Odo left incharge of dominion he Eventually found laas and cure him they searching for other 100 to form a new great link. Thats i remember a very stupid story line. Although it never stated in a show how changling reproduce but tia implied that they are both individuals and gestalt mind. And remeber the baby changling. And female shiftwr called 100s infants.

If you are talking about the scene near the beginning where the Jem'Hadar rams into the Galaxy class ship... this was the first time they ever met and fought the Jem'Hadar. They established that the Jem'Hadar weapons pass right through their shields because they are using technology beyond their understanding... the shields are basically not there for all intents and purposes.
