Budvar dark has the advantage of being readily availabe in Home Bargains at £1.79 a bottle. I could only find Krombacher Dark online & including shipping into you're looking at £2.60-£2.90 per bottle, depending on seller.
Absolutely, at £1.79 it's an absolute steal! But then again compared to a lot of our more readily available decent dark beers both are still great value. Cheers!
Spotted these this morning - Never seen them before but picked up a couple of Budvar Dark from my local Lidl for £1.79 per bottle.
I think they're a bargain! I did check mine but sadly no joy. How did you get on with it?
@@TheCrumbyBeard Interesting flavour, Bit like a washed out smooth ale - Kind of a novelty and not something I would substitute a regular lager type taste experience for.

Budvar Dark seems to be a main stay of my local Home bargins, it's a cracking beer, but I'd sooner be drinking the Krombacher!
There's a place for both of them! For me, if it were an on-tap situation, I'd struggle to not go for the Budvar, but when it comes to bottles, I think I'd take both!
If you want even more outstanding Czech beers, than try "Sankt Jaro Schwarzbeer" and "Litovel Dark".... these beers amaze!!!!
I bought Budvar Dark in Home Bargains of all places recently. Not sure if its regularly stocked there though?
I've heard from others that they do regularly get it there, not certain if it applies to all stores but certainly many seem to. Cheers!

It is supreme!
Budvar beer never gets a head that lasts its very light in carbonation
This makes sense given their devotion to aggressively pouring their beer!
Yet to try the Budvar dark which I’m really keen to try cause not found it anywhere. Kept checking Lidl but no 🥲 I’ll try home bargains . The Krombacher dark sounds lovely.

Cheers buddy! Yeah it's certainly worth a go if you can get it. As I said, my position on it is probably skewed due to having had such brilliant pints of it on tap. If you're ever in Notts, head to The Kilpin and grab a pint, it's a beauty!
