      I think what barca needs is Wayne Rooney as Manager. He would have the chance to redeem his career with his fiery aggression, and Barca can benefit from that vital experience. They also need a reinforcement like Harry Maguire. Man Utd has been his problem, before that he was good. He can redeem himself at Barca imo. Speaking of the finishing department, someone who boasts strength and has several goals under his belt, like Romelu Lukaku should be a big priority signing for Barca. Loris Karius has proven to be a good backup goalie despite some lapses, so he could be an option to support Ter Stegen and Pena. Lingard is offering himself to Barca and has been hard at work, so for midfield, Barca could go for that option too. Could be a gamble that pays off big time. Win-win for both

As we got some better players and the expectations rose, it came clear that he couldn't take us any further. One positive thing is that he gives the youngsters chance but on the other hand what they gonna learn from him if he can't get the best out of the veterans in this team. Next summer will be crucial for us. If we don't make the right decisions with who the next coach will be and which players he wants to stay, this will be the end of it. I still can't believe we mortgaged the club for one La Liga title and one super cup and we are in the same position from 3 years ago when Messi left in tears because we couldn't pay his wages. @hovgh1347 I agree 100%. Lewandowski was never going to fit the style we tray to play even in his prime. And in general, if you try to press high, it all starts from the front line and how you are going to do it with 35 year old striker. I watched Bayern Leverkusen the other day, man. They are playing exactly the football we want to play. They run a lot, pres high, quick passes all this with average players, but they all fit the profile you need to do that. Our problem is we were bringing whoever was available with a big name tag, not what we actually needed. As for Kounde, if it was up to me, I would sell him next summer and bring povot with the money. The same goes for Raphinha. All in all, it was very poor sporting planning. Xavi was the ideal caoch if we were trying to build a team with youngsters. For this team, you need a coach who can find balance with veterans and youngsters. A lot of this is Laporta's fault too.

I feel like something in Xavi changed he tried a different style long balls and I dont know how to explain it with Abu we played on the ground short passes and the movement was great.. I noticed lewe is a big baby he always nags and I am sure it gets to some players but Xavi wanted him maybe as you just said for the sake of having a big name but Abu was 100 times better and his energy, he had his game face on this guy doesnt even care if we are losing or winning and since we dont have many options Xavi seems to be putting him cause if he puts someone else then he has to bring lewe from the bench which is not an upgrade to anyone yes I thought they would say Raphina and lewe in jan but seems like it has to wait hopefully in summer these 3 plus cancelo, christinsen I dont mind selling gundegon or de jong to raise some money @@sase290388

    I like that Xavi wanted to bring in Ferran, Gündo, Iñigo. We have built a good squad. I'd just like to see a more old school Barça coach, leaning more toward the total football tiki-taka rather than the positional, pass it in to the back of the net tiki-taka. You can have 60-80% possession while using only 10-30 quick passes in build-up and attack.
    And I would personally like to see the false 9 make a comeback, we have Félix for it, and wingers who are great at finding spaces. It's perfect.

    • @messicomps344
      @messicomps344 Před 4 měsíci +4

      Bro what on earth do you think Total football is? Positional play is exactly what Johan Cruyff and Pep Guardiola played. Total football is positional play. Those coaches in their tenures at Barça had, relative to what we have now, much better teams.

    • @MRKS7899
      @MRKS7899 Před 4 měsíci +2

      Yall need to stop with this tiki-taka nonsense. tiki-taka is dead. There will never be another team good enough to play that way. We need to move on. evolve. adapt. You only need to look at Pep. He's assembled the best team in the world in recent years. Do they play tiki-taka?

    • @joakim3213
      @joakim3213 Před 4 měsíci

      @messicomps344 Total football is positional play, but it is a fast variant of it and a lot more fluid. Pep and especially Xavi are a lot more strict in players having assigned roles. While Cruyff was more fluid, always staying in shape but players could switch roles with each other. Cruyff is also more direct, while Pep and Xavi like to pass it into the back of the net. While they are heavily influenced by Cruyff, obviously, but Pep took possession and tiki-taka to another level. That difference is thr difference between total football and Spanish tiki-taka.
      If you want a more extreme difference to make it easier in comparison, I'd suggest checking out Rijkaards old games and compare them to Pep. It was pre-Pep spanish tiki-taka. So Rijkaard was still using the traditional total football. After him, Pep came in and revolutionised the game.

