I LOVED growing up On Long Island...never thought I would leave...so sad when I did ...I couldn't imagine paying as much as it costs to live up there now.

Yes, it's great place to grow up and live. Price of living is definitely higher than what it used to be, but so is everywhere else... Hopefully, you're able to find time to still visit Long Island!

Why? Long Island is garbage. I grew up in Queens and moved to Long Island and went back after 2 months. Long Island is Beyond Boring

I was born and raised in Syosset. I moved off island 24 years ago and never looked back.
Although I do miss the beach, the blatant political corruption and criminally high property taxes leave only two demographics that live there; ultra wealthy and poverty.
The middle class that built Long Island (Levittown being the perfect example) are long gone.
