- In this video I will restore a Hot Wheels Redline Custom Volkswagen for a subscriber. This car has the metal discoloration issues we have seen in the past so I painted this car with "metal" paint and then over sprayed with pink urethane.

Excellent. Good video production. Concise and the project moves along well. Bravo!
I don't even really care about hotwheels but there is something super interesting about these restorations
That's a awesome restoration on all die cast toy cars it's a good hobby if you don't have a real car
Why is the motor in the front? Wtf Mattel?
It's a custom beetle.
GamersWithOutAReason I was going to say the same thing
That-Guy-With-Shades We know that but it would be impossible to put an engine in the front it's just weird
That-Guy-With-Shades same
Eastwood Unforgiven true
Excellent restoration! Very smooth! 👍🏽
Given what you had to start with, in my opinion, you did an excellent job! It's always nice to see an original Redline saved! Great video!
Wow, that colour seriously pops
Cool video as usual. Mad Max up next? Yay!
Beautiful restoration, looks great.
I really like the attention to detail, you're awesome!
Wow! What a beautiful difference!!
Very relaxing voice and instructing..really great to watch. I have an old friend who is great at this .. restored a Cord and a Paddy wagon redline for me . i also and my favorite Jack Rabbit Special white interior from the 70s cartoon series. And still own an original mountain adventure logging truck in the yellow in really great condition. Still keep looking at what i might do next.
I literally do not know shit about Hot Wheels nor have I played with them as a kid. But man, this channel is so relaxing, kinda like ASMR.
His videos are really satisfying
You got my Sub. Enjoy these video for many reasons, one is seeing cars I have not seen since the 80's. thank you.
i am from brazil and i love your job, continue making more projects, you are amazing...
Just yesterday I couldn't care less about toy car restoration, now here I am watching all these videos grinning like an idiot. These videos are really great, and especially now they restore my faith in youtube.
All your work is terrific and well done. I have bought some restored cars that used a painted undercoat like this and they can be appealing and pretty at first, but i find that over time I become unsatisfied with them because it just doesn't look like metal. Now I feel that I would rather see a car with some nicks and gouges in it than to see a painted base finish. To me it doesn't look like a spectraflame paint job any more, it just looks like it was sprayed with a metalflake paint. I like to be able to see the metal under the clear paint. I prefer your work with zinc and want to learn how to do that.
A long time ago, I used to paint bodies for slot cars. A trick that I used back then will undoubtedly come in handy for you. Mix Elmer's white glue with water until it's quite thin and then 'paint' it on with a tiny brush where you don't want the next layer of paint to stick. It comes off with more water when dry. You can get VERY intricate using this method. I even used to paint flames on the slot cars.
Going to try that thanks!!
amazing work, you are genius.
As ever, very impressive. I really do not understand the negative feedback. Keep up the good work.
It's good to see it come back to life!
You do awesome restorations on Hot Wheels/Matchbox cars.
Had one as a kid,one of my favourite cars
love this channel
I realize it would add shooting and editing time but you should show the whole process every time
it's so therapeutic to watch!
I would end up putting out fewer videos if I did that..lol I would probably loose people also as things would get repetitive rather fast.
baremetalHW how do I contact you so I can send you a car in want restored
baremetalhw@gmail.com
These restoration videos are amazing. You are truley my favorite youtubers and a few days ago i got the deal of a life time. I got a green one of these in almost perfect condition. Only thing wrong was the wheels were bent. But since ive started watching your vids ive been making custom hot wheels like crazy and your videos have helped me alot on how to restore and make custom hot wheels. Thank you
you can get a tool to fix the bent wheels and no collector will fault you for fixing them. Thanks for watching!
Amazing transformation.
Amazing!!!!!!
Looks factory new. Great work
I don't collect or care about hot wheels, but for some reason I can't stop watching your videos :)
Honestly I like the bare metal instead of metal paint. Even with discoloration. I need to buy a lot of beaters and try restoring. I've already started looking on eBay for some to try your methods on. Looks great and keep it up!! Can't wait to see which redline is next!!!
Simply AWESOME!
Sweet job mate, the results of the VW Beetle looks astounding.
Wow! As a kid I had this one in green. Too bad none of mine are still around. Had all of the sweet 16 and would get a couple every now and then as they came out in the late '60s and early '70s.
Dang I live close too you to cool! If I find a Hot Wheel I’ll send it in👍🏼
I'm ready for another Sweet 16 restoration!!!

Только вот мелкие царапины на стекле в глаза бросаются.

Awesome work!
I dead set love the customs you do one of the best on the net very educational but aren't you giving up some of your secrets now now thumbs up 👍
Wow supersweet turnout
Thats awesome!
Looks awesome
Looks great man!!!!
Nice job! Paint looks pretty close to what was left of the original.
great resto job !
Its too bad you couldn't get some custom stickers like the original to put on there. Car looks better, but a little plain.
Consistently Random u bb
Technically he could print something on a printer with a sticker
i think you may have sanded most of the detail off. I would do the detail work on this one cause it would make it stand out more as the sanding took it away. Looks way too smooth now. A lot of the body details are gone.
beautiful...my alltime favorite Hotwheel....They never really brought that one back...I have 1 green original......rock onnn BMHW
man, thats a really REALLY cool beetle whoever was the first owner didnt do a good job of owning it! WOW!
Freaking great job
Nice to watch.
nice restauration i love bugs..
slug bugg!!! 😆💪✌
I saw vw bug with a Chevy 350 under the front trunk lid once. It was a 350 with a blower mounted to it. I never came across a VW with a Hemi bolted upfront though. Hot wheels had some killer combos back when I was a kid.
Jeez - a brand new build and you went and dinged up the decklid!
Awesome 👏
you have inspired me to restore my own vintage hot wheels, i just restored poison pinto from 1978
Saludos desde Mexico!
Awesome job
Cool vídeo tanks for shared
Although I like the original color better than the pink, this turned out to be very nice.

Harlan McGuire DUDE, ,, if you're into collecting hotwheels ; take your hobby to the next step and do it yourself!
Looks good! I would have liked to see how it would have done with more electro polishing though.
Nice job you do real nice work :)
That motor is sooooooo cute
Very pleased with this
Very cool, great Work!! I collect & show "Hot Wheels" Too!! ;-D
Beautiful :)
Quick question on that testors clear coat was it enamel or lacquer?
lacquer
Cool fix very beetle!!
Oh my, I had this exact car when I was in kindergarten! I think my mom eventually threw it away when I was about 10 or 11 years old. It was my absolute favorite of all my matchbox/hotwheels. I played the hell out of that little bug!
I still have mine. One's gold and one's green. Boy, they sure need some of this treatment!
