Not canceling the 2020 conference and reelection of delegates and delaying visas for central conferences cast a light of illegitimacy to this meeting of the UMC. The American Church was over represented due to disaffiliation. The sweeping changes resulting from gerrymandering the composition of the delegates is proof. Let's be completely honest Ken, there were no "acrimony" or "voting irregularities" at the conference because a great majority of Traditionalists have disaffiliated...and more will be leaving individually. The conference was widely viewed as not a religious gathering, but a gay circus - hence this video to "spin it". Divestiture of Israeli bonds is an outrage. I have been a Methodist my entire life. While saddened, I am balanced by the fact that schisms have happened many, many times in the Methodist Church and many other deniminations - and it will happen again. As the more radical elements embed themselves within the "new UMC" there will be further splits because you cannot endorse and support something without teaching it. Homosexuality will now be taught within the "new UMC". Remaining Traditionalists will be pushed out. Disaffiliation was not stopped because it was creating dissension, it was stopped to prevent further financial bleeding. This is undeniable.

You stated, sexual discrimination would be be a chargeable offense against the pastor. Yet you also stated it’s up to the church whether they’ll allow a gay wedding or not. You cannot have both. If they choose not to have a gay wedding, you can call that discrimination and discipline that church now what is it gonna be? Because it’s very inconsistent.
Exactly. It went from being "big tent, room for traditionalists" to now calling the previous BOD language re: homosexuality "harmful." This is how it is with progressives.
Progressives get a little sniff of power (that they were handed by the people who built the church, and the country) and they make a 2 week mockery of one of the largest mainline denominations in the world. Traditionalists will never be welcome around an institution run by the modern day left, and the ones who stayed had the door slammed shut right in their face. If you think what happened at general conference was business as usual, then by all means have fun with the UMC. Great job.

"You are to fully detach", "You are not to recruit members from the Western NC Conference", "You are not to recruit Clergy from the Western NC Conference" and this is the best one "You shall not comment as to who we are as a church". "This will not contribute to your peace". These are the exact words of Bishop Carter upon 113 churches disaffiliating from the UMC Western North Carolona Conference. Conciliatroy, or threats? Is this enforceable?. We ALL need to be honest now.....everyone. Divorces happen for reasons and there are ALWAYS two sides to every position. Hearts AND minds, Hearts AND minds.
I watched every second of General Conference online. You’re telling me that these people sat through the entire event and never once looked around and and asked themselves what type of distorted sense of reality they were now living in? I’m not buying it. Religious pluralism and humanism will never attract enough dedicated new members to maintain a healthy denomination. See ya
The Common Truths once embraced by the UMC have been discarded in favor of Individual Truths.

I have watched most of the conference. Most of the time, you'd be hard-pressed to hear Jesus Christ ever referenced. Replaced mainly by "siblings, the divine, the creator, etc." They did recite some stale liturgical elements that were sprinkled around some.
@@ddjjj33years ago,before 1972 when they decided to go against his holy word and allow women behind the pulpit to preach,they were much more in accord with the word,but you can't compromise with the world and think that God is ok with it!!!

There is no way that a true follower of Christ attends the last General Conference and comes away undisturbed by the proceedings. The conservatives should have insisted years ago that the liberal faction exit. Wesley is rolling over in his grave!
One more comment...At this point, true believers can’t stay in the UMC. Every dollar given to the organization is used in promoting heresy. Paul would say treat them as outsiders, which now they are. So sad.
I can't believe what I am hearing. First, the UMC has literally thumbed their noses at African UMC churches. They were treated horribly by the general conference. Second, the scriptures were chewed up and spit out.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (NLT) "Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people-none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."
You claim to have moved into alignment with other churches - How about aligning with the Scriptures?
It's funny,he or those 2 women did not use any passages to back up anything they were saying!!you know why???because it's not in God's word!!you won't find anywhere it says that homsexuals will make it to heaven,no where!!!!
