I can understand not wanting to support the newer games because of Activision as a company, but to hate them without playing them is something else. This dev is insane.
Same I never buy Activision games anymore and crash and Spyro were the first time in a long ass time.

I don't think Guyus hates new Crash because he can't buy the game, he actually mentions that he finds it hard to socialise because his interests don't align with people his age, and I'd say that's probably what the issue for him is. Crash, for him, is something in the past and part of his childhood and seeing it modernised brings it into the modern world which he detests and feels like he doesn't belong in.
Fun fact btw from listening to your debates, I'm pretty sure Guyus uses a voice modulator. The only part where he isn't using it is when he says "can you hear me now?" at the beginning of the second part.
You're right. Guyus treats the Ducktales reboot with the same vitriol as does with the newer Crash games, and he has access to the Disney channel. Guyus just hates change.

When the Titans games came out, I was probably the number #1 hater, I still bought the games and only finished titans, not mutant. I still hated it not because they were bad games but because the characters were completely unrecognizable. I wasn't the only one, there was many Crash fans who really did not like the new designs and we rated the trailer 1 star back on the old youtube.
I recently went back to replay them and when I heard Tiny I cringed so... my opinion is still the same, decent games but awful design choices.
This to say that, sometimes modern does not mean better. Team Rumble is another horrible mess but the N.Sane Trilogy, CTRNF and Crash 4 are all pretty good.

I don't mind the "inspiration" he got from them, but I feel kinda bad doing it as I don't want to associate with someone who sends threats to people.

Personally I think the guy had this project on his PC for a long time before the NS trilogy was announced so he wanted to be THE guy who revived crash bandicoot so when the NSane game come out and he couldn't take that tittle he become mad about it

He reminds me of the ND Crash purists in 2000s and early 2010s. It’s interesting the sentiment has shifted a lot over the years since his type was pretty common. It’s like he got stuck in a time loop. It’s weird his criticisms would have been agreed with before Crash had a revival.
Tbf Activision still fucking sucks and it's was more of a miracle and fluke that Crash 4 turned out well, especially since Vicarious Visions wasn't involved
Not really sure on that given ND purists seemed to be satisfied with the Activision games [given all of them were remakes and the one original mainline game so far was pretty faithful to the originals]. Even nowadays the stuff in-between is generally debated [though if you ask me Twinsanity basically succeeded at making a modernized next-gen formula for Crash that struck the right balance between keeping the series' identity while updating it for the next gen and the fact that they just didn't build off of that was debatably even more of a missed opportunity than the cut content in the game itself]
@@ShadowEclipse777 Something I find interesting is how Crash was kind of inspired by Looney Tunes, and both franchises from their beginnings up to this very day have been caught between the creatives actually trying to make something good and the higher-ups just seeing them as little more than sources of income. Obviously most major franchises in any medium tend to have these kinds of clashes, but it feels like Crash and Looney Tunes have a particularly huge contrast between the different creative teams that have worked on both over the years each pouring love and respect for each series into the installments they make and how often higher-ups tend to screw them over by only thinking about the business side of things

This 30 year old man and RH are the prime example of what NOT to do when making a fangame. Fangames are supposed to be about passion. Creating something to pay tribute to the franchise regardless of what you think of some of the official games. Creating games like this in a desperate attempt to take the fans' attention away from the official products because of how much he hates the modern games, as well as adding malware to remove two games he hates (which I'm pretty sure is illegal), only proves to me that RH could never, nor will it ever be the "Sonic Mania" of Crash Bandicoot.
Adding malware is a serious cybercrime. It results in big fines and possible jail time.

I was unfortunate enough to be in a Discord server with Guyus about 2 years ago. He’s always been VERY mentally unstable and 100% genuine with his views.
I remember trying to give him some advice on how to make his game look less like a cheap unity asset flip. Looking at the footage here, it seems like he actively ignored my advice. lol
Anyways, he ended up getting booted from that same server after getting mad about Netflix movie adaptations, calling someone mentally ill and eventually saying they should kill themself. Even before he got booted he was always whinging about the current state of Crash and Ducktales, always on thin ice.
It’s funny since it’s been 2 years since I’ve actually interacted with him, I see people still talking about him from time to time without having to even actively look for it. That’s how I came across this video actually!

I was in the discord group when this game was starting out production. Guyus was the admin of the group. I was never active in the group but the guy kept messaging me and I ignored most of it. Eventually it got annoying so I just left the server and removed Guyus. I remember seeing a lot of hate for Crash 4 and anything new Crash related, like the N. sane trilogy. Never knew he'd go to such lengths as getting rid of the games from your computer with this. Seems like I dodged a bullet.
I'm glad that in the Brazilian Crash Bandicoot fandom we are all friendly with each other and we don't have any crazy people like that lol

So this guy hates the new crash games despite NEVER playing it and made a fan game that was basically a virus that would deleted the new crash games from your computer
The question is, how did he manage to put a virus that would delete games that he never own in the first place, wouldn't that required owning the games in order for the virus to work?
Basically, it would delete any folders named after N. Sane Trilogy and Crash 4. which would delete the folders and all of their contents. Hope this explains it to you.

@@Vaguer_Weevil Nah, you would just have to re download the games from Steam. Although I heard from someone, that if you bought Crash 4 on Battlenet, the save files would get deleted too. But I don't know how true that is.
Honestly I can understand satirical jokes mocking other games (If the jokes actually land) but the way this guy has executed his game is purely hateful, I couldn't imagine any of these people who were doing lets plays in this video being comfortable because this level is just disturbing, unoriginal and boring, at least make some kind of dry humour joke like modern sitcom cartoons like Family guy make..

