Kenchii Flash 5 Clipper Review

- 12/31/21 EDIT: I did hear back pretty quickly from Kenchii. The conversation was not what I was hoping to hear. The Flash 5 does NOT and will NOT work with any other brand of 5 in 1 blades! Only it's own blades. I pointed out that written material that came with the clipper is very misleading as it says that the Flash 5 WILL work with Wahl and Andis 5 in 1 clippers and even lists all the models. The rep's response is was a "miscommunication" and that the clipper will ONLY work with Wahl and Andis GUARD COMBS - not the blades. So I am left with the decision of whether I want to invest in additional blades to keep the Flash 5. Kenchii - which has great customer service, btw was very kind and sent me a free 5 in 1 fine blade to try. So for now I have decided to keep the clipper. That was, until, the stock blade that came with the Flash 5 began dragging through coats. This was the day after I spoke to Kenchii and only about a week after receiving the clipper. So I am back on the fence again. The new blade during my holiday vacation. So for now, I will give it a try. However, I am not quite as optimistic as I was in the beginning. My overall rating for the Flash 5 - 3 out of 5 stars.

I bought the Kenchii Fash 5 at the ATL Pet Expo a couple weeks ago. One sales lady said it is compatible with Wahl 5 in 1 blade, another sales lady said it wasn't. I got home and tried to attach a Wahl and found out it was not compatible. But lucky for me I am a bather learning to groom. I had not already owned the Bruvera and invested in Bruvera blades so I kept the Kenchii clipper bcz I love the look of it. I bought the Tiger print clipper. If I already had the Bruvera and it's blades, I would've tried to return the Kenchii. As far as guard combs go, I had already made up my mind to buy the Wahl combs instead of Kenchii combs. Thank you for posting your review. It has been very helpful.
As a groomer looking for a new 5-1, this video is exactly what I was searching for in regards to the flash 5. Thank you for discussing the different blades and if they work, so helpful!

Thanks for the additional comments added today. I'm been researching clippers for my standard poodle. The Kenchii 5 caught my attention this morning, but now I think I'm going to pass on this one.
Wow, did they even test to see if the blades fit??? I never use the attachment combs for my Wahl Arco so that’s not a problem for me.. but the claim for interchangeable blades fitting is unbelievable. I just ordered mine today. 😵💫Thanks for the great review.
Thanks, great video I just bought shernbao 5 in 1 clipper and it's exactly, no difference and have the same problem with the Combs. I will return this combs to buy Wahl combs
Hi Denise!! Thank you for the thorough review video! I was wondering if you got any word back from Kenchii regarding the blade switching issue between your Kenchii blade and your Wahl blades? I work in a big corporate salon and Wahl 5 in 1s are really accessible, while Kenchii are not, but i really love these clippers! They would be my first personal cordless set!
I have blades left over from when I had Kenchii clippers before and was disappointed to find out they don’t fit the Kenchii 5. To find out it was a failed attempt to make them compatible with other brands is just infuriating
I am looking at the 5 IN 1 kenchii flash 5 for grooming my Silky Terrier and Yorkshire Terrier at home. Do you think it would do their whole body?
Bought flash 5 attachments and they won’t slide on. Any suggestions. Kenchii visors were no help
Hey, not sure if you've tried it or not yet, but I'm using an Andis 5 n 1 blade on mine. I just used my Dremel to shave the little part that kept my blade from going flush with the clippers and it works like a charm.

Hey Denise! I know this might be a dumb question but do the wahl guard combs work with the flash 5?? Also I loved your video and can’t wait to get my flash!!!!
Yes they do. I recommend that people use them in place of the Kenchii until the issue with them grinding with the blade is addressed.
Hi Denise, do you know if wahl combs are standard combs or wahl 5 in 1 combs?
I found that the Wahl blades will work if you clip off the little L shape lip on the blade itself. I am still waiting for Kenshii blades. It seems as though they have been out of stock for almost 2 months

However I am in desperate need of help and can’t seem to find a video on how this is done. I took apart my Kenchi flash5 standard combo blade(the one it came with)
To get all the hair that was stuck And now I can’t figure out how to put it back together.
I’m sure it’s so easy but I have been trying and my little brain can’t figure it out.
PLEASE any advice will help.
Hi Denise so I just bought the kenchii flash do you know if the guard combs would fit on that one as well?
I have never cared for the Bravura's attachment combs. They work but when you clip with the regular Wahl A5 attachment combs compared to the shorter blades of the Bravura's attachment combs, they don't pick up as much hair to be cut as Wahl's regular A5 attachment combs which have longer metal blades to pick up hair to be cut. The Flash5's attachment combs seem to be longer than the Bravura's from your video- do you have any standard Wahl A5 attachment combs (the same colored ones but for regular clippers) to compare the length of the Flash5's attachment comb blades to tell me if they're the same length? If the Flash5's are as long as Wahl's regular attachment combs I would be interested in getting these clippers!
Can you use just normal blades with these clippers?
No. You can only use Kenchiis 5 in 1 blades that are designed for this clipper.
Horrible product. I demanded a full refund and got it after discovering it was a faulty product
