- Cpl. D. Carpenter (B-45) assists Independence County Sheriff S. Stephens (101) in pursuit of a Chevrolet Blazer near Charlotte.
I love that bit at the end when a lady came up to help thinking it was a traffic accident. "No maam, this was not an accident". Nothing accidental about that, this was surgical. Good job Troopers.
Her response was even better: "Oh, OK."

I love the way he walks by and casually looks over at the motor lying in the road and then checks his car for any scratches and reports "just some minor damage".....Classic!!!!
It is so sad that the pretty white fence was damaged, as well as the nice grass.
That Blazer Disintegrated, The Engine was in the Road 50 Feet ahead of the crash site !
Kudos to the ASP for getting that flimsy contraption off the road and to the wrecking yard!
This one came with the Quick Release engine option.
Soup cans are a much better use for that metal.

it always blows my mind how many people don't know to move the F over when an emergency vehicle it running with lights and sirens going. Doesn't matter if police, fire or ambulance people need to make room.
Sometimes I think it’s on purpose. How can you be that oblivious to your surroundings?
Yeah I think a lot of them do it on purpose too. But I noticed when he starts to move into the middle lane or area of the road first they usually move over quickly, but if he drove up right behind them they seemed to hesitate. I think it’s because a lot of them think I’m not doing anything wrong why is he pulling me over.

It always blows my mind when people think you're supposed to just violently pull over into a steep ditch with wet grass because a cop is riding your a** with zero room for you to slow down and about 4 seconds from the time the cop flies up behind you at 110mph😂😂😂

Even though I’m doing the speed limit & vehicle is legal, when I pull over for those lights & sirens, I breathe a sigh of relief when they pass me by!!

This illustrates what I've said for years. You don't necessarily have to push the car from the side for a successful PIT. All you have to do is just push straight from the back, keeping the accelerator floored. If the perp deviates away from anything other than straight.... even the slightest bit will cause a PIT.
This maneuver is still risky because the pursued can make a sudden stop with worse consequences for the patrol unit.
Plus so many have trailer hitches that could do a lot of damage to a LEO vehicle or get hooked by it.

This guy had towing arrangement, which can be used to "catch" the car with a pushbar without going to it's side. Also this "bricks" shock are blown, a little tap off center was enough for this suv to completely loose control. A perfectly executed pit spins the car ideally to 180 degrees, which is not the case here, but whatever, they stopped him without involving anybody else in the wreck.
@@guirolain2319 You are correct. Just like when a perp tries to brake check the cop, he has to be careful. However, once he has contact, there is no impact if the perp slams on the brakes, but instead like slowing down a much heavier vehicle. And if the perp deviates just a little while braking, the cop cars inertia will push the perp car off its center of gravity/rotational mass and cause it to skid/crash.

Complete engine block and torque converter available for free. Small oil leak. Easily repairable. Local pickup. Bring engine hoist or two strong backs.
Great safety inspection. A little love kiss and that thing flew off the road. That thing was a hazard to everyone on and around the roads, thanks you officers.
I liked the engine smoldering on the other side of the road.
Perfect high speed pit. Seems like pulling over might have been a better option.

ASP troopers are amazing....they drive those country roads like Hell, pit like champions.....need more all over the nation.
They must have a second fleet of cars to keep them going, they do not hesitate to do what it takes.
Arkansas State Troopers are the best. You can run from them, but persevere until you are captured! They are always polite, respectful and professional.
Where I live in OK we pull over at the first sound of a siren - ambulance, police, fire, any of them. As far as possible without going in a ditch.

I glance at my rearview mirror every few seconds. Who are these morons who either don't see, or do and just don't g.a.d. and not pull over? They should be recorded by the leo's dash cam and ticketed. They impede the expediency of the apprehension of the suspect. Gouge at me all you want. but there are a lot of innocent drivers out on these roads with children on board in the line of fire of these wacko drivers who will do anything to not get caught.

The great majority of vehicles either pulled off the road or kept going but got over best they could except a van and a couple Dodge pickups that stood out. Considering very little shoulder available I think folks did pretty good.
First and foremost I want to nominate Trooper Carpenter for the award for most perfectly executed pit maneuver ever!! That thing was grace in motion.

Quite an awesome, more death-defying PIT that left the SUV broken almost in half, but that was also a beautiful white fence on that property! When the criminal gets settled in prison, bring him back over here to this PIT site and make him repair that white fence as part of a community service deal with the judge!
Question I've had about these a few times. The trooper punted the guy off the road and into that white fence and it looks like he took out about 20-30 feet of fence or more. Who pays for that? Do they go after the perp for restitution, is the ASP on the hook for it, or is the homeowner just SOL and has to hope his insurance covers it?

What’s so hard about looking in your near view mirror seeing and hearing flashing blue lights with sirens approaching and getting out the way.
All these assholes who won't pull over....they should examine this footage and get the license plate and send an arrest team to each one with a warrant for Failure to move over for emergency vehicles. Obstruction of justice, Hinderance of a LEO, Aiding and abetting, Criminal stupidity and Delay of game.
