If your listening to this in 2023, your a legend. (Btw I’m 11 and I love this! :) )
No puedo creer que tengas 11 y si así es también escucha Riff Que Sea Rock . Con papo dn guitarra
You are a legend. Peace Bro. (Don't ever smoke, from a 50 year old)
You are gorgeous man. I got a tattoo of Doc in the night attack album. My son didn't like it so much. Now he is doing the Doc scream very well.
I'm listening in 24 just like I was listening in 78. Great song from a great album.
July 24..... been 30 years for me with this song, it used to prime us for bush parties and/or bar scene,
The best band to have come out of the Australian pub scene. Amazing to see live.
Makes me nostalgic. Watching these guys with a Jack Daniels, in some beer barn. Ah, the memories.
theres been a few good ones.
Iagree one of the best😅
The Best????
jeeze that's a risky claim?... compared to AC/DC?....the World's biggest Heavy rock band ever who cut their teeth in the Aussie pubs?. . INXS,... Cold Chisel,..... Aussie crawl.... this list is massive... But yeah The Angels were up there at the top for sure!
Saw them live at pubs plenty of times
They were
Awesome
There was a time when you could see the Angles almost every second week live. Thank fuck I was in my prime and had the presence of mind to take advantage of it.
Always saw them when they visited Newcastle.Great night with the teamed up with Cold Chisel and Icehouse at the old Motordrome.Happy days.
I am hearing you
so did I
They were awesome
My dad raised me on The Angels. I'm now in my 30s and lucky enough to have seen the original lineup before Doc Neeson and Chris Bailey passed away. Still rock out to them to this day. Forever legends! 🤘
I’m 14 and rocking on with the angels all day!!!! My favourite band!!!
Yes they are a great band. I saw them many years ago, back in the day when lots of bands played in pubs/clubs
Good on you, they were a great band. This video was from a TV show that we watched every Sunday night - I was about 14 when this was on. LOL This is from the first live concert I ever went to that you might enjoy - The Angels Live At Narara: czcams.com/video/xDfcDSKnu7I/video.html
Salute 💪
nice
I’m 73 and doing the same, mate.
Ah, Countdown. You don't appreciate things until they've gone.
They came to our school social when they were first starting out, Morialta high South Australia, awsome band
My school too, Para Vista High School 😊
@@zioledeux8217 Adelaide rocks 🤟🎸🎶 we grew up in the right decade 👌
Man that's awesome!
When I was a kid in L.A. I had to order this as an import, couldn't find it at any record stores. Remember when their follow-up album came out - got it also. Never saw them live
My friend lives in Washington State. I sent him the entire collection.
RIP Doc. One of the best Front men in Aussie rock history!
👌👍
All the greats have died before their time.
Yeah seen him in Fremantle and Mandurah at the peninsula hotel a few times .
Couldn't agree more...
Sounded awesome live...
O seen them many years ago im 62 i still luv there music
Just an amazing timeless band. Best live band ever. I think I saw them live around 50 times and always came out dripping with sweat. I still play it loud, and to my son now. He does a pretty good Doc scream.
I truly appreciate australia and oz bands
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS COUNTRY
IT GAVE ME A GOOD LIFE AND OPPORTUNITIES ..I COULD NOT THANK YOU ENOUGH
from an immigrant 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤❤❤
Aww.. someone give that man a bro hug... 😬
But then say something crass rude and vaguely threatening. Ya can't admit to hugsy wugsy feelings bro, it's Australia.. 🧐🤔😭
Saw you guys at Galaxy 's never forget it. Doc is a Legend.
OMG....Soooo well dressed..No rock star ever looked as good as Doc Neeson. Look at him - the tie, the beautiful waistcoat, the sleeve armbands, the tailored trousers..and yet certifiably insane 😂😂🤩 we love ❤ you Doc. You should have lived so much longer than you did.
