The movie Tron was about to be released at the time and so they had the whole park decked out in Tron-esque style. All lights in the park went off at sundown around 7pm and the lasers went on... It was pretty awesome. There was a particular are that was especially decked out with futuristic stuff and they had a live DJ and sold alcohol and that's where this show took place. Pretty epic.
Dude... outside my apartment at 8 in the morning, there was some sort of small marathon event & only about 10 women total on the sides screaming/cheering like this for over 2 hours. By the end of it they sounded like they were dying... but the WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHH WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHH WOOOOOOOOOOOOH drives me up the walls.
Nice show! At first I was 'meh, reflecting a laser from below his feet with mirrors on his hands, big fuckin deal'....until he started that lightsaber trick spinning the beams from his hands. I'd like to know how they pulled that one off, no way were laser diodes of that intensity strapped to his arms, they would have shown. The rest of it was just well timed choreography, but that one bit (I wish he had done more of it) was amazing.
+Jurrasic Park I know! it's really amazing! but if you like frame by frame, you can see that the laser's base is his hand and because the only other source of light was the base of his platform, I think there is no other way than the laser being coming from his hand, however, the whole device could be in his arm and then, a simple mirror, but it is truly amazing from the engineers to pull this off :p
I dont think most people understand what an amazing part that was. I was thinking the same thing, really impressed with the mirror-glove reflecting work Then at 1:40 ... WTF? How is the laser being SOURCED from the gloves? Maybe its not as impressive as we think and each hand just has 2 cat toys superglued together. Sometimes magic is that simple. Glad to see someone else is as geeky about that stuff as me.

Anyone can do this shit..." while my friend, the one who showed it, was like "I think its pretty impressive... *supersadpandaface*" and we mocked him and was like "Well it is NOT!" and then at 1:42 we lost our shit and took back what we said. This is awesome.
As a laser show, it's pretty neat. The Tron connection is basically non-existent, though, except the one mention of users and programs in the lead-in and the flashing Tron name at the end. If they're going to use the Tron name, it ought to be more connected to Tron.
