She is very talented but these days she doesn't have to play much but usually plays one or two songs live in open tunings which require only one finger to fret the chords that's how she gets round it these days. It just limits her to pretty much only major chords but that's all she needs on the songs she plays on. I believe she can play some banjo too which is kinda the norm for folks from her generation in the Smokey mountains of Tennessee.

'Wings of Pegasus " smiled throughout his viewing as he usually does; commenting "It's her style!" I'D SAY FAKING , and also her RHYMING is evident of her total persona.
" and makin' fun of me, ME, and my coat of many colors, that mama made for ME" is what other songwriters call a
Cheap Rhyme---For a professional writer to do this, it's a cop out-because RHYMING the word "Me" with the word again used, "ME"
is a cheap shot-She could have easily found a better word/phrase to rhyme with the word ME., again; don't you think?
After all, this is the composer who wrote "Islands in the Stream" and could stretch out the word "I" (will always love you ett., ) all the way to Whitney
Houstin's studio, right ? Of course, "ME" seems to be her favorite word.
When you put the CAPO on the strings become closer together; She couldn't function in this manner without a capo; They say she "plays" three musical instruments; I dont' call this "performing" on guitar, I call it using the guitar for an easy back-up. Wonder why she won't do a violin solo with her NAILS? Can't find the three instruments still.
SO BEAUTIFUL back then too, NATURALLY. Wish she had stayed that way instead of resorting to all the make-up and adding lip liners ! NATURALLY BEAUTIFUL PERFORMER...
but resorting to a cheap shot rhyme!
      Sorry, Dolly-but check it out.

She often uses open tunings, so she would just barre the fret, though this one looks like G,C, and D in standard tuning capoed up, and she is just carefully fretting one or two notes of the chords, usually the bass notes.

    • @mrjasondylan
      @mrjasondylan Před 3 lety +1

@eric kowalski she barred all 6 strings on her fretting hand with one finger flat on the strings instead of fingertips so her nails are not touching guitar except on her right hand but that's a good thing. To do this the guitar is tuned totally different it's tuned open to a chord usually D or E or G .

I've always wondered, did her parents live long enough to see her become successful? I know that her family grew up with very little means. So, I would bet that if her parents lived to see her success in country music, that she took care of them for the rest of their lives. She's got such a huge heart, and a very giving spirit about her. That type of guitar (nylon string) and playing doesnt really require a pick which is more for volume. Ive played guitar for 40 years and learned without a plectrum and still very rarely use one unless im playing electric lead guitar or need volume playing un plugged on acoustic.

Dolly may be known primarily for her singing, or her outrageous fashion, hair and bosom, but that was some excellent technique on the guitar. How many hours of practice do you suppose that took?

She played since young days. I've played 40 years now since I was 10 and have taught many beginners over the years it's very time consuming but your prepared to put in about 3 hours a day say 4-5 days a week you could learn this song a basic version in a couple of months. It's getting the coordination and rhythm down that takes time it looks easier than it is. But I had an 11 yr old absolute beginner young girl playing Knockin on heavens door in about 3 weeks.

"Beauty is AS Beauty Does"...Dolly's an ICONIC PERFORMER, we all agree.Love her IMAGE? And her PEFORMING "LOOKY AT ME, LOOK WHAT I KIN DO" and strength of attitude- i can hardly wait for her to give us a live video of her having her vaccination, either; Surely she'll want to capitolize on $hat: "EXCITING SENSATIONAL NEWS from Legendary American singer-songwriter, actress and philanthropist Dolly in Delusion is donating one million dollars to Covid!"Legendary American singer-songwriter, actress and philanthropist DollyParton net worth is estimated at $600 million. Dolly has earned her wealth through the sales of her albums, musical tours, performances and the royalties received from the album sales. With lots of cash Dolly Parton lives a comfortable lifestyle. In this video we will have a look at 9 expensive things owned by Dolly Parton. We will have a look at her expensive cars, expensive mansions and much more. "(I'm sure dolly won't miss the chance to SHOW us her PERFORMANCE when she takes her vaccine btw.!)HER MASSIVE NUMBERS LIKE FAUCI'S HAVE MADE NO STATISTICAL COMPARISONS NOR GOOD LOGIC-EITHER!
Here's how I, cannot, i.e., will not "LOVE" her: Knowing people who have known her , personally, from Nashville, and the "Exit Inn"... Jim Varney (who really was a devout Christian btw) and his mgr, Joe Lyles told me their friend Carlene Carter Cash had more talent in her little finger than the dolly could muster up to PERFORM in a lifetime! Joe was driving Jim to the set for "Operation Petticoat" back then; If you wanna hear about really being "snubbed", you should have heard what he had to say about Jamie Lee Curtis too! At least Jamie had a producer father who sent her to the right acting schools ! "Snubbed " is just a commonly-accept- part of the LOOK AT ME PERFORMANCE DIVAS, and as her secretary told me back in the 70's when DAN Blocker gave me her A&R Department's number, and I mentioned my song, "Beauty is as Beauty Does", that had been published by Cliffie Stone, and Byron Walls' company, her secretary bragged about how busy dolly was, and how they oughtta change their name to " Extravagant Enterprises", said she didn't really wasn't allowed to "bother" or to "know" dolly, but her pay checks were un---explain-ably large! (Dollars seem to trump sincerity in personality and quality thereof in this business, allot) ,It appears- I saved Joe's phone bill calls to Depoy, Kentucky, Nashville and Hollywood; we termed those "toll calls" back then! (RIP Don Blocker=this guy must have been related TO the famous loving personality who starred on Bonanza-Big, brawny guy!) I always got their first names interchanged/mixed by accident! Two very reputable Christian men in the music business , to which I can refer you, are Larry Faragalli, who left Simi Valley, CA to open the biggest Nashville Store in the 80's,and his friend, Steve Wells, at Manning Hollow Music; Never too late to get a GOOD SONG UN-SNUBBED!
As I remove dolly's retouched old picture from MY song and replace it with Tina Turner's , because she danced as beautifully as she was able to sing, even simultaneously, I submit to YOU-That if dolly doesn't have narcissistic psychological problems, I'll eat my hat! Please stay safe this Thanksgiving, and please think PREVENTIVES and building up the immune system this year, before gambeling on a surprise vaccine ! And if you're still in touch with that "guy" you "knew?" Please send him to our "Devil be Gone With the Wind" and "My Dear Lord, Master of the Universe, Grant us More Time, to Put YOUR Loving Words to Rhyme." Two tell-tales she is a real guitarist: -
    1. She has a capo.
    2. She looks down occasionally at her fretting hand.
One thing that makes me wonder; -
    1. Those nails.
Re. 1. Just kidding; the wigs and nails were not a fail, they were a deliberate choice and served her well.
