Obviously they're all extremely talented, they've been through training and are naturally good at singing that's why they are where they are. There isn't one of them who can't sing. So yeah, I agree that people should stop hating on certain members.
Catz1a I wish the music producers would surprise us in albums and give us songs where the members who sing less have more lines to show their own quality. No speaking lines, but actual lines where I can hear them reach for a note.

Yuri gets like one good note every album. Even Sunny is underrated as she sings a lot but has a much more powerful voice than given credit for. Tiffany, Taeyeon and Jessica sing most of the songs. Even Seohyun only really started singing after TTS began and her popularity rose

The difference between tiff and sunny is really tiny though sunny is slightly better than tiff cause sunny’s head voice is the best in snsd whereas fany’s low notes are incredibly soothing to the ear.

Ellen Abellona I wish I could agree ur list but I can't. I couldn't help but to point out. In my opinion, Seohyun should be in 2nd place. without a doubt then Sica and Fany should be in 3rd place. You can't really find the uniqueness of Seohyun's voice in any areas. Low Key, High Key and stability of the pitches she can handle pretty much everything. That's why she got casted in "Gond With The Wind" Musical. I went to that musical. Her voice is DAEBAKKKKK

People say HyoYeon can only dance and not sing, but I really like her voice as well, because it's kinda smooth and somehow soothing (as someone else said in one of the below comments, and "soothing" was just the right word so I decided to use it to describe her too)

i find hyoyeon an amazing singer. when it comes to stability of the voice, hyoyeon definitely outranks tiffany on live performances. but personally i think hyoyeon should be 6th instead of 7th. & yay sunny is finally on a good rank!

HyoYeon does have a nice and unique voice, but I think her problem is that her voice doesn't fit most of the SNSD songs 😕. She doesn't have a cute voice, more a kinda raspy one.
Anne Langenhahn Yes I agree .. Hyoyeon's voice are not fit to their common genre maybe that's why SM gave Hyoyeon a solo (MYSTERY) to show her real ability to sing while dancing.
Another thing I found with Hyo's voice is that it really improved over time. She's definitally better now-a-days than back when she first debuted. OFC you can say that about all of the girls but it really shows with Hyo

(Fany is good at low notes [she should sing more low notes than high notes] while Sunny has a really high pitched voice so she can hit HN easily)
4. Sooyoung (Her voice is amazing! Maybe that at the level of the vocal line but she's the best in the dancing line and she's better than other vocalis out there!)
5. Yul/Yoo/Hyo
(They have great voices but they need to improve their tone esp Yul and Yoo cause most of the times their too nasal but it's something that can be improve ^_^ while Hyo has an amazing tone [my opinion of course] she has a great deep tone! Maybe a little bit nasal sometimes but it can be improve)

I put Sooyoung before Yul because I think she can control her voice more than Yuri. She has a better control :) and I personally prefer Soo's tone.
And the last three of my ranking, I think Yul is higher than Hyo and Yoo.
Of course they are SNSD. FYI. Before there is no much variety show not like before, so SNSD promotes their songs on Radio Show. They sing live there (remember no auto tune in radio, so what you hear is what you get☺️) and before, in shows there will always be a karaoke segment so SNSD always showcased their vocals. That's why, whenever I read hate comments about my girls' vocals, I just laugh and think that those people are newbies and doesn't know what they're talking about. I keep calm and let their Idols speak for SNSD (the Idol's IDOL) 😊😊😊
Tiffany lacks technique and strains when it's ANYTHING over C#5. Sunny actually has the technique to hit a G6 comfortably. Her head voice is AMAZING. Taeyeon and jessica were both the number 1 vocalist. Because Although jessica doesn't have much resonance when it comes to her belted/mixed register Taeyeon had it covered BUT since Taeyeon's head voice wasn't that great that's where jessica came in. Jessica's head voice was amazing. Taeyeon and Jessica were both number 1 because where one lacked the other made up for it.

