    I remember the feeling I had when my G.E. Smith telecaster first arrived way back when. I had the same nervous feeling right before opening the tweed case and thinking either “I’m not worthy,” or “what if it sucks?”, or a combination of the two.
    Sounds great. Congrats!

I just got my 70s touring band back together after 42 years, a true miracle, I'll show this to them, and they'll be as happy as I am to see someone cool get a great instrument.

    Bradley, what a lovely instrument, I'm very fond of Fender guitars. My holy grail Fender is a 2017 Fender American Elite Stratocaster,(HSS), ash body, three color sunburst with a maple fretboard, and it's also an amazing guitar. I got the cool leather Fender strap too, as well as the typical case candy you get with the higher end Fender guitars. I have my radar up for a good Telecaster, probably the American Preformer Telecaster. My American Elite Stratocaster has a compound fretboard radius, 10"-14", and a compound neck shape from a C to a D. I absolutely love the feeling of the compound neck and fretboard, it feels very natural. Good for you, Bradley, you got to love the smell of a nitrocellulose finish. I adore the smell of it every time I open the case. I don't have a Custom Shop guitar from any manufacturer, but I always buy from the highest quality tier that I can afford. I play mostly fingerstyle these days, and Fenders have a lot chime to them. play her in excellent health my good friend!

    I just went back and watched this whole series. Two things: Nice work and Congrats on your new guitar. I did the exact same thing. I was in a decade long rut due to not committing to a practice routine and I found Robert Baker's channel and purchased some of his courses. Shamelss plug, you should check out his Rock n Roll bootcamp. I got WAY better after completing that course. Coincidentally, I ALSO chose Black Dog as a target song for my goal. It's got everything you need as a guitarist. I have never tried the solo though. You're way ahead of me on that. My reward? a Fender Made in Japan mid-90's Foto Flame Nashville Telecaster. It's nice to see someone out there doing the work and celebrating their accomplishments. Happy for you man. Take care!

    How cool. I've owned a lot of different guitars, including many high end ones. Aside from my Gibson 335, I've come around to wanting only wanting 2 other electrics: a 60's style tele and an ash/maple broadcaster style. Teles are the best guitars ever made! I love the guitar you've built here, I love sherwood green! When you held it to your ear, I could hear the deep resonance. Always a good sign. Congrats man!
    EDIT: Can you give any info on these pickups? I can see the construction of them, but I'm curious how they sound compared to other tele pups

    • @stuffandthingsyoutube
      @stuffandthingsyoutube  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for watching! The pickups are hand-wound Custom Shop '63 Tele pickups. To my untrained ears, they seem to be mellower than the V-Mod pickups that were in my American Pro Tele. They're still spanky and bright in the bridge position, but maybe a little more rounded and vintage-y. I really like them!
