    I use the Evolve2 85 throughout the week when traveling which is often. I've had hundreds of Teams meetings and calls in very noisy environments (airports, restaurants, taxis, etc). I exclusively use the boom mic and I've had a SINGLE issue where the meeting attendees heard background noise when I had the headset connected to my mobile phone. I disconnected, restarted bluetooth and everything worked great. No more background sounds. Both the Evolve65 and 85 have been exceptionally good. I would buy them again without hesitation and recommend them to colleagues.

      Does it pick up people talking near you? I keep finding headset reviews that cancels out noise but still picks up people talking. I work in a call center like office and have people sitting close to me also on the phone. Would this work blocking that out?

    Oh and note that when using the charge cord for audio use, it counts as a THIRD connected device, so you can have three different devices connected (one wired) and control them!

    Great video. On complaint 2 with audio being bad with active mic - the provided USB dongle does not get around that? Would be great to unpack this issue in another video - this was happening with a BOSE headset I was using over bluetooth.
    For me, I think I will wait until Jabra come out with the newer USB dongle you mention.

    I have my 85s since 2021 and they still going strong. Use them everyday... Not a single Mic problem, and literally never had any complaint about background noises during calls and I love having the dongle connected to my work laptop and BT to my phone.
    boom mic is really good. The built in aren't great but for quiet environments they do the trick.
    Honestly don't know what these people who complain about mic breaking and mic issues have being doing to theirs. Haha
    Also bought after watching a review from you guys way back then! Love the channel, cheers from Brazil! (and lastly, when are you bringing back the giveaways? 😂)

    I haven’t experienced the issues in Reddit, but my 85’s do screw up because of the on head sensor built into them, so I turn that feature off. My other main issue is that the mic monitoring of the headset DOES NOT use the boom microphone, only the ambient sound microphones in the cups. Makes hosting meetings with crying baby really hard (they don’t hear her, but I do since I have mic monitoring active. Note the 75 and later headsets (it’s newer then the 85) don’t do this… event the older 75 didn’t do this either, I’m not sure who was program lead on the 2 85, but they made some poor design changes compared to all the rest of their line!
    I still like them though, they are the most comfortable, and their transparency mode is superior to the 2 75 since they get MUCH louder than that head set!
    Great review man!!

    I had a Evolve2 85 when it was just released. I found it absolutely rubbish, didn't use for more than 2 months and ended up selling on ebay, it was rubbish. Then I tried the Microsoft Surface 2 plus, another piece of rubbish. Ended up going for Dect with a Yealink WH62, good, not great, the DECT range is not as good as my old Jabra Engage 65. That so far was the best one, but DECT is not for listening to music or active noise cancellation.

    I had jabra evolve2, perfect form factor. hideable boom mic, so i dont look like a dork on the bus., usb-c. over ear etc. BUT, it never worked with mic noise cancelling.. a big NO NO for me in a open office and datacenter noisy environment.
    people said it doesnt work with ANC plus mic noise cancelling at the same time, but my mic cancellation never worked regardless.

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor  Před 27 dny

      Agreed, if mic noise cancellation is biggest priority then there's others with a better performance in that category. Unless your call or meeting software has noise cancellation built in, or you get noise cancellation software like neep.com then you can get the full benefits of this headset in environments like an open office.

    These BT headphones make a lot of pain to PC users because of BT profiles.
    You have to switch between them manually as Windows often fail to auto switch.
    And you will suffer horrible quality of Handsfree BT profile.
    Can't find a replacement to my old Logitech H800.
    It has radio dongle with excellent microphone on PC.
    And I can switch between Phone (BT)/PC(Radio) connections.
    Modern BT headphones connect to two devices simultaneously and dingle you all the time with messages...

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts. If you connect only with the USB Dongle to your computer and not Bluetooth as well as USB Dongle there shouldn't be any issues.

      It's not impossible it could have been defective. But being that the microphone boom is shorter it doesn't give as good of voice quality as some others like the Evolve2 85, or give the Yealink BH70 a try.

    Wouldn’t it be better to test a bit more exhaustively before putting this video out there that you didn’t experience connectivity issues? Also reaching out to tech support is an absolutely pain.
    As an owner of the E2 65 Flex and 75 series they both cracked and connectivity issues from time to time in spite of staying on top of firmware updates. I have had no such issues with the Sennheiser SDW 5000 series

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor  Před měsícem

      It's a fair point but I've tested the Evolve2 85 enough over the years without any issue outside of the normal.
      I'm still testing it as we speak using it on Zoom calls, Teams meeting and Google Meet on a Windows laptop and I haven't had an issue with connectivity.
      I've found disabling "Intel smart sound technology" on Windows computers to fix a ton of connectivity issues.
      When you say reaching out to tech support is a pain, are you saying in general or with Jabra specifically? Jabra should cover things like cracked products due to physical defect.

    The testing you did proved the Evolv85 is the worst result… - recommend working out a deal with Sony to get a commission or higher commission from selling the 1000XM5 so you don’t have to recommend the inferior product

      @HeadsetAdvisor  Před měsícem

      Worse then Airpods Max? 🤔 Sony significantly improved microphone quality with the XM5 compared to the XM4, but both models remain best suited for personal audio on mobile devices. They aren't ideal for computer based work calls or meetings.
