He’s very informative and I enjoy watching his videos but for any of us older people out there doesn’t his voice resemble Casie Kasem while his looks reminds me of one of the Bee Gees... lol.. not an insult cause I always enjoyed listening to them as well . Keep up the great videos man!! I’m just jealous cause I can’t grow hair anymore lmao 😂
Coming up next on Creality Bedstand... 😂
Oh snap, now that you mention his voice, oh yes!
I've said the same in other comments
Man i have to say, this is probably the best "how to" 3d printing channel. There is just something with "older" people that they explain everything clearly and properly. Its often i watch a video and end it with more questions than i had before the videom but now that i found your channel i find everything i need and alot more info i could need.
Oh and there was a long time i wondered why people dont use a leveling tool to level until you explained that its not actually leveling but making the bed paralell with the nozzle 😅. Now it makes alot more sense
I'm loving this firmware. Thank you for highlighting it and doing your install video. Just switched from tevo printers to ender and your videos have been a great help!
Your videos are great, I love the detail and the pace. Now have my ender 3 v2 behaving again thanks to you!!
I'm LOVING your videos SO MUCH, especially now that I got my V2 assembled. This UI looks fantastic. I'm definitely going to join your Patreon and even consider Jyers and Marlin! Thanks!
Bryan, thanks for posting your videos on CZcams, always informative, and you make it easy to learn new stuff to help with running a 3d printer. I have a suggestion for a future video. It's possible to take an Ender 3 pro and convert it to using the V2 screen instead of the stock screen. One thing I haven't seen a lot of information on is the fact that if you do this you can then install and run the JyersUI firmware on it as well, providing you have a 4.2.x or newer mainboard. I decided to try the process and it was super simple to do. Doing a video for this conversion might be a good one to do to help folks out.
I really enjoy referring to your videos. I'm new to printing and you're making the process much easier, thank you!
I was not ready for the hair. Magnificent
One of the top presenters on YT for 3D printing. Speaks very clearly. Gets straight to the point. Explains what needs to be explained. No BS. Love the links to related videos, the sample STL file and the firmware downloads.
This was such a useful video! Thanks very much. I too had the same problem of a quite pronounced dip in the middle of my Ender3 V2 bed and even levelling the sides meant that prints in the middle kept lifting off. After installing the Jyers firmware and following your instructions, the prints are perfect!!!!
Can't wait to get mine and get all this set up. Thank you for posting this video.
Many thanks BV. I've been very happy with the JyersUI software, which I installed shortly after your video. In particular the way it captures BLTouch failures. Marlin had often (4 or 5 times) notified me that the BLTouch sensor had mis-fired by letting the Z stepper motor skip as it tried to push the nozzle through the build plate. Jyers just stops everything and puts a notification on the display. Love the auto meshing too, and the visualization of the leveling results. I had an issue with the left side being lower than the right. This feature helped me see (and correct) the problem.
Super good video.
I've watched your previous video about the JyersUI and I am finally ready to upgrade the firmware, but seing this video I feel comfortable enough to upgrade it with the ManualMesh version.
Many thanks!
You've got yourself a new follower :)
So glad I found you sir. Love your tutorials. Keep them coming please.
For clarification I’m trying to use the term “tramming” instead of “manual bed leveling” going forward, so you may notice that difference after Jyers UI is merged into the main fork.
@@puretoronto I’m the friendly neighborhood project administrator of Marlin Firmware. But it was originally created in 2011 by Erik van der Zalm and others as a mashup of Grbl and Sprinter for Ultimaker and RepRap 3D printers.
I have been screaming this at almost every video I see (Out loud not online) :) Thank you
Excellent video. Answered all the questions I had before starting this process!
Thank you so much for introducing me to the Jyer's UI for the Ender 3 v2. It really makes the printer much easier to use. I downloaded the 5x5 manual mesh version and it's working great. I've had to do some trial and error to get it tuned but I'm making progress. I'm an American residing in Ecuador. When I go back to the U.S. for the holidays I'm going to get a CR Touch to automate the process of fine tuning the leveling of the bed, but the manual mesh is a great help. Thanks again.
Just did this on both my Ender3v2s - worked perfectly! Thanks
Bought an Ender 3 V2 last weekend and I'd have been so lost if I hadn't found your videos Bryan. Thank you for the amazing content and being such an awesome educator!
Thanks for watching the videos! I'm glad they were helpful! 😊
I enjoyed this video a lot! Can you explain more on setting of Z offset toward the end of this video? What value did you choose and why? Thanks!
Same, this why i watched the vid but the z set explanation was brief
Thanks Bryan, I have done this on my Aquila using Alex’s latest firmware, it has worked well and my bed is now perfectly level.
Great video Bryan! Very nice thing to link their Patreon page!
