Ditto on the findings. Most of the time they either say sold out or don't have

“If you indeed wanna help Singaporeans keep food expenditure down ..then go cajole your leading policy makers to abort the “highest bid for public hawker stalls” practice la, plus tell them to stop egging hawkers to sell a meal at $3 or so. It only helps the well heed and stingy.”

Nah. Bidding is good. We just have to stop all the 1st/2nd gen hawkers from illegally subletting their food stalls instead of returning to government. They act as landlords and siphon money from Singaporeans. There are hundreds of them doing this illegal subletting.
The bid amount is always high because the supply of empty stalls is low. Because people don't return stalls to NEA.

Thanks for the video. It shows the disconnect between government initiative and reality on the ground - such as hawkers finding this unviable to the Govt spending money on a website that isn’t helpful or practical. It’s likely this initiative and website won’t last - all hyped up for naught. Pls keep up such videos to showcase the reality on the ground

The website is good for people who are really really on a budget, taking into account that there's no opening and closing times for individual shops. But once you head to the shop if you want to know what time they close you could just ask.

Our forefathers worked hard for nation building. Now this generation especially those that are older now and had contributed to nation building, need to eat like a 3rd world country citizen.
We are a first world country. What’s our leaders doing for our people?
In the 60s to 70s eating meat is a luxury. But 80s onwards it was common.
    We just gone backwards…
    The “system” needs a revolution..

The only budget is to cook by yourself if possible. Meals min in 2024 is $5. Or just stand by $10 per meal with drinks

    Sylvia Lim Response Budget
Is just focusing on a supply-side Budget wise? Looking at the growth forecasts, even after factoring the stimulus accorded by the Budget, the economic growth figures for 2009 are expected at around (-) 2-5 % GDP contraction (ST 24/1/09).

Any such cut will cost the government about $1.8b, within the government’s means. In any case, the revenue loss will probably be less if people start consuming more as expected. If needed, the government could reduce additional GST credits given to those who are better off.

Everyplace actually have budget selection, take cai fan with one cai for example , that’s what I eat when am on a budget. A platform with no updates is as good as no platform, one way is to maybe try to get vendors to post it and to honoured it and see how many vendors are really keen to help the people in need. I reckon not much as all they look for is moolah and not love. How I hope I was wrong

Most working class citizens could beat inflation every year if they just don't eat out everyday, prepare meals before work, buy only what they need, buy the occasional wants and invest their money with due diligence.
