- You have to see it to believe it. A Texas woman says a snake fell from the sky, wrapped around her arm, then tried biting her face. All the while, a hawk swooped down and tried grabbing the snake off her arm. FOX 26's Matthew Seedorff met with the woman who says she's thankful to be alive.

Exactly! I found a fish laying in our yard once no doubt dropped by a bird of prey. Next time I mow on our tractor, I will be thinking of this woman's horrible experience and looking UP.
Chances of getting killed by falling snakes is slim to zero, but NEVER zero. In positive notes, chances getting saved by Hawk was slim to none, but never zero.

My grandpa has a chihuahua and let her go outside, well a hawk swooped in and grabbed it and the dog freaked the f*** out making the hawk drop it just a few feet off the ground. This was in ft worth. Those things don’t mess around out there. 😅😂

Hawks are smart! I waved at one that was flying 3 blocks away and he made a bee-line towards me and began circling right over my head while I kept waving "Hello I love you" at him!
Funny that the same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. It surprised me that the hawk saw me from such a great distance and then flew closer, circling round to take a closer look.

As an Uber driver, I had someone driving the exact same car as me, with the same first 3 letters of the license plate, pull in front of me and parked right where the person I was sent to pick up was standing.
A good guess would be that the hawk dropped the snake, and came down to retrieve it.

There are a lot things we don't know or understand. I was once in Laos. In most of the far East the people tend to be short, but in the particular area I was in the average height of males and females was almost seven feet tall. There were five mountain ranges taller than Everest and we visited one that was so cold that no living thing could survive for more than two hours. No plants, animals or anything. As we reached the top in a tour bus we got a punctured tire and were stranded for over three hours. Lucky to get out alive. Some of the lakes are wider than they are long and don't get me started on the species of wildlife. Funny old world, eh ?

The hawk was already locked onto the snake for dinner so it swooped down and grabbed it, even disregarding it’s fear of humans.
That Hawk did the damage to her arm, it just wanted it's food back that it dropped from above while flying by. 🤔🤔 But there's still people trying to figure out where the snake fell from 😂🤣😂

As someone who wears glasses I gotta say, that's the first time I've actually seen glasses stop something from getting to your eyes. You'd think they would protect you more but most things miss your glasses entirely and get into yours eyes somehow. I guess a snake is a little bigger than most stuff flying at your eyes though :p
As someone who frequently has snakes falling on them, my prescription lenses always protect my eyes.

Ouch, this brings back pangs of guilt. When I was 13 we were camping in the Jemez Mts in NM. We had invited some friends and some of their extended family.
Well, I was a typical boy when was fascinated by small critters I could catch and sneak home as a pet.
Well, I had caught a baby black racer the size of a large earthworm. Non poisonous. He was all wriggly and squirmy, so I kept him cupped in my hands. I couldn’t resist showing him off.
I went to show him to one of the guests and picked the worst person to show it to. As soon as I opened my hands even a little it darted out and fell on her neck.
Turns out she had a phobia about snakes having been bitten on the face once as a child.
Yes, I got in a lot of trouble. I just thought the snake was cute. Never dawned on me that anyone could think otherwise. But seeing how terrified she was I still feel bad about it after almost 50 years.
I’m one of nose with a huge phobia, it would have freaked me out even. 50 yrs later. 🤷🏻♀️
As a delivery driver I know how that hawk felt after realizing he delivered to the wrong address

The hawk was carrying the snake to it's nest, when it managed to fall from it's grip. I've seen it firsthand. I was slowed in a line of cars due to road construction, with my driver's side window down. To my left was a hawk carrying a snake it just caught, coming towards me, trying to gain altitude, but the weight of the snake was proving too much. It managed to clear my car with the weight, and boy was I relieved. This was very similar to this event, and I'm sure this is what happened.
Sounds about right actually. Quite crazy that she got caught in the middle of it for sure.
I used to work for the forest service. One day we got a memo stating that we would all be required to wear hard hats in the yard because a hawk had dropped a fish on an employees head. The hard hats were a joke but the fish really happened. Its not that uncommon. Although the snake certainly adds to the mess.

I have had a hawk fly over me with a snake in its talons before. Yes, I am in Texas.
It was a red shouldered hawk carrying food back to the nest for its chicks. The nest was in a pine tree along the road I was walking along. The nest was known to me, but I had never seen lunch being delivered before. Quite the surprise to see the shadow go by me on the ground and look up to see what was really happening.
Holy crap, this is crazy. The closest life experience I have to this, is working at a future cellphone tower site, when we saw birds flying overhead. We had training, saying that if the birds were eagles or ospreys, we had to leave the site, to avoid interrupting their mating cycle, because they are very protected species. While working, we heard a thump/bang sort of noise, and were naturally curious. Looked around, found nothing. Then the helper was sent to the storage box to get some material for the work we were doing.
We all heard him say "UGGHHHH" and came to investigate. Apparently, an osprey had flown over our jobsite, carrying a portion of fish it had caught. Somehow, the fish was severed, by beak, by talons, I don't know. but half of a fish landed on our jobsite, and by chance, landed square on the edge of our job box storage container. It got cut in half again, with half of the guts landing in the container, and half landing outside on the ground. That poor son of a gun had to clean fishguts out of our job container, and I felt bad for him.
Thank you to the hawk for saving her life!

Appears that the Hawk may have dropped the Snake that's why it got involved so quickly, it was retrieving it's dropped dinner off of her arm.
It wasn`t an attack by two separate animals, but most likely that the hawk dropped the snake [which are regular prey to hawks] and came back down to get it.

Yep, agree except that the hawk dropped it on purpose. That's how birds of prey kill snakes. They fly up high and drop the snake to kill it then fly down and retrieve it. That hawk did save her life though. I have no doubt that woman would have died had the hawk not showed up when it did. I hope they let the hawk have his dinner.
I mean, not all snakes are venomous. It sounds to me like the hawk did more damage than the snake did 🤷♀️ that snake was probably terrified after being grabbed by a hawk and then dropped from a large height, which is why it was freaking out and striking at her face. I’m glad she’s okay and although her arm looks majorly tore up, at least she has a crazy story to tell now.
@@nopenope9118 This snake WAS venomous. The woman in a different interview for the News said she had snake venom all over her glasses. The hawk was trying to get the snake off her arm while the snake continually struck at the woman's face. The victim said the hawk came back four times and eventually managed to get the snake off of her and flew off with it. She said the hawk saved her life.

When I was younger a friend found a tiny owl and put it in a box. It was in pretty bad shape he asked me to put my finger in its claw, it felt like it was going to tear the end of my finger off! I screamed so loud it let go. It didn't even get its claws in me just the crushing strength was incredible.
OMG, the Hawk had hold of the snake and dropped it accidentally on her. The snake was afraid so it started to attack. Then the Hawk came down to reclaim its meal, in the process, saved the sweet woman.

If it wasn't a poisonous snake, the hawk did not save her. A non-poisonous snake ain't gonna exactly kill you. The odds are it was non-poisonous, as they are far more common.

Last year a hawk carrying a really big rattlesnake snake in its talons flew right over me in Colorado, I was thinking to myself I hope he has a good grip on that snake as he approached.
