If you look up the translation of this song's lyrics, you will find the literal translation from Japanese to English...which is very polite.
But a few months ago, CZcams user, Shoe Metal, posted the following, which shows the true aggressiveness of this song:

@@emb5091 I am a Japanese and I confirm EMB's translation is good enough to convey the message of this lyrics. I actually think this lyrics is a little bit even more aggressive than you think, because they use words in a harsh or brutal manner for girls. For example, the word signifies "you" is not normal "you" but a guy to be called with contempt. On the contrary, however, when cute girls outspeak boys with their straightforward feeling, they try to inflame boys' guts or encourage boys to confront problems. So the audience, the majority of it are men, feel happy with their harsh words and action, especially their cute sideward kicks. Thanks 有難う💛

This was (mostly) shot at the Tokyo Dome concert (Black Night) in front of 55,000 people.

Allan, Eric, if you really wanted to hear Yui & Moa live you'd need to wander outside of youtube videos for the most part. Their dancing is so demanding that they did not always sing live. There are occasions where their mics were on (and those are always better for fans) but on many other occasions they use playback instead. Remember that they are dancing their choreography to the T and it's very physically demanding. On the occasions that they did not use playback, you could hear them take turns instead of singing together and you could tell how out of breath they get during most parts.
As for actual singing, the way Su does actual singing, it's even more scarce. Some people have given you the couple occasions where Su hands the mic to Yui & Moa for their birthdays during the second part of the song Headbanger and that's about all you'll hear.
Fans LOVE when they get to hear Yui & Moa :). But Su is definetly the most gifted singer out of the three. But yeah this is BABYMETAL and they have set roles. Su is the lead vocalist and the girls' job is to entertain the crowd (Scream & Dance). I prefer to use Shout & Dance. In fact, the translation is a bit lost there. What Yui & Moa do is most commonly known in Japanese as "Ai no te" which is a form of engaging the crowd through shouts. I don't have many examples in the English language but I know in my language we have these shouts for example when you're trying to pull something heavy, the lifters will use those shouts to pump eachother up. That's roughly what "ai no te" is.
I can't explain it very well sadly :).

@@dicodec If you listen to the CD version it is Yui singing lead with Moa doing backup/harmony. If you listen to the CD version of GJ it is the other way around with Moa handling lead Yui backgrounds. Live they always sung it together.
If you want a solo performance. Check out "Moabanger" Su-Metal gave the mic to Moa for a special version of the song for her birthday.

Asking about solos. The most important event in the World every 4th July is Moa’s birthday. In 2019 she turned 20 and was passed the Freddy Mercury microphone by Su, and sang most of Headbanger. 20 is coming of Age in Japan, and they make a really big thing of it. She has a decent and distinctive voice, if not in the same league as Su. There are more than a couple of examples of Yui singing Love Machine out there.

Figured y'all'd like this one. I think it's ironic that when Su, the Metal Goddess with the lethal glare who consumes men's souls for breakfast, is absent and it's only Yui and Moa, the little 'cutesy' ones, on stage, the songs are harder. Just a fun musing on the dynamics. (Even though the band was constructed around Su, I think Yui and Moa could have been a successful act all on their own. Not dismissing Su. In an ideal world, they'd all three be together forever. Just sayin', something about Black BABYMETAL works.)

Great song choice. You've seen the "less PC" translation of the lyrics in the comments now ... apparently when they first saw them Yui and Moa couldn't stop giggling.
There are 3 more 'Black BABYMETAL songs' - '4 No Uta' (or 'Song 4' - Yui and Moa have full writing credits for lyrics and music on this one, arrangement was not them of course), 'Onedari Daisakusen' and 'GJ' - add them all to your list to get some heavy sugar coated metal.

