People that aren’t in the SU fandom will never understand why a shattered orange gem caused so intense and emotional reactions and how important that moment was for the series
I mean your taking a character who would do his best to help others and put himself out their to help save others and fix everything to having him kill someone making his character get flipped on his head. This was great character development in a way showing how far down Steven was in the series however could have been better with the ending but whatever.

Those gem shards that were used to fake her shattering are all fake because they were made from the dirt that she picked up to give pearl a flower and to show her fake gem shards and then she ate it and the shards exploded in her poof to make it look like she was shattered and what you’re saying is in fact WRONG idiot

I’ll be honest I sorta expected jasper to be chill about being shattered and brought back. She kinda follows an ancient warriors code
Well she kinda did no ? She didn't freak out just acknowledged Steven strength
I love how they established the concept of shattering through the whole show. It was worse than just having your body dematerialized, so much so that even in warfare, designing a weapon just to shatter gems was considered horrific.
So when Steven shatters Jasper, we’re properly equipped with the weight to know what that means.
Jasper: “Who will strike first and brand themselves a cold blooded killer?”

The Diamonds did much worse, and she was in the woods chilling by herself and doing nothing wrong and harming nobody. It's Steven who kept running to Jasper begging her to teach him...so how the hell does she have it coming?

I think Steven was getting a buildup of old memories. Even if you try to surpress such feelings, they're still there especially if unresolved. Steven still has lingering negative feelings for Jasper and in the heat of the moment, he'd unconsciously given a blow that he didnt expect to be that powerful. Jasper DID tell him to give it his all, and he did. She said to use all his strength on her because she could take it. But neither of them expected that blow to be enough to kill Jasper, after all, the gem was electrocuted, then exploded, then collapsed onto by a hell ton of rubble and still had enough strength to grab onto Lapis and fuse with her.
Idk, she was a wasted character. She should have had a redemption. Or she should have stayed shattered.
@@Flyranitar She provided negative enforcement of his trauma. Teaching him how to lash out and be wrathful, letting him embrace the violent impulses that his traumas and declining emotional state were causing in him. She's not entirely at fault since she didnt think Steven would actually pull the trigger, but this could have been avoided if she had just kept her mouth shut and left him alone like she originally intended.
Remember this is still the show that started off with steven crying over ice cream...
On that day when "Fragments" aired and even back at the beginning of Future, we knew a dark storm was brewing on the horizon.

I'm also referring to steven literally getting PTSD, I'm talking about how steven had a mental breakdown and turned into a monster in steven universe future, there are plenty of examples however there is no denying it. Steven universe in a nutshell is basically a serious adult drama masquerading as a kids show. There is only one other show I know that's like that and that's gravity falls.

dude i cried during this scene. i knew that he would be able to fix it but that was one of the most intense things in this show. might not be the most intense contending with his interactions with white diamond a little bit later or before when he got his gem removed but it is up there.

The reactions feel SO much deeper when you know what's going on... the past traumas, the abuse... all leading up to this. It justifies every shriek. The little boy we watched grow up, killed someone in cold blood.
The thing that hit hard was that he never wanted to be like his mother, but ended up being worse.

When we were first introduced to white diamond,We didn’t know a lot about her,only that she was the fourth ruler of homeworld ,And Notice when Yellow even said her name,everybody just Had that look of fear. They were all terrified of her. Now everybody loves her,She helps new gems and Era 1/2 gems to get used to the new protocols and rules. She became a good leader
When we were first introduced to Steven,he was your classic adorable hero main Character that we all love. He Helped every Gem that was banned from homeworld and those who were corrupted from the diamond attack ,He put everyone first,and that’s a true hero,but as time went on,He went down and down,From saving his home planet to almost destroying,From protecting his family,to almost killing not only his family,but his friends too. Notice When Steven talked to white about his problems,He grew bigger while she grew smaller,That actually has a really dark meaning,Steven Grew bigger,But in reality he grew smaller,He Grew from hero to villain,vice versa for white,she grew from villain to hero. Poor steven

Steven pretty much did an Iron Maiden move on Jasper. The pannels on the sides of the wall would enclose onto her crushing her entirely ending in her shattering. One of the main reasons she calls him her diamond is because one of the last things she saw was his diamond eyes.
