cutting the duct was an awesome idea. I was up against a wall on how to get the duct out. Saved me a ton of time. Thank you so much.

Thanks for that idea. I ended up having to start the cut with a saw and ending with a wood chisel. Rough method but worked.

Wow! Thank you! You took a big ugly job and turned it into a one hour job. Thank you for thinking outside the box. I used a fine blade on my saw-zall, put my tape down in advance, and all is well. Mine was stuck in heat, so summer driving was miserable. You saved the day.

Hey so im not lookin to have to get foil tape for my duct im a cheap guy. Would regular duck tape work fine?

Any tape would work! Not a high pressure duct at all.

Months before this, my overheat light came on. By the time I could pull safely off the freeway, it was super hot. I later figured out a leak developed on the heater hose/tube that runs under the intake manifold. It either warped or cracked a head, and the only way to keep it from overheating after fixing that steel tube was to dump block sealer in the radiator. That also plugged up the heater core resulting in no flow, no heat. Not a huge deal in San Diego but after 245,000 miles, I put a new engine in my truck, new radiator and heater core, among other things. So basically, it was time.
