Thanks Man! I am getting ready to buy a tumbler for this purpose. You gave me some good ideas. I have watched several coin tumbling videos, and yours appeals to me. Your coins cleaned up really well. Cheers from Southern NH, USAINC
Has to be the best video I've seen. Thanks so much for sharing. Just ordered my tumbler to clean $140. in quarters, dimes and nickels, all clad. Thanks again and hh.
I just wanted to let you know I love your way of cleaning and I have been using it since I watched your video. Your a hero of mine I just shared a video of cleaning mine and gave you a shout out and credit for teaching me this
Did this a few days ago with very good results!, the silver coins actually came out with a slightly yellowish tint, not a big deal for me. Mine also came from metal detecting so they are wayyyy better than when I found them!. Thanks for the vid!
I can’t believe I did subscribe to your channel with this account I love your videos and I always clean my clad your way after trying different methods. Ok now I am on your channel with my correct account thanks
Just purchase the dual drum and lime-away. Loaded the clad an hour ago so I’m going to wait another 45 mins or so and check them out. I’m new to this and past couple weekends have ended up with about $12 in clad so let’s see how they turn out.....thanks for tips
Just a quick THANK YOU for sharing your technique. I had tried a few different formulas, but yours really is the best (and 2 hours seems to be the sweet spot).
Just came upon your video this morning. Bought a double tumbler from HF and ran a double load of both clad and pennies from last weekend. You were absolutely right. They came out great. Have you played with the ratios for the cleaning slurry? Thanks so much!! Keep on swingin'!
really came out fantastic .. I picked up that tumbler the other day .. now I have the mixture to use thanks to your video and efforts .. would you do pennies with the same mixture ? Jim
Great video! I gave this a try today and it worked quite well. My coins came out much cleaner than when they went in. However, they almost look a little 'too done.' They are clean but dull with no shine, any thoughts? Maybe I added too much of one of the ingredients? Suggestions?
It may be the results of the salt and Vinegar. Those two makes the coins dull, so it may be a little too much of both or one or the other. My guess it's the salt. Thanks so much for watching the video. It means a lot to me.
Cincinnati Clad King okay cool thank you for your response I plan to get a small one. I Heard problems with the belt and other issues but wasn't for sure if people put to much weight in the container.
Dude, my apologies...i bought a chicago tumber, did what you said and wow it cleaned some pretty bad looking quarters to the point where i think i can cash them in!!!! Im wondering if the ones that are still dark will get better with another cycle.
I have the same tumbler. I cannot use both barrels at the same time. The bottom of barrels expand outward and makes a Pinching effect and jams up and stops spinning. So I run one barrel at a time. The pressure inside expands and I agave to check at least every half hour 0r the nut will come loose and the lid expands off from the pressure. Do you have this problem?
CCK, What is the protocol for coins with numistical value? Like silver and gold coins? Would the procedure be changed in order to not damage the surface? Thanks
Mine did not turn out Shiny I did everything the same Exact way and maid them worse I don’t know why I even have the same rock tumbler I put them in for a hour then checked them they where better looking at the 1 hour then put them in for another 50min they got worse
I agree this video is only for coins you would take to the store and spend. I would never use this method to clean coins that are worth more than their face value.
Ok video but you only tumbled $4.00 in coins in 2hrs. Try $10 in coins in each drum $20 total and use vinager and salt for 1 hr and you will get good results they will go through your local bank coin machine and your all set!
How long were those coins in the ground, my guess, not long. Come on man, dimes and nickels look rusted some times! Even quarters! Those look like coins that were simply thown in the mud. I would have loved to see a quick sink cleaning first... my guess is they would look the sake. Just saying.
Really Man, how do I know how long they were in the ground. I guess you saying this was fixed? Do it for yourself and you will see this was real. plus, read some of the other comments where others performed the same process.
WRONG ! Never strain this stuff through and kitchen strainer designed for pasta . Gravel WILL drop through and eventually clog your drain . Use a classifier designed for prospecting and set it on top of a 5 gallon bucket and strain it that way . Then dumb that leftover water and crap outside
Robert, Robert, Robert ~ you really come on someone else channel with your bull? I think most strains have a straining cover that stops crap from going down it. As far as the water, give me a break. Too bad my channel doesn't have a bull cover. Also, I think you meant Dump not dumb that leftover water...