And down to his pants(no socks) by the end of the concerts 😂
I remember seeing the Angels several times at Bombay Rock, those were the days!
I was 14 & missed out on seeing them but my best friend went and got Doc’s scarf that he threw into the audience!
My favourite song of the Angels. Doc Neeson was a world class front man.
These guys are great ... rock n roll perfecto !!
THE BEST PUB Band Ever!!!
And if you weren't Ever there, Don't Fukin Comment!!!!!!!!!
That riff - unmistakable. My first concert was this band. I only went to four concerts in my life. The first one I passed up was ACDC ... but what did I know, right?
Here's a thought. Listening to the radio 1978:heard a sharp F rift thought there is only 2 people who do that one was Doc Neeson 2nd was Bernie Witt out of Steely Dan
I'm 15 and rocking on witḥ the angles all day!!!!! My favourite band!!!
I was 10, in Australia, watching Countdown, when this was aired. Wow
I'm in NZ and I'm pleased to say that I saw The Angels live at the Bowl of Brooklands 3 times in the 80s.
I was in varying stages of inebriation for each concert but all 3 were brilliant. For The Angels to play New Plymouth 3 times (at least) is a testament to their hard gigging skills . They are in the top 3 bands I've ever seen live and have a large spot in my playlists.
J'ai tous leurs albums mais je ne les avais jamais vu sur une scène. Un groupe de ouf ! Que Doc Neeson repose en paix.
I love you Angels rock and roll baby
Was lucky enough to walking down Swanston st. back in 88 when a semi pulled into the city square and set up so The Angels could start playing live. They filled the city with their great music and people were hangin' out their office windows. Doc announced it was their gift to Aussies for the bi-centennial. Melbourne council officers turned up and told them to move on, so they played "we got to get outer this place" and packed up and left. Talk about being in the right place at the right time! Great memories. Miss you Doc.....
I finally got to see the Angels in '89 at the Bridgeway. Best night of my musical life.
Awesome!... seeing the guys live back then wasone of my fave things... and seeing them with ACDC was the ultimate
How good is that !
Best front man ever..and so well dressed...we loved you Doc ❤ and always will. Thank you for your gift.
Saw them at the Old Melbourne in Perth in the early 80s. Was a wild gig. Was dancing on broken glass by the end of the night - thank god for the compulsory shoes policy. Those were the days......
Oh. Yes!!!!
Where has this band been my whole short life? I listen to a lot of bands from this era, this genre, yet never heard of The Angels. This album in particular is among the best around this time... or ever.
Do you live in Australia?
@@petrusamp7792 No, but I have the Internet.
Graham you haven't lived until you have heard the Angels. Pure Rock and lots of Roll. one of the best bands to come out of Australia in the 70's and then the 80's.
Hi mate ..from a sixty year old rocker ... it doesn’t come much better than the Angels (especially live) .. cheers
If you aren't from Aus then you might find it a little difficult stumbling across the Angels but we Aussies grow up with it in our homes. (I did anywho. I'm 23.)
WOW
Ha! this is Awesome! 😄👍⭐ .. this is exactly what i saw on Countdown on the Telly back when i was a teenager in Grade 11, Thanks for All the Great Anthems Doc ✌🧡 Best Rockband from Flinders Uni yet .. .
I had an encounter with Doc once.. .
One Sunday afternoon, I was standing in the square outside Town Hall in Brisbane back in the early 80's. Not another soul was around (..it definately wasn't 'Bris Vegas' then, a bit Dead😅)
I was standing facing the road just waiting when i heard this deep, booming voice from right up behind me suddenly.. .
"EXCUSE ME! can you tell me how to get to Festival Hall?"
I spun around quickly & looked up to see Doc standing right behind me, ..
"S*#T! Doc!" i said,.."you scared the crap out of me."
He laughed 😅 & i showed him how.
