The album that based on popularity or look usually does not age well & will be forgotten after the trend dies. Nevermind by Nirvana is both popularity & acclaim. Mr Bad Guy...one of the most perfect break out solo records. Freddie knew he had to try something different at that time. It did not break up Queen but the other guys understood. Quality .....

No other singer was as versatile as Freddie. Freddie had so many different personalities, and his voice had so much depth. His voice was a reflection of his soul, and it could touch you so deeply. No-one (a genius like Michael Jackson is no exception) can come close to him. Someone wrote that Freddie even could make a telephone book sound beautifully. Well, it sounds funny, but also very 'to the point'. Freddie is a self-educated giant whose place can never be occupied by someone else.

@@isabelfreitas895 Me personally I don't quite agree, I absolutely love Freddie Mercury but there are better acts out there. OP mentionned Michael Jackson, which in my opinion is one of those better acts. He has songs in almost every genre, he has so many different singing styles, from soft gentle and melodic to strong agressive and raspy. His vocal range was absolutely amazing. Even for this song that Mercury wrote, I find the MJ interpretation to be better even when he did not even try hard because he barely knew the song when recording it.

Both singers had recorded each on their side vocals for the song but had never got the opportunity to finalize the project together. Quenn finally had released the song as a solo. Now both versions have been reworked by Queen and W.Orbit and gave birth to a finished duet.
Sorry, the recording session ended when Michael insisted on bringing a Llama into the studio with him. Freddie thought he was a freaking IDIOT (and was right) and walked out. they might have sounded good together but Freddie was certainly FAR more talented than Michael ever thought about being and had FAR more sense.

I feel sorry for you if you think that someone who died prematurely, crucified by the ineptitude and the greediness of some evil people, lived long enough. According to me, his life was much too short. Meanwhile, they both had remarkable voices and careers. One made FOR him, even FORCED upon him, the other, self made and self determined. But, Freddie also knew that music was, like everything else, his business, not his religion. I acknowledge Michael's talent, even his voice but Freddie's FAR surpassed Michael's. and, while Freddie had his faults, he was hardly so coco puffs as Michael became. but, I just never thought their voices meshed well. The timber didn't match well.