Cool results Cin will try your way for sure, thanks for the input..
CCK, I just started cleaning my clad coins using your method. I started with quarters and the results are AWESOME! Thanks so much for posting WOW!

Thanks so much, you are too kind. Can't wait for warm weather for more metal detecting. I will watch yours now.
Cincinnati Clad King I am with you it’s only 17 degrees here around buffalo , ny
Good video and right to the point. Thank you!

Very nice good job Forrest

Great video!!
Thanks!
Nice job!
Wow. Im trying this method now
Got a tumbler for christmas, tried another method and my coins are frosted and dark. Going to use your method on the next batch.
I get the same results in my home made tumbler without the chemicals using stainless steel pins as an abrasive in half the time.
Where do you get SS PINS???
Huh? Actual pins?
Doesn't the H2O neutralize the vinegar?
Excellent!!
Many thanks!
awesome, worked great...
Thanks!
Great video. I am going to try it will the Lime-A-Way. I have the same tumbler and one of the tumbler pops open no mater what I tried to do.
Did it work?
@@soupc111 Yes it did. Worked very well.
Thank you for the info. I have a rock tumbler on order. I have over 850 coins to clean. What do you do with the eating away zinc pennies you get ?
Trash them.
Where did you buy the rocks?? Very helpful video thanks, say hi from Palm Springs CA
Walmart @ aquarium supplies.
when I was a kid I used to tumble rocks as a hobby it's normal to let one of those Rock tumblers go for weeks at a time
really came out fantastic .. I picked up that tumbler the other day .. now I have the mixture to use thanks to your video and efforts .. would you do pennies with the same mixture ? Jim
Yes, but only for an half an hour.
Thanks

Thank you for the reply
overall the tumbler is worth while and does it last. Looking for a tumbler to clean brass and etc.
Oh yes, it's worth the money. They last a very long time. You can't go wrong with one.
Cincinnati Clad King okay cool thank you for your response I plan to get a small one. I Heard problems with the belt and other issues but wasn't for sure if people put to much weight in the container.
What do the coins looks like if you mix the clad with the copper?
They all will turn brown
Dude, my apologies...i bought a chicago tumber, did what you said and wow it cleaned some pretty bad looking quarters to the point where i think i can cash them in!!!! Im wondering if the ones that are still dark will get better with another cycle.
Try it.

you putting in too much soap or too much of something. Cut back and try again.
Looking to get the same set up. How much change can you load up in a cylinder?
100 or more coins.
@@soupc111 thanks
um
ok those results are WAAAAY better than mine with just water and a drop of soap with gravel. I need to try it your way.
I’m genuinely curious, don’t the pebbles pose a risk for scuffing the coins?
No they don’t, of course we talking about clad coins. You wouldn’t put silver coins in a tumbler.
I can vouch for this method as well. Other methods have yielded inferior results. Thanks!
wow its like magic
Thanks for watching.
CCK, What is the protocol for coins with numistical value? Like silver and gold coins? Would the procedure be changed in order to not damage the surface? Thanks
Never, but never put any value coin in a tumble i.e. silver or gold.
Thanks@@soupc111
awesome
very nice
Excellent results! Do you have any plans for all that clad?
Not yet, just collecting for now.
What do you use for pennies??
Did you watch the video all the way? Use the same thing but only need to tumble for 1/2 hour. Don't mix pennies with any other coins.
@@soupc111 I need to watch it again, lol, we were on the road and my husband was talking over you......Thanks😁
@@vickitaylor9750 No problem, I just show text on the screen near the end about the pennies.
Just use stainless steel shot with a tea spoon of dawn. Tumble 45 min then your done..brand new coin.
Does this damage the coins
We are talking about clad coins that you are going to spend. But to answer your question no.

I want to clean my finds dating back to Roman times up to 1900s
Mine did not turn out Shiny I did everything the same Exact way and maid them worse I don’t know why I even have the same rock tumbler I put them in for a hour then checked them they where better looking at the 1 hour then put them in for another 50min they got worse
Double check and make sure you don't a penny mixed up with the other coins.
So do you have a method for cleaning pennies, or just not bother with them? Enjoy all your videos!
Yes the same way, but you only need about 15-25 mins to clean them. Make sure only pennies together.
@@soupc111 Thanks for the information. Happy Beeping
i dont think there is a finer axe out there
I wouldn't want to detect modern coins were I live as we had Roman's saxons and not so far Vikings.
