What my Judo Sensei told me when I was just a kid growing up in Japan would also apply here to learning the Native Flute: "Yuu masto hyabu za propah tekuniku" Translation: You must have the proper technique. Another practice maxim that my voice teacher in college gave me would also be appropriate here: Only those who have the patience to do simple things perfectly ever acquire the skill to do difficult things easily.

Jonny, I have an Aminor flute but I wonder if a C flute would be better for playing with backing tracks.
There is not any one key that is best for backing tracks. Songs come in all keys. If you are utilizing any of the video tutorials in my online courses, they are all done in A minor, so that would be best for play along and learning with me. If you are thinking a high C flute because your hands are very small, then yes, that could be better until you can work your reach up a bit. Thanks for asking!

what machine do you use for reverb and delay etc.?
Thanks for watching! I use a reverb pedal specifically designed for acoustic instruments on the floor. A good one is the TC Helicon Voice Tone R1.
