Sick of this ‘oh but he’s a good lad’ rhetoric it’s utter garbage. Top teams don’t keep players around just because they’re local lads regardless of quality. Dummet has to go. Sean Longstaff was utterly shambolic tonight and has been most of the season. Doesn’t tackle, doesn’t get near anyone, can’t pass, can’t score goals. It’s a miracle he’s played this many premier league games. He’s a championship player at best. Paul Dummet wouldn’t look out of place in league 1. Dan Burn on the other hand looked 100x better at CB. Sadly you cannot consistently win games with the players available to us. We can’t blame the manager tonight. The actual genuine top class players in the team must be sick to death of being let down by the dross week in week out. Write the season off and factory reset next season.

I know it’s still early on in the project and the club over achieved last season however at present too many players from the old guard have this ‘competition winner’ mentality, for example going away to a terrible Chelsea side and folding just because they’re Chelsea. The elite mentality is missing. Certain players have proven they cannot play European football as well as getting results in the league. That said there are some fantastic players in that squad who are being let down by a lack of quality from their team mates (not a lack of effort).
Alex Murphy is on the bench. Why is Howe refusing to use him? He can play LB, he’s been brilliant when called upon. It’s pathetic!! I’m so fed up of this manager.
Similarly fed up with BS comments about our manager. Brining on a senior pro. was really a sensible thing as opposed to exposing a young lad. Didn’t work out like that but it’s ’Monday morning midfielders’ like yourself who think hindsight is a legitimate criticism mode.
Our young lads have been the absolute stars of this team this year and are ONLY playing because of injuries. What's the point in even having them on the bench? If you are good enough you are OLD enough!

I would have much preferred if we have played our youngins and gotten them much needed development time than the dross we put up this season.

Eddie smiling away after a draw is properly irking, I just don't think he has the mentality to take us to the very top. I think Dubravka being a sweper keeper makes the back 4 nervous, kudos to big Burn he played well though.
Maldini would advise the departure of Edward Howe and his mates would he not? Can’t see them working well together long term.
Dummet was supposed - supposed - to be a senior pro who should have come on and not panicked and not had a meltdown down. Eddie is right not to single him out but he must be privately raging. Dummet had one job and while I except what you say about his lack of time etc he in no way should have done what he did. It is inexcusable.
It is not only Dummett's fault. The team knows there is no one of high quality on the bench but they still had enough fire power to overwhelm Everton in the first half and win the game then and there. Instead they kept fluffing their lines and this is the result.

I’d be shocked if we got European football of any kind this season. The injury list has been absolutely insane. I think the injury list and the length of the injury’s being the most in the league by a country mile is because the management/coaching staff & medical team collectively have done something wrong which has to be investigated
loosing patience with eddie!! has been playing players who are absolutely shattered n then thwy get injured!! playing burn at lb even though was getting roasted each week even though had hall. plays players when injured n they then get crocked for months.

I would be loosing patience with Eddy if we had had a strong 25 man squad but we were lucky to have a decent 15 pre Europe so the reality is what we see before us.
Dummet was kept around as he was needed for a homegrown quota for champions league. I don't think there was any sentiment around giving him a new deal
Great report guys and I couldn’t have summed it up any better, you highlighted all my frustrations not only with result but what it means for the immediate future and also our transfer strategy. Just a couple of points the injury situation has been going on all season so why are our reserves/U21’s not ready to make step up and has no one from first team management being working with them to prepare them? We also as you quite rightly say got to get rid of players off books whom are never going to play even if it means cutting our losses and giving them away. Every game feels like a must win, we could’ve been going to Fulham knowing a draw would do but not now! Anyway keep up the good work onwards and hopefully upwards HWTL 👍
Surely you can let Dummett go and sign somebody else.
Lots of options:
-Could be on loan with minimal fee like Aston Villa did with Lenglet to replace Mings.
-Could go get somebody on a free who maybe wants to leave his club like somebody from championship team that isn’t promoted or a team that’s gone down.
-You could look at a young CB with potential to build for future maybe not at level but has potential to be.
-Then you could even just go get another CB schar isn’t getting younger going to need one for future anyway.
Lots of options resigning Dummett shouldn’t be one of them.
We're going to have to be very shrewd in the transfer market. Lloyd Kelly on a free would be a no brainer, Tosin Adarabioyo would also be worth a look on a free transfer? 🤷♂️ Alex Meret at Napoli is coming into his last year and might be available for a decent price and we desperately need Joelinton to sign on the dotted line, replacing him would be a big problem. Toney would be a good shout, statement signing, him and Isak would be lethal.
Liam, I don't think that Evertons one dimensional football caused us any problems, they never looked like scoring until Dummet gave them the pen. We should have got the 2nd goal to kill the game off.
We obviously missed Gordon tonight, hopefully he's back for Saturday and if we can win at Fulham then 7 points from 9 ain't a total disaster as the teams around us are stuttering too

Dummett and Ritchie wouldn’t get in the Luton team , they have to go. Great 70m, lots of chances to win at a canter but when they ran out of steam there was nothing on the bench. Still a good point but walking out of the ground last night, it felt like a loss. Another great video guts

We have Longstaff not doing a job every single game for months and stealing a living. Eddie Howe being surprised by injuries is laughable. That is the one consistent feature of his managerial career. Bournemouth were blighted by injuries. How many people would have taken our young players getting minutes even if we lost all the matches we dropped points in this season? We have Alex Murphy, Parkinson, Hall and Tino riding the bench and we have to rely on Dummett, Longstaff, Ritchie in desperate situations. Big Dan Burn looks decent as CB, I am shocked haha. The manager now has to stick it out with him due to long term injuries. Next season we need 2 new CBs, a starting LB, someone to replace Longstaff for good, Minteh on the right wing, and 2 new Strikers assuming Wilson will go. There is no way we can afford all this. More of the same dross next season then.
people seem to overlook that eddie has been consistent in two things in his career, his teams have loads of injuries and concede loads of goals
Would Dummett get into any other premier league team the answer is no so if the club want to progress he has to go it would be a shock if he got another contract you can’t just give a contract because he is good behind the scenes
I would get rid of Dummett and as backup CB I would buy Ryan Porteous from Watford, I have watched since he was a kid and is only 23 and now a full international. Better than Dummett when he was in his prime and wouldn’t cost a lot so could also buy a top CB
What have you guys heard about the Maldini rumors, was it an April fool? If there is some traction in it hopefully he will be able to sort the centre back issue out.
Deffo think we need an extra striker, no way would I consider selling Isak but we need back up as he does get injured and I can't see Wilson being here next season

Unfortunately will have to be a summer of pragmatism and building the squad from the bottom up. Goalie isn’t a high enough priority to drop £40m + on. Need a proper starting CB and probably Lloyd Kelly or Tosin Adabariyo on a free as a rotational option. Will have to cheap out elsewhere we need a CDM, RW and Striker but probably can only afford one elite player and 2 more underwhelming options for those positions.
We need better footballers so we can have more control and take the sting out of games . Limited players hide and just look for one twos meaning the game is always back and forth. Cb on loan any in the Saudi league can’t believe we haven’t used it

Right wing surely has to be a priority. This will be our 6th transfer window under this ownership and we will still have Almiron as a RW. It’s infuriating. Paying fans are pulling their hair out watching Almiron, Murphy etc. it’s shambolic!! Save money and make Alex Murphy our CB, he’s BRILLIANT! Howe would rather waste money on positions we already have players! I can’t bare Eddie any longer
