Civic 1.8 AC Compressor Replacement

  • 2010 Honda Civic with a 1.8 liter 4 cylinder. They had it diagnosed at another shop and they said they needed a compressor and a belt. They were spot on with this. The compressor clutch was completely destroyed.

    How did you get that torx screw off the old compressor? Mine is really stuck on there.

    Why did you drain the oil from the new compressor?

      I drain it to be sure that the correct amount is in the compressor. Sometimes it has the correct amount and sometimes they do not.

      If you are talking about the screw that holds the line on, I used an e-torx socket to remove. Normally one that size is fitted to a 1/4'' ratchet but I used an adapter to use a 3/8" ratchet.
