We purchased this camper and we love it. Perfect for our small family. We did some upgrades to it. We use stabilizers in the front when parked, we replaced the single step with a double, I found a video that put serious amounts of storage in the bathroom soo cool. We installed gas struts in the doors in the cupboards problem solved. I built a small ladder for the bunks and we use body pillows to turn the dinette into a couch. We love to watch movies in there together. I recommend buying a tire table for the outside it is really nice to have and super simple to use. Great review, and love this camper. For what it cost? It’s a steal. And we can pull it with a 2018 Chevy equinox. It’s at the top of the vehicles towing capacity, but we can pull it non the less. Have a great day and happy camping.
Excellent info Mr Grey, lots of good ideas there. Pulling this is definitely easier than the last one we had, I think we’re gonna love it. Thx for watching and I may put some of your ideas to use!!
How much have you spent on upgrades? I’ve been looking at a 2023 19.3 NOBO but a hard sell to my wife.
So far upgrades are around $600. A better mattress, spare time (the 2 big purchases), extra shelves, tv mount, etc... I really like the NOBO campers! Good luck!

Extension spring and two wood screws will hold open your cabinet doors. Cloth storage bins with handles on the bunks. Retention strap across the front if you want; these are nice cause you can pack in the house and carry them out to the camper for loading. Hood lifts on the bed storage. Thanks for the demo. Simple trailer for easy mods.
Good tips! Got the extension springs installed. Thx for watching!!
Thank you for the informative video! I’m thinking about buying this to live in it full time. I’m a single mom with my two pre teens and my baby. You would think a family would get something bigger but affordability wise this size will do just fine until I can afford to get us into something bigger or we might just like this and stick with a smaller space. It’ll be our second rv we’ve lived in. ❤️
Glad you enjoyed the video! Best of luck on your purchase, we’ve enjoyed our time in this one. Thx for watching!
Good luck to you and your family. I just bought one to live in full time for myself, my partner and our 85 pound dog. It’s been a week so far…I never realized how many clothes I have. Others than that, we love it. Hope you all make some great memories in your new home 🌹
@@jenonymous-dev thx for watching!! Enjoy your camper!
Thanks for the tour. Were looking to get a camper. And this one is within our budget. Seems really good for the price point.
Thx for watching Army! So far we’ve really enjoyed this. Made a few upgrades and will do a vid soon on those.
Bought ours on Wednesday, used it this weekend. For just my husband & myself it’s great. I’m having him make me a stand so I can lift the bed storage and it’ll hold it up for me. I did learn from you what the buttons were for to check gray water storage. I don’t know why we didn’t know that. Thanks love the video.
That’s awesome! We’ve got 2 trips planned next month and can’t wait! Hopefully soon I’ll make an update video of our additions. Good idea on the storage! Happy camping!!
Very nice. A few modifications to suit your needs and viola. Thanks for sharing 🤘
Didn’t buy flowers for the wife on Valentine’s Day, hope this makes up for it. 🤣🤣🤣. Thx BeeZo!
Thanks for the tour 👍
Yes sir Charlie. Thx for watching!
Cut a hole in the bathroom wall for direct access to the upper bunk for storage... Maybe even both bunks.. ? Makes the bathroom a lot bigger and more usable...
That would definitely create space but I doubt the wife would let me do that yet!!
Great tour and info!! Ty
Thx for watching Melissa!!! Yw
Thank you sir. This camper is nice ❤
You’re very welcome. Thx for watching ruby
I have always hated dinnetes in rvs. For the most part this is a perfect little camper, really easy to add up grades. I wuld look at lowes or home depot for a cabinet to make a closet at the foot of the bed.
Good idea. I’ve seen few people that have done something similar.
Great overview
Thank you sir!
I'm looking at the 17r bunkless version. Not on the lots yet. I like the 17b/r. Easy to manage.
For us the bunkless would be great! But we’ll enjoy it just the same.
@@Bullhornbeach Ya the 17r is the same camper just with out bunks. They call it a couples camper since the 17b was a huge success. I'm in the market for a new camper. Im down to 5 choices so far. Thanks for the video it really helps a lot. I did see a 17b in person. To be honest, it's built just like any other in its class. I've seen many 35k$ campers fall apart in 1 year of medium use. I think its built good. I was impressed. So easy to tow and manage. Straight up travel trailer, instead of a Hampton on wheels. I've done got to tired and older to deal with 30 footers any more lol!!!
@@ericj810 great to know I could help out a little!! Thx Eric! Wish I’d known about the 17r but that’s ok. Our last camper was totaled by hail and the price tag on this one, I just couldn’t not go get it! When I retire in a couple years we may upgrade but for now grandbaby can enjoy a bunk. Good luck on your purchase!
