The story of the 79 coins in shadow of the colossus is really cool. Basically, a ton of people spent years in the original game trying to find one last secret, but to no avail. Because of that the creators of the remake put in those 79 coins that lead to the secret chamber where that sword is, and they even named the coins after one of the main guys on that hunt to find the last secret in the game. His name is literally in the credits of the game. Shows how much they cared about the game and it’s community. There’s a really great video someone did about it. If you just search for it you’ll easily find it

I vaguely recall a fair number of players complaining that they were not able to obtain that weapon and demanded that Bungie add it into the game for everyone to obtain despite Bungie coming out and saying that they only gave one out to this one specific player because the player was suffering from some form of brain cancer and the player used Destiny as a coping tool to help them deal with their health situation.

The Pendulum of Doom was so desired because it was one of three weapons in the game with a 4.00 second attack speed. Most "slow" weapons topped out at 3.80. A slower attack speed was desirable for some classes whose skills scaled with weapon damage, so regardless of how fast or slow the weapon's regular swings were, hitting an instant skill that derived its damage from a slow but hard-hitting weapon was very potent. It also was equippable at level 39, the highest level for the 30-39 PvP bracket, so it was about the best weapon for Shamans and Paladins who wanted to play in that specific level range.

I actually got the Seitengrat bow in FF12. It was a pain, but the rng manipulation actually works. Getting the chest to spawn was the hardest part. Once I knew it was there, I had to watch an NPC child run back and forth a specific number of times on the deck, and then open the chest and I got it. The bow itself is also invisible. The sword for collecting the coins was worth it though. Considering SotC is one of my favorite games, I was glad they did something with the door that everyone was hoping did something in the original.
The climb for the garden only needs about 3 playthroughs as long as you try to collect lizard tails here and there. You also get stamina for killing colossi. I was around the 8th or 9th colossi on my third playthrough to get max stamina. You can get to the garden before max but you have to be perfect.

Hey man I have to correct you here. The Death's Web is one of the rarest item in Diablo 2 but the drop chance is nowhere near as bad as you showed here because you are not using the drop calculator correctly. What is shown here is the drop rate of the item on play 1, from a normal mobs, with 0 magic find.
However, when D2 players really want to farm a death's web, we will be target farming it by killing a superunique monster called "Pindleskin" with around 600 magic find, and the odds of dropping a death's web, according to the drop calculator you used, is 1 in 56310. The barbarian skill "find item" will give you a 75% chance for a second set of drops from the monster which means you will probably find a Death's web every 30000 pindle runs and one pindle run takes about 20 seconds. It's still one hell of a grind but not impossible for us no-life D2 players.

You would not understand the gravity of the meaning behind the sword in Shadow of the Colossus. Its a culmination of players desire to find more for years in the original game, writing entire book sized theories and guides. The point of the sword isn't the sword. It's the quest to find them. The coins are also placed in a way they reference the numerous theories on possible positions of never implemented colossi and similar.
Its not the sword, its the search. It's about seeing those hidden doors open and walking down the stairs and seeing the sword and witnessing the culmination of the stories finally being given light and merit by the devs.

In Witcher 3, there’s a silver sword called Tor Zireael. It’s the silver “sister” to the steel sword called Tor Lara, but is far more elusive. I’m not referring to the Zireael sword that you give to Ciri, but a relic lootable sword. It’s rare to the point that some consider the sword a myth, there’s very few images online of the sword, and there’s no reliable guide to finding it. Most of the more rare relic swords are tied to one or two locations, and no one seems to reliably know where Tor Zireael is. And it’s one of the best silver swords in the game. While it’s damage is dependent on the same factors as any other relic sword, it has the bonus stats of 25% Igni intensity, 15% Quen intensity, 15% chance to freeze, and 3-5% chance of instakill.