    • @joakim3213
      @joakim3213 Před 4 měsíci

      We don't need to stop having our opinions, neither should you. I do think you are taking part of a massive misconception in football. Which is that old tactics and styles die out. They don't.
      The best coaches today are using tactics from the 1920s and up. Look at Pep as an example. Using 3-2-2-3.
      I think you should watch some of Cruyff and Rijkaards games. They are the perfect example of "modern" football. Very direct, fast tiki-taka, great positionally, and always in the ball because they win it back fast. Other coaches like Klopp and Flick have been successful this way, even Ten-Hag at Ajax.

    • @MRKS7899
      @MRKS7899 Před 4 měsíci

      @@joakim3213 you're living in the past bro. None of those examples have anything to do with what I said. There's a difference between position-heavy one touch passing and full on tiki-taka. tiki-taka in the way that we know it, just doesn't exist anymore. Just cuz teams play with high speed, high intensity, and high pressing, doesn't mean they're playing tiki-taka

    Yes its Xavi's fault we missed 2 clear chances yesterday (no hate to Yamal). Yes its Xavi's fault that our defence goes to sleep in the first minute of the games everytime. Yes it's Xavi's fault that Pena does not come out for crosses which creates the first goal. Yes it's Xavi's fault that Frenkie lets his man drift away from him and gives him a free header.
    Yes it's Xavi's fault that he has to field two 16 year old in our defensive line, it's Xavi's fault that CDR does not allow more than 3 B team players at any time.
    Which top team right now is fielding a bunch of teenagers to play for them? Compare how much every top club favourite for the UCL have spent this season. How much did we spend? 3 MILLION.
    What was the only demand Xavi had once Busi left ? To get him a proper world class CDM. Did we give him that ? NO. Even Man City struggle to win without Rodri.
    Who were the players Xavi was desperate to keep this season? Busi, Alba and Dembele. Was it his fault that they decided to leave? And can't we now realise why Xavi wanted to keep them.
    Then come the injuries. How many players have we got injured? MATS, Martinez, Cancelo, Christensen, Gavi, Raphina, Alonso. No team plays the same with this many injuries.
    Name one manager who comes in right now and doesn't make the demands that Xavi is making - a proper CDM, maybe an extra midfielder, fullbacks, etc. No manager will be working their ass off under this much financial restriction.
    Learn to value what you have got. And oh, yes Xavi should be coming out and openly say to the media that we can't compete for the league and the UCL ( because he must be a realist).

Also a better flow in the way players showed up in open space. Fort and Kurbasi’s passing allowed us to move up the field more easily which allows to generate an attack starting further into the opposing teams half. My real issue now is the right winger but most importantly… our striker. I was never hot on Roque but I hope to God he proves us wrong.

    While I agree that Barca should be fighting for all trophies possible out there, I also acknowledge that this team is still under a much heavier reconstruction process than previously thought.
    When we think back to the glory days of the first team, we need to realize that the team was comprised of quite a few really big talents coming out of La Masia albeit with some very dominant players from outside as well. And seeing how these young players have performed in last night's game, I do have higher hopes for the future. I always thought Barca needs to look for talent within more than outside of the club. The current management team is starting to change this approach, and it's going to take time to pay off. I'm just hopeful that they will stick with that mentality and won't buckle to outside pressure to try and sign players from outside again to try and bring the glory of the past back.

    I completely agree with everything Xavi said. We seem to be forgetting just how many things are going wrong for us as a club. There are things that are just completely out of Xavi's control. Almost every other game, we suffer from injuries, and for a very long time, we have not been able to play with a consistent 11. While we want to see wins and better performances, I think we need to continue to look ahead, see the positives for what they are, and focus on improving (which is what Xavi is doing).
    Look at Real Madrid for instance... We can almost always predict their line up because they aren't dealing with the amount of injuries as us. They get to play their best 11 day in and out. This creates chemistry between their team, making it that much easier to play good football. Again, something we have not been able to do for a very long time.

