Über die Filme "Nostalghia" und "Opfer" sowie seine schwere Erkrankung. Mit Gedanken zum Exil, zu Kunst und Gesellschaft aus seinen Tagebüchern ("Auf der Suche nach der verlorenen Zeit - Andrei Tarkowskis Exil und Tod." Ebbo Demand, 1987, 130 Min.). Ab ca. Min. 11 und 114 musste die Hintergrundmusik von J.S.Bach zeitweise unterdrückt werden, damit der Film nicht in Deutschland gesperrt wird.

faridtjabbah gut The sound editor for Stalker said he died because of poising on it which makes sense seeing as him,his wife and Anatoliy Solonitsyn died from the same type of lung cancer. Also it was before radiation posing was as known as it is now (Stalker was made before Chernobyl)

Well in the same sense he also couldn’t survive totalitarian perverted communist society - and which just like capitalism is simply soulless atheistic materialism being played out in the flesh, so to speak.
But as the prophet Isaiah said, “”Your dwelling place is in the midst of deceit” - and you fight the fight within this realm which however relatively true or false still has its mortal limits, i.e. we die! So in the physical sense we can’t survive any society! And of course for Tarkovsky, the spiritual is where truth is.