Ha! I'm from wichita! I've been shopping these here lately thinking about upgrading from my popup. Thanks for putting up a walk thru without the salesman angle. I go fishing in Pittsburg alot, and one of these would fit the bill nicely. Not too big and more comfortable than the pop up.
Ha! I lived in Wichita back in the 90s! Did my military time there at McConnell. This has been a decent camper for us. Not as big as we’re used to but it’s just us 2. Thx for watching hick!!
Just about all I might need, hopefully the price was right for ya. For me, its getting closer to hunting season & the solor capability could be awesome. 👋
Yea man it’s been a decent little camper for us. Not sure how many solar panels it would need but it’s a great option!
Nice. What a good price.
Yep! I thot so too!
Have one for over a year. Only real issue is the AC runs all day and never really cools down the space. Added vent covers that help but I'm in Florida and it definitely struggles. I'm going try to install bigger unit. Also fridge struggles to maintain temp. I added recirculating fan and it helps but it's another thing I'm going to replace
I agree on the fridge for sure. Ours isn’t great either. I’ve heard a lot of people upgrade the ac.
That blank space to the right or actually, below the stove is the wheel well.
Thx for watching!!
I'd use the Bunk area as large shelf storage in my situation.. saving the bottom for grandchildren
Yep that’s the plan here as well! 🤘
@@Bullhornbeach I checked and that upper bunk mattress will flip up to the ceiling and wedge in there nice for wall padding. Then maybe some nonslip rugs on plywood for baskets of storage
@@andyostertag good to know. I didn’t think of that but the wife probably would have!
You'll need that upper mattress added to the lower bunk if anyone's going to sleep on it... !!! And you probably have both of them added to your front bed before the night is over...
I got the 17R this one has no bunkers and they had put cabinets inside the bathroom. The 17R is perfect for two people.
Good choice. I wish I had known about that one when I bought , but that’s ok. Happy camping!
I have a 2022; the only thing that irritates me is they could've pitched the shower vent 3 inches to the right so I could fit my head into it instead of having to lean over to fit my head into the shower compartment. I'm 6 feet tall, and the shower is only made for persons around 5"5. Otherwise,. It's a great little camper for the price!
Totally agree. I gotta stoop in there as well. Thx for watching geocs!!
Funny sell man don't what they sellig😂, i love this camper want one so bad looks so good
🤣🤣. Yea man we’ve really enjoyed this. Thx for watching Talon!!
@@Bullhornbeach 1:57
Heck yeah 👍🏻
\,,/ (-_-) \,,/ thx for watching Matt!
How does the A/C keep up? Wife and I are in the market for a small travel trailer like this one. Concerned that the little window unit won’t keep it cool on hot Kansas days. Normal for us to camp when it’s 90+ degrees. Want one that will stay cool even on the hottest days.
Really it does pretty good. 90+ will push it but if the campsite has shade you should be ok. Also some people upgrade just for that reason. I think mine is either 5000 or 8000 btu, 10000 would be better. I remember those hot days on the flight line at McConnell! Lol. Now I’m in Arkansas, 100+ in July and August on some days and so far I’m pretty happy with it. Thx for watching Farm!
Just got one of these and like so far. Was wondering what bracket you have for the TV and what size you went with?
Hi renagade, the tv is a 32” rocu and the mount I just picked up at Walmart for about $10. I’ll try to post a pic of the mount here later.
Update. Not able to put pics here. I posted a couple to bullhornbeach Facebook.
They put that hook on the door, so the door won't interfere with the operation of the power awning.
Agree. I just think they could have a better design. Thx for watching!
@4:17, the sign on the side said "dutchman"...is that the same as the coleman?...why didn't they just put coleman?
Good question! I think it’s technically a Dutchman branded by Coleman.
The 17 R in my case for a couples is super better
Agree. I wish I’d known about the R model but I’ll still make the best of this one. Thx for watching Helios!
Great video, does the roof have any type of material covering it or just the thin metallic that’s on the sides and front?
It’s not the same as the sides, just a standard camper top. I’m not sure how it’s made by it does have a 12 year warranty. Thx for watching!!
@@Bullhornbeachthank you sir
@@BullhornbeachI had an old pop up Coleman that had a hard plastic covering on the top that cracked and bubbled out creating major leaking from the roof where the ac set. Any other issues so far ? We looked at a 2023 lantern 17 B today and are seriously considering
@@TXRoeJogan the big issue so far is the ac leaking on the bed. It’s a horrible design. We’ll be taking ours in for water damage repair when they get the parts in. Hopefully the get it fixed. If not I’ll repair it myself. I plan to do a follow up video talking about that and other issues we’ve had.
