- This is video 2 in my Big Boy series as I cover all the items in the super set (minus the box car), and will give away one of the items from the super set after the final video
This was my first attempt at using a green screen for this channel. I learned that glossy black boxes reflect a great deal of light, causing spillage of the b-roll footage onto the boxes. Unfortunately, some of the lighting intended for green screen use was delayed until after this video was completed.
Those lights have since arrived and should allow for greater separation away from the green screen to avoid the light spillage. The subsequent videos should look a lot cleaner going forward.

Lionel O gauge sure has come a long way from the 1950's pieces. Nice!
They look nicer. But they definitely don't build in the same durability as the more seasoned stuff.
My volume control button was loose as well. I reached in with needle nose pliers and turned a nut and it improved. I would like to see a video of how you repaired yours.
I will likely make a video of the repair. Most of these I catch before the video, and then shoot that part. This was a surprise that we all found out at the same time.
For what is charged for these models you would think there would be better quality control. I bought the super set because these cars were part of the set.
@@gregleuze6657 Sooo, spoiler alert. . . That is what this series of videos is about. I basically built the super set, with just a different sounds boxcar, and saved $1000. . Crazy!!!
These products are going into the box in China and not coming out until they’re in our hands. If dealers were allowed to do warranty repairs more of us would be more inclined to have them repaired. With having to risk damage during shipping and waiting for a return many of us risk our warranties to make the repairs ourselves. We really need to buck up and hold Lionel accountable or this QC will continue. It sucks they’re profiting from the product and by selling us the parts to repair them right out of the box. Really appreciate the in depth and honest videos your doing. Keep up the great work.

Very n;ice. Those cars are quite well detailed. Too bad that they come with some broken or detached parts. The crew talk is a bit abysmal, though. That supervisor would probably find himself inside the reefer, along with the produce.😉 Either way, they are nice cars and look quite nice behind the Big Boy. An excellent video.

I really enjoy how real some of the whistles sound.
I am disappointed in it. My JLC Legacy Big Boy from 2006 has a much better whistle with more resonance. They talk about it on the OGR forum that the whistle areas lacks a baffle to direct the sound out of the locomotive and the tender.@@BigBoyTrains-
