  • In this 2022 Kia EV6 Review, I'll tell you why you will love owning this Kia electric car! I'll give you a tour of the Kia EV6 exterior, interior, and more. Of course, we'll talk about the differences between the EV6 vs Ioniq 5. The EV6 goes for a more futuristic and sporty look while the Hyundai Ioniq 5 goes more retro. However, there are other differences between both.
    I'll also give you details on the upcoming Kia EV6 GT, the high-performance version of the EV6 Kia. The model I tested here is the 2022 Kia EV6 GT Line AWD which gets 274 miles on a full charge and does 0 to 60 in 4.6 seconds. The EV6 GT is expected to do it in less than 3.5 seconds. This Kia EV has quickly become one of the most popular additions to the EV world. By the way, if you're wondering - is the 2022 Kia EV6 an SUV? Yes, it is classified as SUV and it is very spacious. How much is the 2022 Kia EV6? Prices start at $40,900 for the base standard range model. But if you want the Kia EV6 range to top 300 miles - you'll have to go for the long-range RWD model. If you've been asking yourself - should I buy a Kia EV 6? Well, let's find out! Of course, we'll also take a look at the Kia EV6 vs Tesla Model Y battle. Not to mention, in this video, we'll also charge a Model Y with the EV6.

    We have the GT trim and can't get enough of it. The sounds the car can make sound great in person. You can change how loud or quiet they are and even use the custom setting which gives you many options. Or just turn it off, either way I think it has every driver's preference in mind. I have mine set to stylish on the quietest setting and it is subdued. Thanks for the great video.

    there is So much tech and value in that car, it looks really sharp from the outside and decent from the inside Except for that damn steering wheel.. Good Lord ,that looks like it belongs on a Yugo from days past.... The fact that this has over 300hp and over 400ftlbs torque should really impress people..it sure does me as im driving my 28yr old 164hp old probe gt ...This car here would just blow my mind in terms of power and tech if i could afford it...and these are just the beginnings of an EV industry switching into high gear.. image whats coming down the line!

    I did some calculations, I drive a ford fusion sport, twin turbo v6. I get roughly 23mpgs in it all highway miles. I drive 20-25 mins for work, generally I fill up once a week sometimes twice depending on what's going on for the weekend. With gas prices soaring around 5$ a gallon it cost me 77$ to fill up on an almost empty tank, over the last 3 months my gas average has been 316 a month, I would technically save 100$ a month from where I am paying now with my loan and gas and calculating charging cost. So while everyone thinks the price tag and loan payment look unaffordable, I assure you there is a good chance you'll be saving money. Unless you're bill free of course or have a way cheaper payment than 410$ a month

  • @DanielMartinez81
    @DanielMartinez81 Před 2 lety +7

    11:00 the KIA EV6 remote smart parking assist is not just "go forward/backward". It can literaly park your car by manouvering it (it turns the stearing wheel, change the gear, accelerate and break) in autonomous mode as if there were a human driver. There are many videos on youtube who show that feature.

    • @omardrives
      @omardrives  Před 2 lety +3

      That is correct it definitely can park it self automatically.

    • @ffakr
      @ffakr Před 2 lety +1

      I'm not super impressed by the autonomous parking in mine. I've only used it to pull in and out of my garage where there's plenty of room for the EV6. It's cluttered aside from the width of the EV6 + maybe 2-3' on each side. I can easily pull the car in myself but remote driving hasn't worked nearly as well. It's particularly bad at navigating around low items, like a box off-to the side on the ground. The only time I tried to pull into my garage with it, I had to pull out and manually park it.
      I don't see a lot of use in it other than pulling out of a parking space if someone else has come along and parked too close to you. You wouldn't want to pull into a spot with it that you couldn't just drive into.
      The EV6 does, supposedly, parallel park itself. I can't say I've gotten it to work yet though.
      You're supposed to push a button near the F-R 'shifter' dial and when you drive by a spot large enough for you, the car will alert you. .. then, something something.. then it'll park for you.
      I've tried it once, but it seems to want you to crawl down a street and it seems awkward if there's other traffic around. I parallel park quite well so it's a bit of a gimmick to me.. seems to require more effort than just parking myself.
      But yes, it will steer in remote driving mode to maneuver around obsticals. There's no gear shifting though.

    • @DanielMartinez81
      @DanielMartinez81 Před 2 lety

      @@ffakr My comment just pretended to make clear that the automous parking feature exist, another thing is how that feature really works.
      I still haven't test the car (my EV6 will be delivered on september), however after watching several reviews, I agree with your comment... Yeah, it can park by itself! However the manouvering is slow and buggy in many scenarios. That will make the users to just park by themselves the most part of time.
      Maybe future updates of the EV6 firmware will improve this features as well as others.

