from my home... 😁 I would like to give it a go. ❤
Hey there Ulrich, thank you for your comment! I'm sure if Germany were a bit closer to Missouri you'd enjoy giving this challenge a go!! I hope you have a great 2023 🍻
Dude, I love your channel. And you have one sweet bike. But that freewheel sounds like a swarm of angry bees behind you.
I'm happy to hear you 🩵my CZcams channel, Rick! I really enjoy riding my Fatty every chance I get! Yup, that Industry Nine rear hub does make some noise 😂🤣
Thanks a bunch for your comments @RickOsborn1987!!
Rode water moccasin once, and it bit me really hard. I panicked right as I was going over the log and went right over the handlebars. Bleeding bad enough people were asking if I needed an ambulance
Oh man, sorry to hear that @Rob Frank! Hopefully you didn't get seriously injured. The chest cam footage was from the first time I ever rode Water Moccasin and the second time I rode it was the rear camera view. I didn't use any footage from the third ride. That log drop is in a funky location because you need to make that immediate 90 degree right turn and it catches you off guard. At least the next time you send it you'll have a better idea what needs to be done. Thanks for checking out this video. Stay safe out there Rob!! 😊✌️
PS: The start cracked me up with the hands popping up!
Awesome, it worked!! I like to keep people guessing when I can Rico 😉
I would try the challenge, but it’s 700 miles away from me.
Bummer @Paul Dads!! Well, if you're ever in the neighborhood 😉 ✌️
Nice bike and excellent video, how long have you been doing your channel, I have been at this channel for 2 years and have struggled for subscribers. looking at your video I need to be more creative with my content.
Hey there @Explore with JR the Journeyman! Thanks for checking out my tiny corner of CZcams!! I started my channel about 7 years ago. It has grown but very slowly. When I watch a video I like, I ask myself many questions as to why I like it. I think creativity and multiple angles have helped my channel grow. Basically I make my videos like the ones I enjoy watching! I hope that helps and I wish you success on your channel brother 👍😉
@@OldManFatBike Thanks for the tips, I have to loosen up let the fun show through and be more creative with the b roll. I also have to find the right niche. I watched a couple of how to grow your channel videos and I started a second channel a couple of months ago Bikepacking over 50 I put condensed versions of the bikepacking videos I have here on that channel. I plan to just use this channel for all the non biking stuff I like to do, show shoeing and camping. I will see how it goes.
