Here's a tour of NYU's Brittany Hall (55 E 10th St, NY, NY). A lot of people and websites will tell you Brittany hall is one of the best freshman residence halls, but please don't take any offense to this vid caption if you like a different dorm better hahaha - each dorm has it's own pros and cons
IF YOU'RE A NEW COMER TO NYU (class of 2024) then congrats!! I left this really honest so that you could get a glimpse of what life is really like here. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you wanna talk about anything or ask any questions!
In this brief video, I'll bring you through a quick tour of Brittany Hall- starting from what the street looks like outside, then through the lobby-area, then the hallways, and then finally through my suite- I live in a five person suite (a triple connected to a double). Brittany hall either consists of these rooms of 5, or a regular double. By the time that I filmed this, most people had already left campus for spring break so that's why the hall looks a bit empty.

im still in high school (junior year) and nyu has been my dream for almost a year but after reading through some stuff i have been having second thoughts (especially because of the tuition fees and debt after graduating), i wanted to ask, is all that worth?
it really depends on your situation, but yea the financials is also a negative weight when it comes to pricey schools like nyu. maybe just evaluate all your options and try to see which might be the best choice in the long run

do they pick it for you? or can you pick the dorm?
You rank your options and they take your rankings into consideration, but ultimately they assign you! Hope this helps :)

I just found out I’m going to be living in Brittany hall and I was wondering if every room comes with the fridge and microwave?
Yes! Each room comes with a fridge and microwave thankfully 😊
Are students allowed to bring their own furniture in the dorm, like brining a chair or a shelf? (Applying ED1 for class 2025, haven't gotten the offer but I'm already fantasizing LOL)

hi, i hope you don’t mind me asking, but is this dorm one of the “low cost” rooms? i’m an upcoming freshman who opted for the low cost option and i’m just wondering if this is what my room might look like :)
hi!! yes I think it is : ) since it has so many people, its cheaper than an option with just two people but it's also a very common layout!
so there are plenty of low cost rooms like this that are quite common on the floors
Did you apply to be in a triple then nyu sets u up to be connected with a double or??? is this a suite? Sorry, i might be wrong abt all this
I think if you apply for the triple they will try to assign you to the triple, but if you apply for the double , you can either get placed in a room with just a double or a room with a double that’s connected to a triple :)

I got the Hall I wanted! I was allowed to rank my preferences but ultimately they assigned me to one based on my preferences

i'ts been a few years since I've dormed, but i'm pretty sure they don't give out bedsheets so I would bring everything!
Are those three closer sections in the common area the closet space for the triple room? Or is this extra space for everyone? My daughter was placed in a triple and wanted to know how much closet space each person gets. Thx

Both the fridge and microwave came with the room!!

Do dorms and houses vary on prices? Was this very expensive?
they vary in price- you can find out the specific prices on their site; but yes i would generally say housing is pretty expensive.. a cheaper alternative could be searching for an apartment on your own : ) many people move out of NYU dorms/housing after their first year

yep! I bought them at target and used them all year!

I think on campus housing can often be pricier than better deals you can find on your own- generally dorming tends to be a somewhat pricey option compared to getting an off campus apartment
The upside is that housing is much closer to campus tho!
ive like always wanted to go to nyu but idk if i can get in. i want to study business and i was told it’s a really good place to go plus a good place to start a business and i really hope i get accepted

yes!! you can opt for a single but they will be more expensive
how much you pay for the dorm
i think it was pretty expensive... D ; you can find the room and board prices online and it varies by dorm and by room arrangements

Can you choose your halls
you can rank your preferences for them and then they assign you based on that-but you don't always get your top picks unforunately. Once you've been assigned, there are also ways you can switch throughout the year if extra space somehow opens up
