    First of all, thank you for recording that tutorial as the DeLonghi manual can be a bit confusing sometimes.
    Just now, after watching your video I finally figured out why the descaling program did not work in my case as described by you and the manual.
    It turns out the water tank float was not attached in my unit, and as far as I can tell it's never mentioned anywhere in the manual as well(I just thought it might be a place to use for water pump attachment or sth like that). This prevented the coffee machine from measuring how much water was left in the tank which in turn stopped it from moving through the descaling program 👀
    I feel like such an idiot bc I had this issue for about half a year and was just about to send the unit for warranty repair 🤕

    Great Vid and explanation! Thanks for sharing as it is so straightforward and prevents one from having to dig out the instructions whether online or from a file full of all different manuals of all soughts of household devices.
    PS: FOR ALL WHO ARE OPTING TO BUY THE NEWER MODEL OF THIS MACHINE BE WARNED, IT ISNT OF THE SAME HIGH QUALITY!!!!!!!! ALTHOUGH IT HAS A DIGITAL SCREEN AND SHOULD BE MINIMUM OF THE SAME QUALITY IT ISNT. A BROTHER BOUGHT THE NEWER VERSION ONLY TO FIND THAT FOR INSTANCE; THE COFFEE BEAN CONTAINER LID NOLONGER HAS A RUBBER SEAL, THE PLASTIC OF THE CONTAINER IS OF A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT PLASTIC WHICH ALL LEADS TO THE ENTIRE MACHINE BEING SO MUCH LOUDER. AND SOME OTHER ANNOYING CHANGES REGARDING BUILD QUALITY.

    David, I'd just positively commented on your descaling vid and added some of our experience regarding the newer version of the device. Its really quite disappointing for my brother who had actually given me his older machine which is the identical model to yours after purchasing the new machine. Who would have thought the manufacturer opt to save production costs in such a blatent and obvious way?

    Hey, thanks for the great video. Ive had my coffee machine now for a couple months and love it. When it comes to cleaning, other than making sure all external components are clean, and descaled, do i need to be cleaning any inside parts that may be tucked away?

    • @davidnicholls344
      @davidnicholls344  Před 4 lety

      Behind the water cassette, open the little door and remove the mechanism that compresses the coffee before brewing. That needs to be completely immersed into water for at least 10 minutes, and then scrubbed clean. Behind the tray that catches the used 'pucks', pull that all out and clean with a dry cloth too.

    Is that descaling lamp turning on by default every couple of weeks? Or only if the system detects, that it needs to be cleaned? Like if I use pre-filtered water on a regular basis, can I skip this step, if the lamp comes on?
