How to Change File Extension in Windows 10 / Windows 11 for Multiple Files | Change .png to .jpg

in this tutorial, i am going to show you how to change extensions of multiple files using a simple power shell command.
the command we used in the tutorial:
Dir *.png | rename-item -newname { [io.path]::ChangeExtension($_.name, "jpg") }

I don't think this actually converts the files, it just changes the name type of the file, since the sile size doesn't change when it should.
