I think everyone initially had low expectations. Most hood movies don’t hold up to some of the greats like Menace 2 Society, Boyz N The Hood or New Jack City. Paid In Full is definitely up there.

Wood Harris is that dude bro. One of my favorite actors ever. This story needed to be told, this is a cautionary tale young ones, steer clear of this lifestyle at all costs. Your closest ones will be the first to do you in. So much opportunity if you play the legal route, life is a game, if you figure out the system you can exploit it to the fullest. The drug game only leads to wicked shit. You reap what you sow. Play the long game baby, nothing that lasts comes fast.
That Saab 900 turbo was the ish back in 88. Throw some BBS's on that bizch and you was a made man. Loved this movie for the nostalgia. Not only did it show the hood and the bad of the game, it also showed the love and the hate in the hood. The music was fire too. Talk about the dopest soundtrack to a lifestyle at that time. 85-03 was straight fire!

His crew was known for extortion, drug dealing, robbery, kidnapping and killing. His top lieutenants would kidnap their enemies, torture them and eventually kill them. One of his lieutenants was a cop for the Housing Authority police department. Some of his crew members were known as "janitors" because they'd clean up the blood and body parts afterwards. Allegedly, they even kidnapped Bobby Brown and had Whitney Houston pay the ransom money because Bobby owed money to drug dealers in New Jersey. Mitch (or Rich Porter)'s uncle was part of the crew, which is why he's with him in the movie. Clarence was eventually caught and pleady guilty to his charges. He's currently serving life in prison.
I remember Esai Morales from the 80's film The Principal and he still has the same mannerisms and acting style as back then it's crazy. Great actor just like Wood Harris.

It took me the 3rd time watching this movie to realize this. They show the wealth of lulu and the flossin of mitch. Ace says lulu dresses nice and you see mitch dressed street nice. Lulu says he doesnt need a car. And mitch out there with a brand new Saab. Ace compares the two and sees that although Lulu doesnt look like a drug dealer he can tell he is and has A LOT of money. He also points out he doesnt go outside to make business while mitch going to the store ( w/ the people who soon kidnap his little brother) to do business.

This scene was a foreshadowing of Ace’s come up and Mitch’s downfall. Meeting with LuLu starting the come up, meeting with Tommy and Ice starting the downfall.
It took me the 3rd time watching this movie to realize this. They show the wealth of lulu and the flossin of mitch. Ace says lulu dresses nice and you see mitch dressed street nice. Lulu says he doesnt need a car. And mitch out there with a brand new Saab. Ace compares the two and sees that although Lulu doesnt look like a drug dealer he can tell he is and has A LOT of money. He also points out he doesnt go outside to make business while mitch going to the store ( w/ the people who soon kidnap his little brother) to do business.