    • @crackheadbiden3273
      @crackheadbiden3273 Před 2 lety +2

      Mercedes has been parking itself both parallel and backing in for 10 years….they have had automated cruise and lane follow for that amount of time as well. It’s not a big deal.

    • @ffakr
      @ffakr Před 2 lety +3

      @@crackheadbiden3273 my EV6’s lane guidance is excellent. I let it drive me home /w cruise control in stop-and-go traffic 8-10 times a week.
      And that’s in an EV that’s about 1/2 to 1/3 the cost of a Mercedes EV.
      I think the democratization of tech is often as or more impressive than the origination.
      What’s more impressive.. early computers that were the size of a room and yet just big calculators, or a modern tablet that’s got the performance of a super computer had just 15-20 years ago?

Whilst the legs fit the feet do not. Because the front seats go almost to the floor you can't stretch out. My wife was glad to get out after only 20 minutes and she is only 5' 4". Sadly that is a deal breaker for us as we do like to go on longish journeys with four people. We told the dealer who said the feedback would be noted so maybe in the next refresh. Otherwise a good car for two people.

    test drove one of these in the UK and before hand was ready to order one. but being 6' 1" I couldn't fit in it. the distance from the lowest seat position to the ceiling is way too small. and even smaller if you have the sunroof option as the head liner protrudes even further into your head space. EV6 is only to be driven by people under 6 foot!

    The tech on the car is great and it looks awesome but a warning if you have bad back,stay away. After a couple hours of driving I was crawling out of the car. I have a back history so this won’t apply to everyone. Just go in knowing that if you’ve got back issues this may exacerbate them. I’ve driven Prius (‘s?) for the last 20 years and never once had a problem. The Kia killed me so much that I had to turn around and sell it at a loss.

    • @ffakr
      @ffakr Před 2 lety +11

      bought one instead of .. because:
      Ioniq5 -> EV6 is sexier, even though I thought the Ioniq5 looked better in person than in photos. Ioniq5 felt more utilitarian.. more like a grocery-getter.. and the Wife liked EV6 more too so it won out.
      ID.4 -> This was our first choice, but we waited for the Ioinq5 & EV6 before committing. Liked the ID.4 overall. Proper roof rails would have been a big plus.. but the Tech was better in the EV6 & Ioniq5. Liked the dash better.. lots of complaints about VW UX, and I wanted the 800V platform.
      Also.. no heat-pump option in the US ID.4s (I heard Canadian models have them) and I live in an area where that's going to be important. AWD Ioniq5s and EV6s have a heat pump.
      Tesla -> EV6 is laid out more like a traditional car, which I prefer. I don't want a car that looks like an Ikea demo space with the demo tv hung sideways. Also.. Tesla build quality concerns (look at the panel gaps on them).. no Tax credit on them anymore.. and,.. I think Elon is a wanker.
      Can't say I seriously considered a Tesla (we never even bothered to test-drive one), but I did check Model Y availability and the colors we'd prefer were showing no availability around us (March 2022) with a delivery time of something like 5-8 weeks for a new build.
      And sure, the dual motor Teslas are a bit faster than the AWD EV6, but the EV6 is already too fast in Sport mode for every-day driving (seriously.. it's just too torquey unless you're looking to hot-rod around). I would have appreciated the slightly longer range, but the EV6 provides enough for us.
      Mustang Mach-e -> Also didn't bother to test drive. I felt the range was sub-par in all but the highest-end models and that was pushing up the price higher than we wanted to go.. and it's a bit too much car-like, and we wanted something with a more useable hatch-space.
      Audi e-Tron -> I wrote them off early on based on price, but with the premium we had to pay to secure the EV6 right after they became available.. it probably was do-able for us. Saw one on the road the other day though and thought the rear end looked kind of.. meh. Overall, I think it's a good looking vehicle, but I think Kia's got the better-looking design.. JMHO.
      Overall.. I bought one because it's got great tech and specs for the price, it drives great, and It's a fantastic looking car inside and out. And, It's got a particularly sexy badonka-donk.
      Oh yea, liked the idea of having the Vehicle-to-Load capability in the EV6 too, but I can't say it's something I expect to use often. Still, nice to have. We did suffer a multi-day power outage a number years back, and it'd be nice to know I could run the furnace and/or refrig in an emergency (already converted my furnace power to a plug so I could run it off a UPS.. though just enough power for piece of mind when I'm on vacation and the cats are at home).