Did you miss the 2nd half when he blew 2 gimme goals that could have won the match for Barca?? If that had been Lewy, Torres, or Felix, they would have been torn to shreds by you and your friends, along with most people. Just because "he's only 16" doesn't mean he gets a pass. This isn't a Pro-Am match where some random 16 year is plucked from a youth football team to play. He is playing in big time professional football. If he is good enough to start at 16, then he needs to face the same criticism as every other player. Not to mention all the key players we lost since last season. This is pretty much a completely new barcelona team and it will take time for them to get used to playing with each other. Things take time and failure is required for growth. Xavi is doing fine in my opinion with the resources he has at his disposal and the drama surrounding the club. screaming Xavi out after every goal we concede due to individual player mistakes is not fair or correct in my opinion. We had many many chances and this is the same kind of thing Pep Guardiola had to look at when he first joined Barca as the coach … and Cruyuff the same…he wasn’t concerned about the match they just lost. He thought … that’s a great game because he saw specifics that he liked he knew he could build on that and that’s where Xavi is going with his thought process.

    For once I will say we actually played well yesterday. Defensive errors cost us the game but I could clearly see Xavi's influence with the speed of passing being significantly better than what we saw at the start of the season. In fact let's analyse how we conceded.
    Goal 1: Players overcommitted to defending the cross and left an open man, the ball bounces off balde to an open athletic player who shoots and Christensen blocks only for it to go past Gundogan perfectly into Guruzeta's feet
    Goal 2: Kounde leaves too much space for the cross and an open header to Sancet
    Goal 3: Roberto is the press trigger for athletic who win the ball and unfortunately Fort, who was already cramping up lost I. Williams who gets extremely lucky with the rebound off the post.
    We clearly need to improve our defensive approach but our attacking play was for once clearly worked on in the training ground. And considering we threw on Cubarsi, Yamal and Fort who were also capable of following Xavi's plan for 90 minutes deserves praise.
    We did not feel the lack of Cancelo, Balde or Christensen because of the tactics set up by Xavi. If we went down without a fight it's a different conversation but after what I saw yesterday I believe we are going to improve with each game.

    "Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat" - Sun Tzu
    Xavi has tactics but no strategy and that is visible in all aspects of the game, from defence, transitions, set-pieces and attack. Our youngsters have stepped up and shown their potential but honestly, I don't believe that Xavi has the potential to bring out the best of them. Xavi has helped in stabilizing and starting a new era but now his limits as a coach are apparent. Barcelona needs and deserves to have a coaching staff that have some experience.

Some of our best players are not in good form and it hurt us cz we need individuality to make the difference sometimes like Messi used to do. FFP is harming us cz we still can’t afford the pivot that strongly need in this team We have to bare with this young barca team and I undoubtedly believe that Xavi can be the most fitted coach for this “new barca”. Shout out to Laporta, Xavi and the whole staff for doing their best to make Barca Great again🙏🏽 This is our down moment. We will get back on our feet sooner or later for sure💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽Força Barca

    Realistically we are not in a place to replace Xavi now due to financial condition of the club. I mean he earns really little for his job, We can't replace him with a high profile coach with similar amount of payment to be honest. A new high profile manager won't just demand more salary but also demand new signings as well. We are not anywhere near to do that right now. That's why the board is backing Xavi no matter what. I don't know how long it will take to find the Barca back we knew. I don't know either if the old dominating Barca are gone forever. I really hope we turn things around once again.