Hi Bryan, many, many thanks for this awesome video. I was sttruggling to get my bed leveled and almost gave up on it. It turned out that I have a bump in the middle of my bed, so until I found this video it was a matter of choosing between nice prints in the middle and not so good bed adhesion outwards or good adhesion everywhere and in the middle everything squished to the bed like crazy. (I couldn't get my products from the bed unless using brute force) Now, with the level mesh I have very nice prints all over the bed. I have ordered a BLTouch already and I wil install it, but this method already works perfectly.
I just started working with the Ender 3 v2 and this video along with the predecessor one on the JyersUI saved the device from a watery grave in the lake. Thank you!
I'm so glad I found this channel! Great info!
took me a year to finally watch this. GOOD JOB!
Yes! Been waiting for this vid!
This is THE best 3D printing channel. Thanks Bryan!
you my guy have taken all my frustration away with this info. i got rid of the bl touch and followed this video and after weeks of trying to get stuff printing correctly i finally have a working printer with great results.
A lot of your videos have been really helpful to me, thanks a lot!
Thank you very much, Agustín!
Hi Bryan, Video as always is excellent and very easy to understand :) Keep up the good work Sir.
Today was the day I decided to upgrade to JyerUI firmware. Your video was great it made me feel comfortable upgrading my firmware and the screen firmware. I've been running the stock frimware for last nine months. It was working good for me too. I like the new upgrade it seems to be working great. I also installed a homemade filament sensor and activate it with a new firmware. Thank you.
Hi! That's pretty awesome, especially with the homemade filament sensor! 😃
Mr. Vines this video is simply one word.... AWESOME!!!!!
Very helpful and clear video. Thank you
I know this is an older video, but this was incredibly helpful. Most other tutorials about leveling just sort of gloss over the leveling process and don't even talk about manually setting up a mesh. I'm new to 3D printing, and was so frustrated I was about to throw my new Ender 3 V2 out of the window. lol Now things are printing incredibly well. Thanks very much for taking the time to make these videos.
Many thanks for the precise and very helpful instruction vlog on Manual Mesh Leveling for Ender 3 V2 ... you saved me a lot of time!
thank you my friend
I was almost a month without sleep
a command line changed everything
Just noticed that the BLTouch can be used by Jyers for the manual bed leveling! No need for sliding the paper around anymore
you still need to manually level the bed first
@@KingNothing22 yes, but you use the BlTouch to do the manual bedleveling, instead of using the paper or Post-it. That was my point. The BLTouch probes the corners and guide you to turn the levelings knobs up or down.
Between the silicone spacers, nyloc nuts, and 5x5 manual mesh in Jyers, my leveling/tramming issues have been gone for months. Best upgrades I made on my Ender 3 v2.
Nicely done sir!
DUDE! I'm using this firmware and despite trying a bazillion times to use mesh leveling, your video taught me how to do it the good way! For whatever reason, since the mesh leveling process starts at Z=0.2, I assumed (wrongly) that I need to get a 0.2mm gauge and adjust the microsteps so in that particular point the nozzle is low enough to grab the feeler gauge. I was so wrong! I need to use the thinnest one I have (0.01 AFAIR) so that I'm leveling as near 0 as possible.
Thanks a lot! You've just gained a sub. Keep up the great work! Woohoo!
Not quite up to the confidence of changing much on my new ender3 v2 yet but find your videos very good put mine together with your instructions and it seems to be working a treat got a few issues but I think it will be just time before I am getting to a higher level
I am so sick of CZcams unsubbing me. I've had to resub you for the third time now. 😉
Why does CZcams hate me so? Haha! Thank you for continuing to resubscribe! 👍
Great video. Everything is clear up until you start talking about z-offset. There you totally lost me. Why do you need any Z-offset if you've adjusted all the points individually? What kind of z-offset adjustment do you make and how do you figure that? Thanks
I just watched and have the same exact question!! Further explanation would be appreciated, amazing and informative video regardless! :D
@@mowtown2496 and he don’t answer us. Making money off us watching but won’t explain.
@@dugy40 calm down. I'm sure he is a busy dude.
@@mowtown2496 busy making money off us clicking his videos. I don’t see him interacting with anyone. The other creators do. Chep for example.
Yes - please explain th z-offset - thanks :)
You're simply incredible, I couldn't do it, but after following your instructions on G-CODE and Z-offset, everything was perfect. Man, thank you so much!!! Very much
Great Videos you make, got it up and runing thanks 2 you it works like a charm🙂
Thank you! This is very useful.
It would be cool to go over all of your upgrades on the ender v2. I love how your ender v2 looks. Thanks
Remember to turn off "skirt" and "brim" in your slicer before you print the big flat square!
Thanks so much for your explanation.
Awesome video thanks again!
thank you so much! i cant explain how hard i have been trying to level my bed for the longest time with achieving no success, finally i figured out that my bed is warped from factory. and watching this tutorial, not only i was able to level my bed properly but upgraded my printer aswell with more features.
