While working on our dancing Freddy from FNAF, we went deep down into the rabbit hole of indie horror games and discovered… Choo Choo Charles. He’s loosely based on a cursed Thomas the Tank Engine and his vacant expression still haunts our dreams. We had to bring him to life.
The base for our new toy makeover is a RC spider toy. We built Choo Choo Charles’ body with balsa wood, some recycled trash containers, and a handful of 3D printed parts. His face was sculpted with Apoxy sculpt and Sculpey and his legs were made with Foam Clay.
We hoped you enjoy watching our DIY Choo Choo Charles animatronic project. He’s definitely giving us evil Thomas the Tank Engine vibes. We love to make spooky DIY and Halloween projects all year long. If you want to see more, we have a bunch of animatronic makeovers, horror toy makeovers and DIY Halloween props and decor on our channel. Until next time, stay wicked!

We tried to make it as accurate to the game as we possibly could. How'd we do?
Can’t wait for the creator of Choo Choo Charles to see this masterpiece
I’m not a indie horror buff, but this video was pretty good! I hope that you could make something inspired by Coraline in the future!
Imagine they make a life size Version☠️💀
Hey, what if you would build things from Addams Family. I know you did Wednesday and Thing, but you did them because of wednesday and not the addams family moovies or series. (Example: the dangerous plant, that tends to eat people or at least meat; the painting of fester addams in the first moovie, with the candle in his hands)
I actually love these smaller but more intricate builds - he turned out great!
I think the legs looked off in motion as a tradeoff for them being posed when the model isn't moving. So it's a better statue, it just walks a little weird. Looks great :)
THIS LOOKED AWESOMEEE!!!! Yall found the perfect toy for Charles! The smoke and the legs were PERFECT! The faux welding was tricky, but maybe some puffy fabric paint could have worked as well. Overall, fantastic work as always ❤
At first I was considering just ghosting through the channel, only watching one video or so, but I'm about five videos in and I can't help but stay. You guys do amazing work and are really inspiring. I've never been the sculpting kind of artist but this all makes me consider.
Don't get Cho Choo Charles to the child
It’s so cool to see your process when you’re making wicked things. There are so many creative ways to use stuff you won’t normally think about!
I wish companies still made things of this quality & accuracy.
I've been subscribed to you guys since basically the beginning and its so cool to see how much your craft has improved. Seriously y'all are such an inspiration to me of what I want my relationship with my husband to be... halloween, family and crafting!
If you want the ultrasonic fog generator to last for more than a few runs, use distilled water. Minerals in tap or drinking water foul the tiny internal holes quickly and permanently.
You guys just keep getting more interesting and better than the last, but sometimes on a smaller scale and that's fine.
Absolutely incredible! I've been working on fixing an old Simon Sez ventriloquist doll recently and decided he needs a button controlled motor to turn his head to scare guests. Any info on beginners guides to basic animatronics/motors?
Being a massive train nerd, you really hit me personally when you called the boiler "the tube."
What a great build! Nice work guys!
This was amazing! Great job guys! Btw for the “welds” you could have totally used a 3d pen. It’s very easy to make realistic looking welds with one!
Hello from the Distortions crew Wicked Makers! Great idea for a video and project!