I guess he learned to sneak up on people silently when he was a Seargeant in The Australian Army 😎👍
*_"I had an encounter with Doc once.. ."_* no way get f%cked, f%ck off!!!.... lol.
Seen them at the Raffles Perth many years ago Unreal
Sort of went and saw them in Bundaberg in the 70's. Was that fuken stoned hardly remember a thing. Spewed me guts out in the park across the road got lost and slept under the train bridge. wow top night🤣😂
Played at the same Venue(different stage) as these guys..I just started seeing a guy I liked and was nervous about asking him to my Gig..So I invited him to This Gig..The Angels were running late..And did their soundcheck thru 3 of our sets.."So Rude..Who do they think they Are"😉🤣it's OK 🤘
Turned out he was an Angels Fan..And I scored a New Roady that night😉💞🎶29 years later.💞
RIP Doc🌼🖤
The king said your a *mad bad* traitor get outta my sight.
Most Aussie lyric ever.
Why is today the first time I've ever heard this? This is awesome and wish they'd have played this more in the States.
Theyre 70s Aussie Pub Rock. In the states they had to use the name 'Angel City' coz name was already taken.
Never too late to start. Their 4 best albums were...
●Face to Face
●No Exit
●Dark Room
●Night Attack
I owe everything to Rick Brewster. In 1996 he taught me music production. At the time we were only supposed to guitar lessons, but he saw in me that I had a proclivity towards music prod and we made these crazy demos on his 8 track and drum machine. I was 16 at the time and he absolutely blew my mind. Thank you Rick, you mean the world to me, and your initial influence had such a profound tragectory on my life.
Best Aussie rock band by far
Gotta agree saw them all back in the 70s RIP Doc
Sending good vibes and love to anyone who comes across this video! Greatness is coming‚ this is your year! ❤
I played gigs with them as a member of the back up band 80's
Angels and Icehouse ( then Flowers ) played the local university great hall the night of my 21st. After the gig I was walking around in the frost outside barefoot and shirtless and they all pulled up in cars and talked for a few minutes. At least someone came to my birthday.
followed this band all over Australia in the 70s and 80s.
ABSOFACKINGLY BRILLIANT ! The energy from Doc ...the riff !
The Angels were awesome. IMiss you Doc, consummate showman!
They always were at the Manly Vale pub in Sydney in the late 70’s and into the 80’s, I think.
Best live band I've ever seen.
yes and where the front man always greeted you and showed you as a punter respect ,, not like some cunt of a band fronted by a real prick,
I was 14 at the time 😂 everytime I hear it now that 14yr old jump straight back out. Love it.
Ooooh I MISS this!
Kids these days will never get it.
My sister introduced me to this cool band !
When I bought their album in the US, they had to be called Angel City. RIP Doc.
Aussie rock at its best
Habe es durch die Serie entdeckt ❤ fantastisch
A musical genius out of Adelaide, SA.
First time listened to band of 70's "Angels" I love! The music yes has a touch of Eagles.
Would love to see your band perform NRL FOOTBALL SIGNIFICANT MATCH! WITH TOUCH OF EAGLES FOR STATE OF ORIGIN OR GRAND FINAL NIGHT
Just love your ENERGY! On stage..
Love the Long line! Song. Wow love you guys! Australia need that beat. Ooòoh! Love after the rain. God Blessings. I just found a gem. @ 79yrs crazy just probing u-tubes music. Discovered you guys young man! Thank you!
All the best. Hope to see you! One day in some arena!♥️🕊🏉🤗🏉🤗dream come true
Imagine if this band made the same success as Ac dc then Aussie rock would be world famous RIP doc Neeson
They had decent success in Australia, unfortunately that doesnt always translate to international success, especially back then where the world just didnt have as much visibility into what was going on down under. I mean shit, by all rights, Cold Chisel shoulda been as famous as Acca Dacca, but nope. Every American I've played Cold Chisel to became obsessed with them, the POTENTIAL for world domination was there. Same goes with The Angels, all the ingredients where there, all that was missing was the fact the Yanks and Brits just had no idea who they where.