    This is a fc which is almost financially broke. This is the harsh reality, brother. It means the club can't afford bringing superstars either as players or as coaches. Sadly, sadly, this barca is not a super football team any longer. Criticism of the coaches and players is off course valid, however our expectations shouldn't be unrealistically high. Seeing that 4 youngsters from our historical pride, La masi are able to play so well at this level must be a joy for any traditional Barca enthusiast. It sounds like Xavi knows his time is up, come next season I see his departure based on a mutual agreement between him and the club. it sounds unfortunate and it's not entirely on him but it seems he cannot take this squad to the next level. Last season was a great accomplishment domestically but we all know that is the minimum requirement for Barcelona and that the goal is to compete in europe and Xavi hasn't succeeded in that. Last season was unfortunate in the group stage of the champions league, but we were knocked out of the europa as well. This season they made it over the line in a group that realistically they shouldn't have struggled with at all. Hopefully they can get past napoli who are struggling domestically also, but the quarter finals this season is where it'll end "IF" they get there.

    The only way to improve this team is to bring in a coach who is absolutely ruthless and demands discipline and respect from everyone. Maybe that coach can still be Xavi, I would say the club needs to give him time until the end of his contract which is in 2025 I believe. Not every coach has had it easy.
    However coming back to my point about the mentality of the coach, we need someone who doesn’t say things like “oh good job, im proud of you”. I believe these words absolutely kill the spirit in our players indirectly. Because psychologically you’re making them think they are good enough to be in the squad and when they are in the starting lineup, their performance is atrocious. Look at Lewandowski, Araujo, Kounde, Balde, Christensen, none of these players are even 3% of what they were last season and it clearly shows. We need a coach who demands even more even when the players had a brilliant day at the office. Its time this team learned some discipline and focus. We are clearly lacking

    To be honest, Xavi is mich bigger fan of Barca and lovr Barça than we all do. He sees things much better than we do. Let's face it - Barça are still in financial crisis and with the yongsters that show more and more quality and with the injuries I think Barça really have bright future, just ee need patience. All of us should not be expecting Barça ot be back where we were 5-6 years ago only after winning the last la liga. This team needs to lrarn how to handle wins and loses and to be consistent and then we need to add some more quality and experience in defence and in atack (in the middlr we have amazing people) so I see future bright. And I am sure Xavi will be the first to resign at the moment he sees it won't work with him. He loves the club, his blood is Barça! Visca el Barça and let's be patient. We all know he just got back from several injuries, but I feel like we've been only seeing glimpses of his brilliance lately. Is it the system that's not working for him? Is he being played out of position? For instance, De Jong and Gundo both had twice as many touches as he did against Real Betis, and we have yet to see another Pedri masterclass since his game vs Atletico.

    When Xavi took over I hoped to replace all the medical staff bring new doctors and develop one of the best pressing teams. Now after 2 seasons teams with limited funds are better than us in that aspect. The other thing about Xavi is that he brought all his family instead of a proper coaching team. Smaller teams seem to have better set-piece routines, tactics, and all those small details more developed than Barca. The other and most annoying for me is that we tend to sign players based on hype and not our needs. Raphinha, Torres, Lewandowski, Felix even Kounde while they are playing well in some games all seem to not be the profiles that Xavi wants. I mean he wants a CF that can make runs in behind and can press, He has spent 100+ on Ferran and Raphinha to be his wingers and they are clearly not that type of players. Also, Kounde signed as a CB and he has played most of his games as an RB. What on earth the scouting is doing...

    I'm getting sick of comments like "Xavi out"... We could see these kind of comments for every single manager since Pep. What's annoys me the most - there is not a single comment like "Xavi out, XY manager in"... If Xavi plays Pedri every single game than "we didn't learn anything, we shouldn't push our young players so hard", if Pedri is on the bench there are comments "wtf, why is Pedri on the bench, is Xavi insane"... if Cubrasi plays 2 games in 6 days - why didn't he start vs Athletic (maybe because he just turned 17 and it's not ready)... When Vitor Roque arrived "that's great but we shouldn't forget about Guiu", when Guiu plays instead of Victor Roque "Why is Vitor Roquet at the bench" etc.
    I understand that many Barca's fans are used to watch team of players like Messi, Ronaldinho, Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol... But Barca's team right now isn't on that level and that's not Xavi's fault if you want to blame someone about it, blame Bartomeu he destroyed Barca. Even Pep wouldn't have a chance to win La Liga and UCL in the same season with our current squad and that's fine for me, I won''t talk sh*t about our players or our manager. We should SUPPORT our club in difficult times, it's easy to be a "supporter" when the club is the best in the world.
    Jamie, thank you for all your hard work and for your opinions about our tactics, players, Xavi etc. And I agree with you most of the time... But even when you talk about what should you do if you are in Xavi's shoes, there is one thing that you didn't do - you didn't apply for that job, and even if you did - you wouldn't get it, because you are CZcamsr, not a manager. One more thing, are you 100% sure that with your tactic we would win every single game that we didn't? Or maybe we would lose some that we actually won with Xavi as a manager?
    I understand all the frustration of the fans, but scream on the TV while watching the game, don't go to the internet and talk sh*t about the club you "support", we have madridistas for that.

