This looks fine... but I liked it more that Megatronus was a gladiator turned politician who worked with Orion Pax to try and improve Decepticon/Autobot relations, but it fell through when Orion became a Prime over him.
That's the Megatron version of prime which is cool but tbh transformers change so many time, their continuity that there isn't a definitive origins
That's fair... hopefully this movie gives a good justification as to these two friends becoming widely different persons (who then war against each other).
This looks awful. I hate how they turned Megatron into Magneto over the years.

Very different tone than I was expecting. I'm fine with the fun tone... For now. But I hope we go darker for future films, as the war for Cybertron comes to the forefront.

@saintcarreyett I said it's fine. But the War for Cybertron (which hasn't started in this film) is a darker story. It's a Civil War pitting two sides of the same race. Brother against brother. Cybertron is decimated. This supposedly takes place in the same universe as the live-action films, and the Bumblebee film specifically shows the chaos and lives at stake. This is war. The tone would need to evolve, down the line. But the trailer looks fun, and I'm down to watch.

The scenes which showed Optimus Prime, Megatron and the newly forged Decepticon emblem seems different from the rest of the trailer's tone

You do realise not many of the mkvie going audience know who Orion Pax is, so will not make that much of a difference to box office.
My God. We have been asking for a Transformers movie set during the age of cybertron for decades. The tone looks entirely off, and this movie seems to be far more reliant on being a comedy than telling the origins of a war that caused the complete destruction of their own planet. What wasted potential.
I agree, they likely didn’t even do any research on any of the lore and just went with what they knew

This looks like a spoof of TF, and the voices are not good, especially Megatron. But tbf, they are probably aiming this one at kids.

Because transformers has always been and will continue to be primarily for kids, not solely for teenagers and adults. Not every every movies needs to be mature and dark in order to be great. 🙄

It looks like this movie takes place at the very start of cybertron history when the quintessons created the cybertronian race to do their bidding but like in other continuities they gained the power to transform and fought back, I am guessing this cause as it seems there are no cities on cybertron yet and we see a quintesson in a small scene in the trailer, it is a wild approach though and I don't know if I like it much
These trailers that give away the whole movie and are still so dumb that it seems exactly like a SNL short
I didn’t expect bumblebee to be in this movie, but it’s probably all for the toy sales I guess, but it should of been someone older like ultra magness.

Remember he is not the wise leader because he hasn't acquired the matrix of leadership. That changes his personality by making him a wise leader. He is not that leader yet as the trailer explains. His defense is different as he is not yet mature as it states he is Orion Pax.

Well idk about anyone else, but I'm hopeful and can't wait to watch this film. It's fun, looks pleasing to the eye(for me), and I'm not too upset with the casting

Optimus wasn't always a prime and he wasn't always Optimus either in the past, he is Orion Pax. Before Megatron, in my view he was Megatronus, one of the 13 original primes. Wait a minute, is Scarlett Johansson voice acting as Elita One ? No way. It's perfect. I can imagine that this is going to be an insane movie this year. Looking foward to watch this movie as transformers fan myself

I think the G1 cartoons had a more serious plot than it seems like this movie will... which is a shame. I just want a Transformer movies that takes Transformers seriously. Didn't they learn anything from Mudflap and Skids? Well, guess not since the Transformers movies after that were unwatchable. Instead, I'll just look forward to the G1/table read tours that Cullen and Welker are doing this year.
