Absolutely right, when looking at your back either left or right. i almost fell one time when i turn my head and just holding it with just one hand (right). i never did this again and i just hold it tight and steady first with two hands before looking behind. Nice tip ! 😀👍

As an old man of 75, with a bad balance from an early, serious accident in my twenties, I hardly look back unless I have stopped, with my feet on the ground. I have a mirror to put on my handlebar for this purpose, which I will put on my bike, "when I get the time", as also changing parts to even lighter ones. I can't quite hit the 7,45 kilo + the weight of a set of mudguards, but I may come really close, also with my set mudguards! But I have lately got a new "Garmin Explore" to navigate my bike by, as I haven't wasted money on a Smartphone, and its much higher expenses. I have a mobile, which I hardly use, and pays a nominal fee to have. Finn. Denmark

A mirror is a great option. But been a road biker I've hot used to not have them and need to check back if there is a car or a Ciclist coming up.

@@ChrisbyBike I have seen a small mirror to be put in the end of a racing bike handlebar, to give a view of what's coming from behind!! And we have also just had a serious accident, where a car opened a door in front of a bike, so the rider got hit by it!!!

It is a terrible accident.
I was 15 coming back from school when a taxi open the door and throw me splashing to the ground.
It hurts a lot.

@@ChrisbyBike Actually in Denmark we have just had an accident where a car opened a door in front of a bike. The rider got seriously hurt!

Mirrors are a great option, but as a road biker I have a habit of not using mirrors on my bike.
Road bikers are funny people, we try to take all the weight possible from our bikes.

@@ChrisbyBike Well for now, my "Superlight" is down to 9,35 kilo, and still falling, when I get the time. I have owned expensive racing bikes weighing more than that (But also a 6,8 kilo one!) ;-). Finn
