  • In this video, we descale the Delonghi Magnifica 22.110.B automatic coffee machine using Delonghi's own descaling solution. This requires a soak, and two rinses. Follow along and stop the video or rewatch, to get all the steps. You can also follow directions down below.

    Important!
    Before use, read the instructions and the labelling on the descaler pack.
    It is important to use De Longhi descaler only. Using unsuitable descaler and/or performing descaling incorrectly may result in faults not covered by the manufacturer's guarantee.
    Descaler could damage delicate surfaces. If the product is accidentally spilt, dry immediately.
    Descale the appliance when the (6) M light «B5» «fig.34» on the control panel «B» flashes.
    Turn the machine on and wait until it is ready for use.
    Empty the drip tray «A17» and grounds container «A13» and return both to their positions in the machine.
    Empty the water tank «A9» completely and remove the water softener filter «(3» if present).
    Pour the descaler «C2» into the tank up to level A (corresponding to a 100ml pack) marked on the inner surface of the tank «fig. 35», then add a lite of water up to level B «fig. 36» and put the water tank back in the appliance.
    Place a container with a minimum capacity of 2 litres under the cappuccino maker «A18» and coffee spouts «A12» «fig. 37».
    Wait for the coffee lights to come on steadily.
    Press and hold the 2) If| button «B5» «fig. 38» for at least 5 seconds to confirm that you have added the solution and begin the descaling procedure. The light on the button comes on steadily to indicate that the descaling program has begun.
    The clil light flashes to indicate the hot water/steam dial «A19» must be turned to the I position.
    When the dial is turned to the I position, the descale programme starts and the descaler liquid comes out of the cappuccino maker and coffee spouts. A series of rinses and pauses is performed automatically to remove all the scale residues inside the coffee machine.
    After about 25 minutes, descaling stops and the aD and fb lights flash on the control panel. Turn the hot water/steam dial to the O position.
    The appliance is now ready for rinsing through with clean water. Empty the container used to collect the descaler solution. Extract the water tank, empty, rinse under running water, fill with fresh water up to the MAX level and put back in the appliance. The el light flashes.
    Place the container used to collect the descaler solution empty under the cappuccino maker and coffee spouts.
    Turn the hot water/steam dial to the I position to begin rinsing. Hot water is delivered first from the cappuccino maker, to continue and end with the coffee spouts.
    When the water tank is completely empty, the D and alb lights flash on the control panel. Tun the steam/hot water dial to the 0 position.
    Empty the container used to collect the rinsing water. Remove the water tank, replace the water softener filter (if removed previously), fill the tank up to the MAxlevel with cold water and insert in the appliance. The steam/light flashes.
    Place the container used to collect the rinsing water empty, under the cappuccino maker.
    Turn the hot water/steam dial to the I position. The aplliance begins rinsing again from the cappuccino maker only.
    When it has finished, the only steam light flashes on the control panel. Turn the hot water/steam dial to the 0 position.
    Top up the water tank with fresh water to the MAX level and put back in the machine.
    The descaling cycle is now complete.

    It is important to mention that in some Magnifica S machines, the manual only indicates to do one rinse only, and this is the problem that many people have.
    My machine was purchased on July 2023.

    Hi,
    Huge relief to find this vid rather than going thru the manuals once again.
    One question tho. The amount of water going thru the steam tap is maybe 90% of the total amount. I get very little going thru the “main tap”. Why is that?

    • @TomsCoffeeCorner
      @TomsCoffeeCorner  Před 10 měsíci

      Well, most machines let it go through the steam wand...it depends on the manufacturer, but a lot of them just do it that way. Maybe because it's the furthest path for the descaling water to pass through.

    • @TomsCoffeeCorner
      @TomsCoffeeCorner  Před 8 měsíci +2

      Haha, no coffee crema is a coffee with some crema on top. Espresso is something totally different. A coffee has a 15:1 ratio, extracted at like 3 bar on these machines, while an espresso as a 2:1 ratio, extracted at 8-9 bar. So the difference in taste and texture is immense.@@onimusha13

    Hi Tom, I have this machine, and Im getting different levels of espresso when I press the espresso button..The first pull seems to follow the level I have pre-set, and anything following would pull a lot more. Which part can I replace to get the levels the same on every pull? TIA

    • @TomsCoffeeCorner
      @TomsCoffeeCorner  Před rokem

      Well it has a water wheel inside, which is not super accurate. But if it's way off, then maybe that part is failing. I would just stop it manually though, if it was mine...

    Hello I found your vids searching for a solution on line I just got a delonghi magnifica evo I have everything setup it runs fine but the pucks are getting stuck in the infuser and not falling in to the puck tray I'm not sure what to do. no one seems to be having this problem. I suspect the infuser isn't pushing the puck up all the way so the arm can't flick it all off. Do you know what it could be?

    • @TomsCoffeeCorner
      @TomsCoffeeCorner  Před rokem

      Hi there! I have not ever run into that problem, and we’ve used this machine at work every day, for years. I would remove that cartridge and clean it, inspect it for any obvious issues like a broken spring or something. It sounds like the mechanism to push the puck away may be defective.

    • @TomsCoffeeCorner
      @TomsCoffeeCorner  Před měsícem

      Well, the machine decides itself where to output the solution and or rinse, so it might be part of the program. The models also slightly differ over time. Good luck!

    • @ninithealchemist

      yes the model was different and it needed two rinse, first from coffee tube and the second one from the steamer. after that it finished the program