    2.What do you expect xavi to say? The players gave everything on the pitch, they fought, they were just not good enough, and couldn't cope with athleti's runners.
    3. What do you expect laporta to do at this point? Sack xavi?
    4. If you are sitting as the Barca president what are you going to do at this point, blame the players and sack their coach in January?
    We're all fans of barca, we can't live in fantasy right now, we have to be realistic, even if we can bring in a top coach, where's the money?
    We have to understand that money is 70% of the problem we are facing.
    I'm sure if we had money, busquets and dembele who were key for xavi winning the league last season would have excellent replacements.
    What we need to do is appreciate this players for doing their best, and back them, lamine who missed those two big chances that would have taken us 4-2 up is only 16 guys, think about what that kid would be in a few years time, theres cubarsi, fort and all of this guys did well against betis while still being very young and against guys who are 5+ years ahead of them, I'm also not a xavi fan but i see him like Newcastle united's Eddie howe, he's there to give us some identity in this troubled times with less cash, he will eventually give way for someone who is going to take us to the next level when the time and money is perfect. Lets jus support these guys and show love, we are even struggling for loans and can't even sign low cost young talents that are pushing to come to the club, stop all the fuss men, we are hanging on a rope at this point, and thank God we can say we have a future with these kids.

    Maybe we need to learn to accept defeat. Maybe we need to learn to face the worst. It's already been multiple years since Barca fans were last properly happy with how the club stood. All clubs have their down points. The premier league is not the same league it was many years ago, and it's the same with La Liga. Most teams fall from grace and maybe that's the case with Barca. Maybe when we learn to accept our defeats, we can focus on improving. When we let go of our pride and accept some humility, we can stop our minds from being clouded by stress of expectations, allowing us to focus on what really matters, that this Barcalona, the club we love, is more than a club. It's a family that shares one love, and that's a love for football. We shouldn't share a love for winning or the trophies we gained, we should share a love for the game we love to watch and play. I didn't become a Barca fan because I loved to see them win. I became a Barca fan because my grandpa was a Barca fan, and I saw the love he held for the club and the way they played and I fell in love with that, too. Xavi is right. This is the start of a new Barca. A fresh start. We have no Messi, no Iniesta, Busquests or Xavi(at least not as a player), no Suarez or Neymar or any of these legends. We have what we have and while it isn't perfect, we can develop it. But first, we must learn to be happy with it. Because until we can accept what we are, we will be running in circles looking for something we can not find nor gain. No matter what happens to Barca, even if we get the Chelsea treatment and end up mid-table, I will always love the club because it stands for the game I love.

    I think it’s safe to say our season is over. I mean I don’t see this version of the team winning the champions league, or even making it past Napoli. And yes Xavi is to blame for a lot of what is going wrong but let’s not forget how the finances of the club have hindered it. We haven’t even signed a proper holding midfielder which has clearly been costing us. Add unto that the frequency at which players have been getting injured and you have a lot of inconsistency in the starting line up. But that’s where Xavi is supposed to adapt and he hasn’t shown that he’s capable of that. But tbh I don’t even know if Barcelona would even be able to afford hiring a high level manager. I feel a lot of uncertainty regarding the future of the club and can only hope that once finances are straightened we might see them play well consistently.
