I totally agree, it really does suck sometimes knowing that we wont be around to get to see all this. Thats the funny thing about consciousness I guess. No wolf ever lived to regret not getting to be a dog.
Oh man Dylan, this is exactly what I needed. A positive vibe for the future… everything is so doom and gloom, this lifted my spirits and makes me want to ensure we focus on the continuation of humanity.

Some of it is good, but we need to be excited about the future rather than afraid to achieve our true potential. Very glad channels like Kurzgesagt's exist! And people like you.
I absolutely would go to Mars. Even if it meant shortening my life significantly due to radiation exposure - bring it on. I'm just an explorer at heart. Maybe we'll get the chance! I really do think it's possible.
I think we should also let others have a shot. Maybe humans get replaced by the Thundercats or some monster beyond evolved human descendant. It would just be extremely boring if it was just humans living here.

The thing about humans leaving the solar system is our short lifespam compared to the travel time. I believe we can have entire societies in spaceship-cities travelling the universe, but generations upon generations of people would live and die without ever landing anywhere, living their entire lifes inside the ships. Life on the future doesn't look so beautiful as life on Earth today.
Surely we'll have lots of videogames and simulations to entertain us, tho.

Heck yeah, I'd really love to have a virgin Earth-like planet all to myself! Whole planet and its resources all to myself, no other people to abuse nature itself, and zero threats of pollution, climate change, war etc. that come with having tons of people around.

Hi Dylan. I have three questions, Do you plan to make your VPN available on Linux, OpenBSD, FreeBSD etc? Also have you been asked to put backdoors into your VPN by the FBI or your equivalent? Okay the last question, will you introduce advertisements in the future?
If I sounded like a crazy person, but the reason I asked about backdoors is because there have been VPN providers who have VPN providers who have either done this or have said they have no log policies then broken them. That's why I asked.
In Aus I believe that would be ASIO, but I could be wrong. Some countries actually have legal requirements to keep certain parts of the metadata so most of the more popular “no logs” VPNs do keep logs because they’re legally required to. I wonder if the free nature of his VPN could exempt him from this requirement because he isn’t really providing a paid service to anyone, it’s an intriguing question for sure. I’m more curious about how it’s possible to make any data protocol “quantum proof” in the first place, but maybe he has explained it elsewhere and I just haven’t seen it.
If he could accept stuff like bitcoin or ESPECIALLY Monero, then it might be interesting. Even if they get get a subpoena for logging. Then at the least, it would be tied to an ephemeral wallet address. I don't use a VPN service but if I were to then Mulvad seems like a good choice in that regard.

8:40 i always thought of science as the explanation of magic in this world...science provides the explanation of the magic that is happening. The fact that there are inexplainable phenomenons proves that there are magic...of course not like those in the movies, if anything the one in the movies is the one that cant keep up in the magic of the real world

I don't really plan on dying in any case, people are hard at work, finding ways to make people young again, already done in rats, so we aren't far from the solution, in about 80 years we will become Type 1, if we don't kill ourselves that is, or upload to a mechanical body, with the help of the General AI, set to become sentient around 2035 - 2045, we go faster each and every day, I also expect to see a matter printer/ replicator, to be made within the 80 years to come, solving all manufacturing problems and giving us true abundance.
We are already further than star trek in some areas, just look at communication, as we can entangle particles, we have the communication range of the universe itself, no matter how big it gets, no need for sup-space transmissions, 1 set of entangled particles build in to your sim card, which can read and write, and the other set in a decentralized hub on earth, for instant communication.
Lets say we can entangle copper or gold next, and have 2 piece that are by all means 1, power 1 side and it instantly powers the other part of itself, no matter the distance in between the "parts".
Much to look forward to, gets me excited every time

If more humans mean more progress is it possible that one day we will be able to reactivate consciousness from the dead. I totally agree it will be disappointing to miss all of this but what if we don't have to. Since time would be very different to those dead staring at nothing to awaking to a bright future of humanity almost instant to your mind. We currently don't understand consciousness but what if some day we did and were able to control and shape it to our wishes. I would personally be really exited if that ever happened and would gladly sign up. Just something to be optimistic about.
What that video should have talked about is how many genetically unique human beings can the DNA produce, but it's probably a very hard calculation because you have to exclude other species.
I think the biggest deal of our history was figuring out that if you put seeds on floor, plants will come out.
