Just a consideration: Packing cubes can go straight From the suitcase to the closet shelves. They are perfect for organizing underwear, socks, tops etc. I also use a back of door shoe holder on the bathroom door, to hold all toiletries, medicines, makeup etc.

December 2023. We've gone on 2 week cruises with carry-on only. Always bring a heavy jacket, hat, and gloves because it's 20 degrees in Chicago. Our problem

I can't believe how much you got into that cabin! I traveled around the world (mostly via air, also trains and one cruise) for 6 months in 2022 and only took a tiny carry-on and a computer backpack. YES, I'd go on a 9-month cruise in a heartbeat!

The is awesome ! I can hardly organize my cabin this well for a 7-night cruise. 😅 As for going on a 9-month cruise, I would have to say No. I don't think I could handle being on the water that long. I definitely would love to go on a World Cruise for 9 months although I’m not sure if I would bring that much stuff with me.
I managed to do a 2-week Transatlantic with only a carry-on bag and it was my most enjoyable cruise. I love the flexibility and freedom of travelling light, but not sure how I would prepare for a world cruise like this.
@_S.H_ It was suggest 6 large suitcases. We ended up with 3 large and 3 carryon suitcases. One was nothing but consumables, (Toothpaste, deodorant RX's, etc) ❤️
We take 4 suitcases for our 6 month world cruise on a different cruise line. Our cabin is smaller and it is hard to find storage places for everything. I did pack fewer clothes but somehow all 4 suitcases were full. We fly to LA tomorrow and sail away for Hawaii the next day. With all the trouble around the Red Sea, I expect our itinerary will change. This is our 3rd attempt to go around the world. In 2020 our world was canceled after two months because of Covid. In 2022 our itinerary changed because some ports were accepting cruise ships of Covid. No matter the changes, I love the long cruises and love sea days.
@lizbogovich3822 Packing for a 6-month world cruise is tricky, and smaller cabins make it challenging. Safe travels to LA and Hawaii! Stay flexible with the itinerary due to the Red Sea situation. 🌍🚢⚓
I have watched a few of the videos from some of your other fellow passengers and how they unpacked and set up their cabins . I have to say , yours is definitely the most organised! The others were messing with my “anti clutter “ OCD 🤣. I wouldn’t be able to function with all the stuff they had hanging from the cabin walls! But yours was just enough ! Hope you have an amazing time 😊.

I will love to go on a 9 months cruise, with all the places that we can learn about, but unfortunately I need to work, I hope that when we retire (around 15 years from now) they have this type of cruises. Enjoy your trip, has to be a unique experience!!!!!

Hi from Okinawa Japan! We loved our 11 day cruise in the Mediterranean to Canary Islands. Especially, we loved not having to constantly pack and unpack while getting to see so many countries! Still thinking about a long cruise, if we could deal with the ship food long term and the long sea days between continents. Meanwhile, we are thinking about short cruises during our retirement and maybe humanitarian destinations. Have fun!

I really like the shoe bag hanger. They would be good for my underwear Brad and shocks. And you could maybe cut them off to fit on the wall by the couch for bathroom items and curling irons and stuff. You have given me great ideas. Enjoy

I have not seen anyone else keep things in suitcases that you won’t be needing for awhile. Not only the winter clothes but all the extra consumables. Everyone else seemed to be cramming it all on extra shelving etc. some of the people’s cabins are SO full of stuff it would make me crazy.

We get laundry done 3 times a week and they added 3 laundry rooms on 3 different floors.

It sounds like a dream come true situation, but I don’t think it would be for me. I think I’d get tired of the same eating options day after day after day after day. When you’re on a cruise meals are special, but for nine months, I don’t think that would be the case.

Saw you had packing cubes, but took everything out of them. I love packing cubes and keep my things organized in them while either on board or a hotel.
No way could I leave home for 9 months! Just was on a 16-day cruise and that was plenty long for me.

@Cat3rgrl That's a great question! Repacking clothes into vacuum bags at the end of a journey using the hand pump or the cabin attendant's vacuum to reseal the bags could do the trick. It'll be a mini packing adventure! 😄🧳👕🌪️💼
