I've been waiting for y'all to react to this! I did a short stitch in the Army, my oldest did 8 yrs in the Coast Guard, and my youngest son just started his re-enlistment in the Marines. He is a Sgt. now. My Grandfather was in the Army and his older brother was in the Air Force during WW2. So these Military songs really get me. Thank you Sir, for your service.
Has a special place in my heart. A relative of mine a few decades ago was driving a very powerful small Ford, in the U.S., lost control, crashed into a tree at speed & was catapalted through the wind screen, (no seat belts back then), & landed on the 'hood'. A passer by reported that the young man was then lifted by some force & laid gently on the ground! He lived, his son is a pastor in the U.S. True story.
Private Malone is more of a man than I will ever be. Think of it, this guy first kinda rips off Malone's widow by buying the car for only $1000, THEN he goes and totals Malone's dream car. BUT, being the military man that he was, Malone still saves the guy's life. Total integrity.
It's not a old Chevy... But I am now driving a 20+ year old pick-up...it will always be Daddy's truck...I've almost been in 5 accidents since Daddy passed away. Every time I hear Daddy's voice in my head tellin me to do something I do it. It saves me every time. I will never sell it. Daddy was a Vietnam/Korean war veteran. He made it back whole, physically and mentally. I will always miss him. He left a huge hole in my life.
So, I grew up in south central Kansas. There was a corvette that sat in one of my neighbors back yard for as long as I can remember. It was blue, white top and white interior. Can’t remember the year, but he wouldn’t sell it. Like this song, it belonged to his son we didn’t make it home from Vietnam.
I actually have pictures of a 1967 Shelby Mustang this guy found in a barn he was about to rip down on a piece of property he bought. He went it, just before the wreckers were going to knock it down. It had less then 5000 miles on it. The owner's son died in Vietnam. I honestly have pictures
I was so blessed to be able to see him perform this live at the Opry before he released it. As a military brat thrice over sitting with my dad and then stepmom, it made me ball.
Great reaction, love this song. I love Dragons Milk! I think it tastes like chocolate and mint, kinda reminds me of a cold York peppermint patty dipped in whipped cream.
Love this song!!! I actually got to meet David Ball and got to go on stage with a friend of mine... had a blast and even met the whole band!!! It was over 12 yrs ago but a great night!!!
This is a great song, I only heard this for the first time on the radio a couple weeks ago. Another song you should react to is Wait in the truck by Hardy. Y'all would really enjoy it i think.

Man, you can't beat a good story in a country song. One of the things country music does best is tell stories - not all the songs, but most of the best songs, are telling a story. Another great car song is "455 Rocket" by Kathy Mattea! Also by her, Lonesome Standard Time, Time Passes By, and Patiently Waiting. A few others I recommend: Suzy Bogguss - Outbound Plane, Hey Cinderella Mary Chapin Carpenter - I Feel Lucky, I Take My Chances, Passionate Kisses Patti Loveless - Timber I'm Falling in Love, You Can Feel Bad, I Try to Think About Elvis, I'm That Kind of Girl Carlene Carter - I Fell In Love, Every Little Thing Lorrie Morgan - Watch Me, Except for Monday, Something in Red Pam Tillis - Don't Tell Me What to Do, Cleopatra Queen of Denial, When You Walk in the Room, In Between Dances Tanya Tucker - If Your Heart Ain't Busy Tonight, Hangin' In, Two Sparrows in a Hurricane, Down to My Last Teardrop, It Won't Be Me Trisha Yearwood - There Goes My Baby, Like We Never Had a Broken Heart, Wrong Side of Memphis Reba McEntire - Why Haven't I Heard From You, Take It Back, Whoever's in New England, How Was I to Know Sawyer Brown - Thank God For You, The Walk, Trouble on the Line, Drive Me Wild Mark Chesnutt - Bubba Shot the Jukebox, Old Flames Have New Names, It Sure is Monday Tracy Byrd - The First Step, Holdin' Heaven, Lifestyles of the Not So Rich And Famous Tracy Lawrence - If the World Had a Front Porch, Can't Break it to My Heart, Is That a Tear Hal Ketchum - Small Town Saturday Night( do NOT watch the official video), Hearts Are Gonna Roll, Past the Point of Rescue Sammy Kershaw - Cadillac Style, Don't Go Near the Water, Anywhere But Here, National Working Woman's Holiday Randy Travis - Deeper Than the Holler, I Won't Need You Anymore (Always and Forever), Too Gone Too Long, I Told You So Clint Black - No Time to Kill, No Time to Kill, Nothin' But the Taillights, Like the Rain Joe Diffie - If the Devil Danced in Empty Pockets, John Deere Green, Bigger Than the Beatles, Ships That Don't Come In, New Way to Light Up an Old Flame (Apologies for the long list, I've been binging your channel but hadn't commented yet! Believe me, this was holding back...)

If I found a '66 Vette barn find for $1,000. After buying it my first thought would be to clean her up and sell her for a huge profit. But I agree, once I found the note, there would be no way in hell I could sell her. I think I would show her and have the note framed to show with her.

I checked out an original 66 Vette that was loaded with a 427 4 speed. The front was cratered because the guy had more go than stop. Drum breaks on a car that was light and with 425 plus horsepower and bias ply skinny tires, lol.
First great song, made me tear up a bit. Now onto the bourbon. I get the spearmint, then a nice caramel that rolls into cinnamon and finishes with Oak. Nice complex and damn tasty.

Maybe. I think I'd have to be in a mood of some sort to want to hear this. It's a great song, but I'm not sure. Kind of a "downer," really, and I try to avoid those in most of my playlists. - Keith
