- From the early 1930s and 1940s, when Jùju music was prevalent only in Yorubaland, to the early 1970s, when the music had become a popular genre across the country, to the 1980s, which saw both a short-term decline and, later, a resurgence of Jùju music with the release of Shina Peter's remarkable "Ace" album, the Jùju music we listen to and enjoy today has undergone many changes in terms of instrumentation, melodies and recording. A lot of great musicians(artists) have contributed immensely to the development of the music.
In this this video, I’ll be showing you 10 musicians that have had the greatest impact on the music.

Sir please can we get the songs in this video?
Ambrose Campbell nko?
Sunny Ade was born into Ondo royal family not Akure
This could have been more interesting if the pictures of these legends was shown… It should have been like a documentary, not just a narration. Thanks.
Ambrose Campbell is widely acknowledged by all these musicians as the father of Jùjú music and the first to expose Jùjú music to an international audience in London, UK. He never got much recognition for his work unfortunately.
I don't think Ambrose Campbell did juju music. It is true that a lot of juju musicians borrowed from his composition but he did highlife and folk music.
Dele Abiodun could have been up there with Sunny Ade and Ebenezer Obey.
But he refused to sing the praises of local business men.
Please what is the song at around the 5 minute mark?
Check for 'Live live juju music by King Sunny Ade' The song was part of KSA's performance in Seattle in the early 80s. It's on my channel.
Yorubas run this music thing tbh
monster truck
Ambrose Campbell???? SEGUN ADEWALE was born in 1949.
What about Dizzy k, kujore
Dizzy K did funk not juju. Dayo Kujore was good but I don't think he a had as much impact as those mentioned in the video.
@@SongTown What of emperor Pick Peters? KSA is from Ondo, not Akure
Ambrose Campbell, Ahuja Bello etc would be better than kokoro ewa who DIDN'T play juju, BUT sakara...
Who told you Kokoro played sakara? Go do your research about Kokoro the blind minstrel.