I think the most rarest item/s I own in any game are the original 343 Industries skins for both the Assault Rifle and Magnum in Halo 5: Guardians. This were weapons skins only intended for 343 employees but when they were first implemented into the game, for a short period, players had a chance of obtaining this skins randomly through Gold REQ Packs. Once 343 released these skins were accidently added into the live REQ pool, they quickly removed them from the pool but did allow the players who managed to get their hands on them to keep the skins. I know some players were lucky enough to get the one of the skins and in some cases, both of them, like myself. Though in the time I had played Halo 5, I had only really ran into a handful of players that had at least one of the skins. I am not sure what the total count is for players who managed to get the skins is today but I recall that it was still a rather low amount of players making them still pretty rare seeing as players weren't suppose to get them in the first place.

Because some of these rare drop rates, hidden weapons and bosses were so low, so hidden or so hard, we literally would sweat and save just so we could type in a code and bypass the headache.

Additionally, every weapon drops with random additive bonuses in 3 of 5 possible categories that correspond to the 4 different enemy types/species in the game. The 5th modifier is the most desired and the least likely to populate on any drop. This modifier adds 'Hit' which effectively stacks as accuracy on top of the weapon's base accuracy + your character's base accuracy. Possible additive bonus range is 0-100 in increments of 5, and all but the 5th additive can potentially be boosted up to 100 unless it drops with 90 Hit and is 'tekked' to +100 Hit.

It was patched out of the game when Rise of the Zilart was released since the plan was to add endgame weapons known as relic weapons of which Excalibur became one of them. The interview stated had the item ever been fished up, they would not have made a relic weapon named Excalibur and it would have been called something else. This confirmed it was never attained. The cut scenes are still normal speed but all other game play is 3x speed! The other option is like a 'godmode" button where u take no damage, use no mana, theres no cool downs on summons and ur limit is always up! The original version of FF12 had a weapon that was even harder to get than the ones mentioned on this list. It was easier to get in The Zodiac Age remake, but in the original version you had to NOT open a series of chests for a chance for it to appear in a specific chest in Nabudis. There's absolutely nothing that tells you not to open these easy to find, random chests in various locations. Even if you do avoid opening those chests, you CAN'T be wearing the Diamond Armlet, which is counterintuitive because the purpose of the accessory is to increase your chances of getting rare treasure. FF games are infamous for stuff like this. Let's not even discuss the Adamant Armor from FF4.

You should have mentioned the godweapons from Ragnarok Online. You need a strong Guild to conquer castles in the Guild vs Guild fights, then upgrade and defend these castles for probably months, just to have a chance to drop one of the many godpieces needed to craft these weapons. Not to mention, if your castle gets taken by another guild, even if you immediatly retake it, the castle will drop many upgrade lvls so you will have wasted weeks/months. And also you will become a main target if you actually have an upgraded castle. And every castle drops a specific crafting material, so you have to conquer, upgrade and defend more than just one castle. You can trade these crafting materials but the prices for them are enormous, even top guilds have to think about if they are willing to pay for them. Well thats how it was back in the day. Dont know how it is these days.
Also, most droprates for weapons and cards are in the 0,1 - 0,01 % area. The boss cards are especially notable, they also have a 0,01% droprate but these bosses have long spawntimers, many hours, and you have to compete with rival players for these bosses. So these bosscards are extremely rare, even if a server is years old there will be only a few out there.

It took entire alliances of multiple guilds to defend those castles, and crafting any of them would be broadcast server-wide.
Heck, even if you had the materials, you had to wait for the whole server to progress a server-wide quest chain to reach a certain phase (similar to the gates of aq in wow) before the game would let you craft exactly one of them. After that, the quest chain would reset all the way back to square one.
There were also slotted sunglasses, which were extremely rare on the european server.
These were literally unobtainable and the developer explicitly did not want these to even exist.
They only did because the american publisher hacked them in without permission.
The only way to get one was to have a us player transfer to eu during the one and only server transfer that has ever happened and have them trade it to you.
A single slotted sunny was also given out during an event held by game masters, and even that was probably one of the transfered ones.