@@Bullhornbeach sorry to hear that! Thank you for the quick response!
The weight for this thing says 3,000 lbs. Gvwr says 4,000 lbs. Does that mean a Honda Pilot or 4Runner (max haul weight for both is 5,000 lbs could pull it? Or would that be too rough on the car and I would have to get a bigger truck?
Looking at the math it’s seems ok but I’d check with someone in the industry to be sure
Hi!! Thank you!! Does it come with radio and speakers?
Mine didn’t come with either but it did come with a BOSS Bluetooth wireless speaker. Sounds good with my phone! Thx for watching Johanna !
Thank you what kind of vehicle could it use to tow that is it 3000 lb? Thx
I have a ford f-150 with the 5.0 and it pulls it easily. Dry empty weight is about 3000. Thx for watching!!
Were you considering any other camper? Like the lt 17r that comes with no bunkbeds? Or the Rubicon ?
I wasnt but at the time I didnt know abou the 17r. That would have been better for us.
What kind of camera you have on the trailer I have 2022 17b and I want to get one for my trailer. Thanks
Hi Carlos , I’ve got a furrion system on mine. Love it! They run about$500 but lucky for me I had this one from our last camper.
it is a very reasonable priced camper nowaday
Definitely that! We’re enjoying it but its smaller that our last one and kinda missing the space. Thx for watching Dave!
How many BTU is your AC?
I believe mine is 5000
How do you miss no spare tire!!!
I was having a senior moment I guess
@@Bullhornbeach 😁
I did a trade when I bought mine, and they let me keep my spare and sway bar saddles from my last camper. But, I also had a senior moment with the spare tire. Luckily, I had an observant friend with me 😂
What is plug and play?
Talking about the back up camera? I thought “plugs” were already wired in to “play” on the back up monitor, but they weren’t. I had to cut the wires at the back top light and wire it myself. Plug and play would have been a lot easier. Hope that helps. !! 🤘
Quite nice remarks! I am a 65 year old kid who's dream with tiny camper to pull with my 2023 Kia Sportage hybrid turbo 4x4 puling capacity is 2500 Lbs so I believe I would be fine, Will go to the Island of Hawai'i
So far it’s been a good little camper for us! This one weighs in at about 3000 lbs, the Kia might have to work a little, but it may pull it. Thx for watching Rodando!
How much are y’all paying? Not sure if I should negotiate more. They want $18200 out the door
Definitely negotiate. I walked out under 14k. There was an rv show that weekend so they were giving deals but you should be able to get that price down. Thx for watching Michael!
I just paid $13k for a 2024
is it possible to remove the bunk beds?
Yes. I’ve seen a few vids where people have removed them and enlarge the bath
Your 2023 Coleman 17B is no difference between my 2022 Coleman 17B
Good to know!
So you have to be plugged into shore power to have a heater? Doesn’t seem great lol
Agree, I’d rather have propane heat but I’ll make do!
How much power is needed in watts or amps?
My salem cruise lite 171rbxl, same size makes that look like a cardboard box behind a dumpster.
🤣
I actually recently traded in my 2024 Salem Cruise Lite T176 for this camper 2024, and we couldn’t be happier 🙂
What is the interior height?
Thank you
Just barely over 6’. Maybe 6’3” at best.
How do I turn the radio off.
With the off switch
@@Bullhornbeach I have a different model there's no off switch on the control panel. Thanks for help anyways. Have a nice day
@@ExitTheMatrixVR I gotta admit , I thot the comment was intended to be a smart a- thing so I kinda replied that way. But you’re right, no off switch. Mine doesn’t even have a radio! Lol. You have a great evening as well. Thx for watching!
The front panel and the side's panels don't even lineup
Close enough for me
They purposely had wasted space because they wanted a travel trailer to be as late as possible so other people can tow with their SUVs, or even there sedans
That makes sense but I still disagree with all the wasted space. There are many other campers on the market that can be towed by smaller vehicles. Thx for watching Kim!
120 a month with a 1000.00 down
Great bargain
This thing is a piece of junk. Nothing but problems ahead for you.
What problems have you experienced? It’d be good to know what to look for
Would like to know the problems as well
My hose is to big to fit in the bumper
That’s odd, I thot they were all the same
My wife and I purchased a Jayco 212 QB after looking at the build quality of the Coleman 17 R and the 202 we decided to spend $6000 more and get a Jayco. Build quality soo much better.Protected underfloor panels taller head room in bathroom .Coleman 202 build quality was atrocious and the Coleman 17 R which doesn't even come with a spare tire is diffently not worth $17,000 dollars .
I’m sure you’ll enjoy the jayco!! Thx for watching Gary!