No. Jessica's mixed and belted voice lacked resonance and isn't as strong but Taeyeon made up for it and has the best belted/mixed voiced in K-pop. Jessica and Taeyeon are vocal counter parts. Jessica always did the higher harmonies while Taeyeon did the lower ones because it was easier for Jessica to go as high as she wanted so effortlessly and that's where Taeyeon struggled. She where jessica lacked Taeyeon made up for it and where Taeyeon lacked Jessica made up for it.

Wow, sooyoung surprisingly has an amazing voice. Sucks that SM doesn't use her enough. And I've always loved Hyoyeon, her voice is super stable. Tiffany has a unique voice but she lacks control and techniques. She strains her voice when reaching for high notes which they should give to Sunny bc she can hit those notes better due to her technique.

I'm sooyoung-biased, so i think her voice better than Yuri's but I'm not in the position to know who is better but if you can see in SM's opinion Yuri's is better because in almost everysong Yuri got more lines, and Sunny is absolutely above Soo&Yul.
+Irene Hong I don't think SM distributes lines according to "ranking". Yoona has sooo many lines and yet she is the weakest singer. Sooyoung today is indeed better of a singer than Yuri. Hyoyeon also. Yuri has a very low voice and can't go very high, and her voice is kinda "dry". It's not her fault, that's just how her voice is. But yeah, Sooyoung and Hyo improved a lot and they CAN hit high notes unlike Yuri. ^^
+Korean Vaporeon Yoona does not have a lot of lines, though. SM puts her in the front when dancing, because of her face, not her voice. The amount of lines one may get has usually nothing to do with they way they look. Whoever is usually dancing in the front is usually the face/visual. I am going to be honest and say that Yoona is in the front more, at least from what I see. She actually doesn't have a lot more lines than Hyoyeon, in some songs, less.
Yuri can sing high and low notes but SM doesn't match Yuri in high notes because its harder to sing for her. And her voice can be airing. So Yuri is like a head tone mix voice. Sooyoung has that powerful voice but can be crumbly like Hyoyeon but she is good in high notes also. I think both Yuri and Sooyoung are equal.
+baemhyun "You Think" would be a great example for your point. I am Yuri biased and i noticed that Yoona, yuri, and seohyun are usually in the middle. EX:genie I don't understand why the tallest member (sooyoung )wouldn't be in the middle alot more.
Since Jessica's departure Sooyoung is in the middle during the whole second chorus and during Jessica's part that she covers. When Jessica was still a member, Yuri was in the middle during the beginning of the second chorus.

Hyeyeon has special voice than the others in the team. When she sings, I can easily recognize her voice

I don't know why people hate Tiffany? Golden TALENT, VOCALS, VISUAL, STAGE PRESENCE, AMAZING PERFORMER, as well as an AMAZING PERSON EVER, kind and positivity overflows around her and of course her smile that light up everything. true enough, that people hate a person whos close to be perfect, Tiffany definitely GOT ALL OF EM, that's why they're so pressed.

tiffany got vocal surgery. that's why she can't sing as she used to. I can't remember what kind of surgery but it is popular among singers because they sing a lot and strain their vocal core. search it up

If you are trying to say Jessica is the best among SNSD, I think you're failed. Jessica's voice is sweet and unique but unstable. And she just can sing some particular kinds of music like pop, ballad so her voice is one colour. And when she sings live, her voice often get cracked, shaky... I think she's been overrated.

i'm sone and i know they all can sing but i guess it's not so obvious bcuz the other members ( yoona, hyo , yuri, sooyoung) don't get enough vocal training like Taeyeon or sunny or tiff or seo that's why they don't shine enough , and even sunny and seo don't get the same amount of training like taengoo anf fanny .. if they do ... SNSD WILL BE UNSTOPPABLE... and i totally understand why u didn't include jessie so it's okay and we know she can sing too

3. Tiffany (she should just stay @ her range and everything will be beautiful)

5. Yuri (i remember her having more lines than Fany during their early years, she's really stable, i'd put her @ 4th or 3rd when it comes to stability, but Sunny and Fany have wider range and better @ technique)