I GOT A HARD ON WATCHING MY TEST PRINT COME SO SMOOTH.
The best video, just genius.
Really good video! Got a new sub
Great and usefull instructive videos, thanks
im not the super awesome person, man, you are. Im enjoying watching these videos so much just because of you and the relaxed and friendly personality you have. The firmware is a bonus too, but you're the real treasure O:)
The hair has it's own character xD. Very nice mane.
bryan eres el mejor !! un gran abrazo desde argentina y muchas gracias por compartir tus conocimientos y con tanta buena onda. GENIO!!
Thanks for the video mate.
No problem 👍
Thank you very much for this video, maybe i can finally get my first successful print :)
Awesome job buddy
Thanks!
So I need to leave my comment and thank you Bryan for this tutorial and your video on updating the firmware to the JyersUI. Beginner's advice from my experience:
The CR Touch is not such a necessary upgrade, but it helps so much ONLY when you understand how to manually level your bed, calibrate your printer and use the JyersUI features for manually trimming which are a Godsent. Thanks again Bryan!!!
Hi Angel! You are very welcome - I'm glad this helped!
You're the best man 👍
How do I get my head to 3d print hair like yours does?
Avoid scissors? That's my secret. 😁
Thank you. As a brand new Printer, I relied heavily on your videos to get my creality set-up this week-end. After having my BL Touch inexplicably break its probe on the side of the bed twice in my first four prints, I'm thinking of ditching it entirely and going with this firmware and leveling method instead.
Hi there. Thanks a lot ! Your videos are awsome for a new guy in 3D prnting. I've finally managed to get that bed leveled correctly and it greatly improved the quality of my prints and my overall experience... Also have you ever heard of the Z axis not hitting the limit switch when homing? I need re-home it several times before it trigs the limit switch. I own a Crealty Ender 3 V2 and every other limit switch works properly for homing their axis. Thanks.
Love the video! Celebrating my 1 month anniversary with my E3v2 and this really explains alot! I now have the 5x5HS version installed (and working correctly) and it has made a BIG difference. Thinking about dropping down to 3x3 to start printing faster. Quick question, what does the 'Viewer Asymmetric' option do and how is it enabled? Keep these awseome vids rolling and looking forward to more BV3D!
You dont have to probe the bed before each print! Just retrieve the mesh from eeprom in the start code.
great video bryan
Thanks! 😀
Thank You!
Your videos have been so informative and helpful. Can you do a video on the dual z-axis upgrade from creality for the v2? Are there benefits to this?
Good video that, to the point and spot on. Maybe setting up a BLtouch next please?
I don't hardly ever move my printers once they're installed, so I have been using manual mesh levelling since it was introduced in Marlin. No need to go through the rigamarole of setting up a BLTouch or inductive probe. Like Ron Popeil says "Just set it....and forget it!"
The nice thing about a bltouch is that it easily allows you to change print beds without having to re-level. To me, that's the biggest advantage. You still want to level your bed as good as possible manually.
Great info. Thanks...
Hey Bryan, I am already a follower of your channel and have learnt a lot since jumping into the 3D printing just a month ago.
Let me tell you that I had been struggling to understand Manual Mesh bed leveling and your video (as usual) is the best in explaining the concepts as well as the steps needed. I just found out that JyersUI might not be a supported firmware anymore and going forward I am hearing that Mriscoc Professional is the firmware of choice for Ender 3V2.
Could you please do a video showing step by step procedure on that firmware as well? Or is it going to be the same as JyersUI?
Thanks and keep up the great work.
Really useful tutorial for leveling and setting up Manual Mesh. One question I have is if you are using a feeler gauge instead of a piece of paper for the manual mesh setup, should you do anything different? I used one and my values were all much closer to .20 it starts you off with then what yours gets to. Also I printed the square that takes up most of the bed and it looked good at first but when trying to peel it off, all the individual diagonal strands separated. Is that because my bed is still too far from nozzle or just a byproduct of the one layer print?
Great video
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Thanks!
You bet! Thanks for the Super Thanks! 👍
The Z offset adjustments at the end came out of nowhere. Could you elaborate a bit more on that.
Awesome videos, I'm looking to get an ender 3 v2, I got it all except the Z-offset Squish factor, how does that work?
What are you trying to do when you adjust the Z-offset?
Could you please explain what is the purpose of adjusting the z-offset, after we have leveled the bed?
GREAT! thank you so mutch, super clear also for me, new to the 3d print world.
