I've read a couple reviews and nobody seems to bring up the part I find so interesting about the film. The way no one screams or yells but you can see the fear in their eyes like a deer in headlights. This is truly filmed from the killer's perspective as he sees his victims as nothing more than animals, he doesn't feel or remember their emotions other than the eyes. Like he's in almost a catatonic state.
Excellent film! The cinematography alone is phenomenal, even by today's standards, let alone 1983. And the sound design, every footstep sends chills down one's spine. Love it!
I think i saw a part of this movie on tv when i was a kid and since then i've been thinking of the 3 images i saw. I finally found it with keywords "movie drown retarded bathtub". Anyways, can't wait to watch it properly
@@zappadoo9410 Not to me, it was pretentious, boring and unscary and about subtext then about story and characters! I'll take this anytime which has an actual scary killer and better directing/writing/characters
@@Johnlindsey289 it wasn't supposed to be scary its considered a dark comedy/ psychological thriller. I mean it's cool if it wasn't for you but I wouldn't say it was pretentious the movie didn't take its self that seriously
@@Johnlindsey289 angst is great don't get me wrong but they're two different genres, again funny games is a really dark comedy and I think going in to that movie with that mind set makes it better for sure but to each there own

I'm surprised they didn't lock the actor up after the movie was filmed. He's so convincing, i can't believe he's not in jail.

Looks like ‘inspired’ a lot of top notch Hollywood horror and thrillers ( ie: they stole elements of it , camera work, etc
Better than that pretentious funny games crap and has a better killer who is actually scary and not annoying

I thought it was poor in my view! now Angst that was scary, disturbing and had an intimidating killer