Of course, my claim was that the remakes are disrespectful to me as a fan of turn-based RPG, not that anyone who likes them should die. And yet, I can feel his passion for respecting the classic. Of course, I can't feel for him being a horrible human being...
Same here with ff7r. Og fans bitching that the games bad because it isn’t turn based. It’s a remake not a remaster. So stories and gameplay will be altered. It’s fine to dislike it but disrespecting the hard work and passion devs made makes them look like a butthurt purist fanboy and not a consumer they always have the originals.

if someone doesn’t like the newer names and/or doesn’t want to play them, that’s perfectly fine. But in Guyus case, he has way too much of an obsession hating the newer ones, to the point of calling people the hard R for disagreeing and do several other things that were shown in the video. After all this, I’m really just hoping Guyus can get some therapy, because whatever happened in the past messed him up extremely badly in the head.
I've been watching this whole ordeal from afar, you know, as you do with people like this, and the one thing I've always found absolutely hilarious is how Guyus will spout slurs and other bigoted shit (his hatred towards Catbat specifically has an... Didn't even know this was a thing/was happening. Bro, it's crash Bandicoot, it is not that fucking serious! In cases like this, I feel like the answer is so obvious and easy to understand. You don't have to play it to know how you feel about it, just watch gameplay and see what did work and didn't work for you and just go from there. Hide the negatives, accentuate the positives. Have fun with it, and while you can take it seriously, it shouldn't be to the point that it is now. You've tainted your own game and all the good will it may have had and the support of others can really take you far! Just lean into that and make your passion work for you. you're right about one thing, he doesn't own the IP at all, Activision does they've owned it since 2008 because Universal Interactive / Vivendi Games / Sierra Entertainment nearly killed the franchise, how do I know because I read the archives, Activision kept their promise to Naughty Dog to bring Crash back from the ground up in 4 remakes and follow up to the direct sequel Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, but retro hijinx on the other hand it's not saving the crash franchise, the community or the fandom, it's destroying it, I've played the N. Sane Trilogy, Nitro Fueled and It's About Time along with Team Rumble too, I love them and I think they're very excellent games so retro hijinx is going to suck and it already has.
Speaking of Activision, I'm planning also copy the link of that abomination of a fan-game to them immediately.

I didn't even know that could happen, since it would have to go in and access your Steam and everything. It's scary to think that's possible, especially with dudes like this causing it. Also such a weird use for a malware.. He strikes me as the type of guy who could be the best hacker in the world, but only uses that power to unlock and freely use all emojis in any Twitch stream for himself.
It merely deletes your game files.
The batch file is easy to remove and recovering your game files isn't hard if you backed them up on a hard drive.
Guyus couldn't delete my files because I had them on back up, so once I deleted Retro Hijinx. I imported my files back.
Because Guy who knew too much actually knows too little.
And forget that steam has it's own back up system.

I would love to see that too. The guy is clearly talented! He just is mentally unstable. And many people (including myself) have tried making peace with him. But he has proven time after time that he doesn't want peace. I normally don't like making assumptions off people (especially on the internet) but I'm genuinely believe he thrives off drama that's why he makes as many callout posts as he does.

I agree with you, Remake from different developer would really help Retro Hijinx. It has its potentional - which is butchered by Guyus...And ideas like Crash in Savanna or in Mexican Era sounds interesting but he butchered it...

Guyus should've just focused on his stupid game getting finished already, minus the hatred vibe, it really broke that 'geniune' immersion that he wanted to implement so badly. Glad I never played Retro Hijinx once, a textbook example of "how to not make a fangame", not to mention, shovelware levels of bad.

I'm glad I wasn't aware of this game, so I should consider this video as a warning on being wary of fan games like this, before it's too late.
Though to be honest, I don't like Activision for what they represent in the modern age. But I will say compared to this, their mainline Crash games look much more enjoyable, much more faithful to the source material, aren't littered with creepypasta content and most importantly, are much less likely to damage my computer!

this guy is like a parody of crazy fans like i get why someone would be biased against the newer games even over very minor things i haven't played the new cash games just because i am lazy they seem better than the "titans" era games and a return to the old school crash but i am always sceptical of the new games. but i am an adult i am not going to start this much drama over really any video game let alone one that isn't even bad. like i would get a little salty if they made the newer crash games like a mobile fortnite clone or have the original game play but turn crash unto a zoomer that vapes and having a mumble rap soundtrack .but they didn't do that and even then i would just be complaining in the comments not making a game with malware to just hate on it

Also, now that I'm thinking about Guyus' toxicities online, I've seen him attacking and harassing others on DeviantArt which those violates DeviantArt's policy.
And now knowing that he hasn't played the Activision Crash games and hates them, that does not give him a right to attack people, who enjoys the Activision Crash games, with those hate-filled harassment posts on both DeviantArt and CZcams.
Plus, I played the Activision Crash games (both the N. Sane Trilogy and Crash 4) and they're still playable and I have enjoyed playing Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fuelled, since I'm fun with Spyro, Crash, Coco and Tawna as my mains.
So yeah, I actually liked the Activision Crash games such as Crash N. Sane Trilogy, Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fuelled and Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, but is it a bad thing? No. But dose this give Guyus the right to harass me? Again, the answer is no.
Like I said before, even I liked the Activision Crash games, I still liked the Naughty Dog Crash games to this day, just like I liked both the Modern Sonic games and the Classic Sonic games (even despite there're few rare exceptions, regardless of their qualities).
Guyus the Raptor is NOT saving the Crash Bandicoot franchise, he's actually ruining the series with his crappy game called Crash Bandicoot: Retro Hijinx and if you want a better Crash Bandicoot fangame with PS1-style graphics and gameplay, play and support Crash Bandicoot: Back in Time. Never play Retro Hijinx, instead avoid Retro Hijinx.