Do you have collected all the settings and upgrades for the Ender 3 v2?
thks
Thx for the video =)
Thank you ❤️👍
You're welcome 😊
Hi Bryan- thanks for your vids! I've had a ender 3 v2 for a few weeks now, and with your help I have the jyers firmware/UI and everything is mostly working fantastic. I've done both manual and mesh leveling. Some of the more intricate things I try to print like things with gears, etc are still failing due to bottom layer squish / elephant foot / binding. Have you done any videos that address this? Also, it would be awesome if you could further explain the Z offset towards the end of the video. Do you check/change this offset on every print? Does it need to be set back to 0.00 if you want to manually tweak the mesh levels, etc? Everything else in the video made perfect sense to me except for that little bit on the z-offset! Thanks again!!
same here - awesome video but did not unterstand how Z offset works and why it has to be done at all...
@@jenswarth1672 anyone knows anytihng more about the z offset
The Z offset adjustment is used to 'offset' the thickness of the paper used when the bed was levelled.
@@jakewill8702 The z-offset moves the nozzle closer or further from the bed. When you are doing your first test you finetune that distance with z-offset to get optimal bed-nozzle distance.
@@jenswarth1672 It's not a necessity to do if you get it perfect. You just use it to adjust the bed nozzle distance if you feel you're to close/far. When i did this i was too close so i had to adjust like 0.4
In PrusaSlicer make sure you're set to Expert mode, this allows you to edit the G-Code
This video helped my first layer tremendously after manually setting the Z offset for each point. Any chance you might know why the fan settings I have set in the creality slicer are ignored when going to print? I have my initial fan speed at 5% with regular at 90 but they never turn on automatically.
Great Video i was actually waiting for the video but since learnt to do it myself its great to know i was right on target as a noob ;) But can you show the process before this one ?
placement of the Z axis switch knob height for beginners ?
As a noob I struggled with that as well! I even damaged my PEI as I was setting the Z-axis and then creating the mesh which now I know isn't the correct process :-(
Perfect.... Thx
Many thanks for your guidance! I have installed the firmware and everything is great except after power cycle the option "Auto leveling" in UI is allways off and I'm going to switch it on every time I power up the printer. I have tried several times to store the settings and while the manual mesh settings are remembered this exact setting is allways off at power up. Do the M420 S1 option overrides this? Thanks!
Can you do a video on what all the upgrades are on your ender 3v2 or what you recommend? I've seen lots of upgrades and I don't know what ones are worth my money or filament to print.
Just want to know, isn't that we shoudn't set the z offset to negative due to the limit switch already block the limit, if force to go further down will break the z limit switch or make gantry slain to right side ?
G'day Bryan....i recently purchased the Micro Swiss DD and hot end combo, plus i have a 24v 50w Slice Engineering Heater cart, not knowing how to set some of the firmware i followed your intro to JyersUI now. Its got all the you need for ender 3 v2, so ive just installed the hot end and will upgrade the DD later after ive played with the hot end...cheers for your tutorials m8 from Sunny Queensland downunder!!
Question : so just add that m420 code, and no need to tick "enable mesh leveling" option before print?
I've used mesh leveling before but didn't add any M commands in slicer, I kept going to level> tick the mesh leveling enable then print. Hmmm...
Thanks for explanation Bryan!
Can you make a sumarry of possible bed leveling methodes for the Ender 3V2?
I´m using a BL Touch and I´m happy with it.
Are there pros and cons for all the bed leveling methodes?
Nice. I'd been wondering how to do that. Question-- I use a 0.1mm feeler gauge for setting it manually. Should that initial gauge be a multiple of the Z resolution? If I use a 0.1 instead of 0.2mm gauge do I need to do anything else? Maybe using the 0.2 gauge is more logical. Thanks 👍😊
Ur the best!
Amazing video and THANK YOU. I JUST bought one of these for my woman's son and 1hr ago finished installing the Jyers Firmware. Unfortunately when I go to 'Create New Mesh' it simply goes to all 9 points and measures them without the ability to adjust each point. Then again, before I got to that point...I ran that option a few times and at measured the 1st point...then the 2nd and the bed was too high...gears ground and it stopped. Something similar several times until I got it to measure all 9 points. Anyway, I'm simply going to reset the config and go through this video. Unless something I did was obvious before I get to that point and read it here.
Hello Bryan, Thank you for such a informative video.
I have just purchased a Ender 3 V2 and first attempt ended with filament all over nozzel and threading all over the item I was printing
One thing I am not clear on with the levelling with the bltouch. Do you set the bed at fully tightened or loose?
You my friend are awesome. I watched the Jyers firmware video and got motivated to put the firmware on my printer after it has been sitting for about two months. That was easy peasy and now i feel confident in getting my bed level and getting my printer usable again. I'm no programmer and I've tried a few times to compile the Marlin from scratch but I kept getting errors and I think my VS code is set up incorrectly. Idk how that sorcery works so I gave up until your Jyers video popped up and I thought "what the hell, let's try it." Worked like a charm and my printer is currently making a mesh. Thinking of what to print my people for christmas. Thank you.
