@witboek: Two software programs used for the virtual keyboard and notation were called "Internet MIDI" and "Home Concert Xtreme". These are from Timewarp Technologies. The screen capturing software used was ScreenFlow from Telestream.

Don't denigrate someone's time and effort to make a beautiful piece of music accessible to as many people as possible, just because you personally find something easy. Just saying...

@helenwazhere: I used a Yamaha Disklavier Mark IV Grand Piano connected to a MacBook Pro computer. The software programs to display the keys/pedals and notation were Home Concert Xtreme and Internet MIDI by Timewarp Technologies. I used ScreenFlow to record the screen captures and did final edits in iMovie '09 for final edits.

@Dana21895 The bass notes are the same in chorus, but the accompaniment is varied in the right hand during the chorus. You can purchase the sheet music to see how that right hand goes during the chorus.

Many people have varying degrees of exposure to music education. This lesson obviously was not aimed at virtuoso pianists, but people who are more just fans of this music. If I was able to inspire them to try it out on the piano especially if they never touched a keyboard before, then I feel like I've accomplished something in providing a gateway to have them recreate this song at their own pianos.

What was the program you were using at 5:37 ?
This covers just the opening for the song (which does repeat in the verses). The bridge and chorus have some different chords. You can find the rest in the sheet music that I talked about in the video. Also I've given some lessons on the chorus and bridge to some students over Skype or Google+ hangouts.
What kind of software is that?
not to be negative, but i think there is a wrong note in this. very easy to follow instructions, and it was a great help, but when the song switches to F chord, should the right hand thumb not be playing an A rather than a G? (second and fourth measures)
