I tend to like 18dB/oct as a trade-off between severity and overlap.

I don't understand how you do it. How your sampled sound is so clear with a strong attack. What kind of processing are you using? I have SPECTOR EURO 5, I upgraded the pickups to neodymium ones, added a darkglass tone capsule, I use a top preamp and interface, I tried all types of strings but the sound is still not similar to EUROBASS 2, it has something in common but there is no punch, weak and not expressive though I use a pick with quite a strong attack. It would be very interesting to see how you do it. And yes this midi bass is gorgeous like an Omnific

I dont think this bass really needs side chaining it kinda robbed the low end to much i dont think you really need side chain bass in metal till you get down to like A tuning and below