Bad management by their record company in the states, plus the kinks f cked them when they touring with them in the states.
Take A Long Line
The Angels
He was selling postcards from a paper stand
The whiskey bottle in his withered hand
Put his finger on a photo from an old magazine
Saw himself in the shadow of his dream
They found him with his head inside a tin-pot crown
Told him his feet stank and took him downtown
Called him agitator, spy and thief
Shut him up in solitary third degree
Take a long line
Take a long line
Take a long line
Reel him in
He tried to appeal to the king of might
Said "I'm just exercising my sacred right"
The king he said "You ain't got no rights
You're a madman, a traitor, get outta my sight"
Take a long line
Take a long line
Take a long line
Reel him in
They found him with his head inside a tin-pot crown
Told him his feet stank and took him downtown
Called him agitator, spy and thief
Shut him up in solitary third degree
Then they put him aboard a well wound whirlwind
Pulled out his teeth and they told him to grin
He gave them a smile, pulled out a bottle of wine
And said "I never existed, you've been wasting your time"
Take a long line
Take a long line
Take a long line
Reel him in
Take a long line
Take a long line
Take a long line
Reel him in
Take a long line
Take a long line
Take a long, long long long line
Reel him in
Some of ur lyrics are wrong 😂
“A whiskey bottle”. , not
“ the whiskey bottle “
"find him with his head inside a tin pot crown"
Found him
See damn good rockers
Just superb rock.
I missed a chance to see them at the Paramount in Portland, Oregon. Forever regretted.
Rip Dic fucking legend
This is it folks, over the top.
Super live performance! 🙂
awesome , way ahead of their time , still awesome....
Still great Rip Doc
OMFG!!!!! YES!!!!!!!
Thanks, finally after 40yrs got around to TAB-ing the Guitar part. Jamming along to your YT vid. Solo is super easy but playing BOTH Guitar parts, by downstroking the 8th notes is fast at that Tempo (feels like my arm is gonna cramp up). If i was just playing Guitar2's part, ide Alternate pick. But playing both parts seems easier to downstroke to get in the groove. So fun tho
😎👍
There was a film clip to this I remember, I've been looking for ages, must have disappeared into history... There was a group being pursued through city back blocks for a roll of 16mm film... A very hazy memory... Anyone else remember?
A time when we produced ,cars music and entertainment oh well we bhe fine
OPERATION DAY BREAK 2022 ! GO ANGELS !!!
its great!!!!
Great song
Yeaaaa 70 80sssss
Aussies sure makes some bad ass rock n roll
Best driving song ever.
Best heavy Gutairs Ever. See my playlist.
Damn..... I’m surprise how Australia had so many great rockin’ bands aside AC/DC and Rose Tattoo
Aussie crawl, Dragon, men at Work, mental as anything, The Divinyls, INXS, The screaming Jets, split enz, ice house ...... this is just to name a few they were All great bands in their own rights 💯 percent 👍
🍺😎🤘
✌️
Doc always looked like he was dressed for a wedding…ha ha
WAY, WAY, WAAAAY AHEAD OF THEIR TIME!
Singer makes me think George Thorogood crossed with Brian Johnson.
This sounds like AC/DC doing Jim Carroll’s People Who Died
would have loved if they had used whistles on stage before playing this
Oh no, Station Gerbs under control
Back when society didn’t give a fuck
4th June 2014 he died from Brain Tumours ❤
That bassists metal as fuck.
Talking Heads come to mind.
They were called Angel City in North America because some shite, short lived L.A. hair band were already using the Angels
The Angels were a girl group that released "My Boyfriends Back" in 1963.

Pulled out his teeth and told him grim, 🎶
Am I ever gonna see your face again?
Who pays for paradise?
This is my dads cousin
This song could almost be about what they are doing to Assange.