@@dicodec There are some lyrics in songs that seem to be personal to them or relate to something about them (eating dried squid instead of sweets making Moa look like a little old man in 'Uki Uki Midnight' is one) but I think they are more likely to have a say in the choreo and maybe the costumes.
4 No Uta is the only song where any of the girls have any writing credits. They were on the tour bus in SIngapore when they were 12, Su gave them titles to write songs about. One was wood another banana (no they have never been revealed) and she gave them the number 4. 4 is unlucky in Japan (like we have 13 considered unlucky in the west) as it is said as 'shi' and shi also means death, so they use the alternative 'yon'. Yui and Moa used lots of other words with 'shi' in them (eg bitaminshi - vitamin C) saying they don't mean death so neither does 4.
They ran around non stop singing and dancing their new song and the staff complained about them - so Koba had the arrangement done and it became a Black BABYMETAL song on the first album. It involves a lot of audience participation and people shouting "Yon Yon", but Black BABYMETAL songs tend to involve the audience with Yui and Moa working the crowd as only they can.
So is the "less PC" version the original or the real version and the more PC version is just a bad translation, or did they make a radio version of it like other artists in the West would do if they had a bunch of swears in the song? I honestly had never seen the harsher lyrics before, that's why when others would talk about it being rude I was always like "THAT'S what you consider rude?", because it really wasn't. Now...ok, I can see what they meant.
@@mr.osclasses5054 I said 'the less PC translation' - I think that previous translations were just toned down or the translators were being 'polite'. Like the "I dislike ... " I'd always thought that must really be "I hate ..." so what else are they not translating accurately. There is just the one version of the song itself, just the translations differ.
As someone said, their "solo" songs are from years back. But if you want to hear Moa more "mature" voice, she sang Headbanger!! For her birthday (the concert is Legend-M iirc) but it's hard for that video to survive on CZcams more than 3 seconds lol it gets nuked pretty hard

There is a video comparison between su and moa's vocal part in headbanger man, you can found that on youtube too, there moa sings, and is another part where yui sings before she left the group on 2018, the video is not hq but you can listen to her too, ah onother thing, there are two themes of them alone, chokotto love of yui's and another of Moa, but kinda old videos, a big hug for you two from Chile

they have done solo songs like Chokotto Love (Yuimetal) and Love Machine (Moametal), unfortunately these songs are a little bit short and last about 2 minutes and they do some playback. also if you want to hear another Sumetal solo i recommend you Akatsuki (Budokan Black Night)

There's some videos out there of Yui and Moa doing lead vocals for Headbanger. My favorite being one of Moa's videos since it's better quality and more recent. She sings great. Really makes me hope she gets more time to do lead vocals on later songs.

I think Koba once said that Babymetal will never fully fall to either side too much (Light = Kawaii) or (Dark = Brutal Metal) which is why most of their heavier songs still have kawaii elements to it. Well, except for "In The Name Of". That was a ritual song for the Fox God.

I believe this concert is in the Tokyo Dome that they sold-out 2 nights running, capacity 55,000! I love Black Babymetal and miss their performances. When watching the Wembley Arena concert stream, they were a major highlight. You need to react to 4 no uta, Moa and Yui wrote it on on a dare by Su while on their tour bus.
A reminder to Yui Fans, when are listening to Early Babymetal on commercial networks a Royalty is paid. Meaning that Yui gets check through Amuse who still lists her as a signed artist.

I know you wanted non harmonized and there are songs that kind of do that like Catch me if you can, animation for you, and Meta Taro but honestly that just isn’t what their job was. I think that will change in the future with Yui gone and Moas voice improving a lot. As her rendition of headbanger last year is great.

Have you ever heard the japanese band Necronomidol ? Not the same musicale genre as BABYMETAL but it's an interressing band. The songs “Ithaqua”, “Tupilaq”, “Dawnslayer” are pretty cool !
Another japanese band is Yukueshirezutsurezure. The English name of the band is Not Secured,Loose Ends. The songs "Loud Asymmetry", "Paradise Lost" are recommended.
The last band is not japanese but Taïwanese, it's called Chthtonic. A symphonique black metal band with some traditionnal asian arangment ! My recommandation : “Supreme Pain for the Tyrant“, “Defenders of Bú-Tik Palace“, and “TAKAO“

I first thought it must be a giant projection system, but after seeing the lighting and watching the graphics from "Tales . ." it is clear it is composed of what must be 100's and 100's individual High RES LED screens!!!!! I would LOVE to see a documentary on the planning, building and execution of this set for the two performances at Tokyo Dome. . . fascinating and unbelievably expensive. . .(On the other hand, what is 110k * let's say an average of $110usd per ticket?) . . .then merch . .$$$ . .
