Fantastic... Daigo plays very good. He's not only spamming Hadoukens, otherwise he would be punished by jumping counters. He was protecting his head with tatsumaki senpuu kiakus and air kicks, he also tried to trap his adversary with straights, along with the hadoukens. The second round was also great when he was near to lose and gone to attack fearsomely.

Awesome match! Great counters on both of them.
Both did their best, but... DAMN! I guess this is a small, but good reason why Daigo got his nickname, "The Beast". It felt like the player controlling Balrog gave the first round to Daigo when he mistimed his offense and ended up swallowing more Fireballs than he should have. The second round looked like the Balrog player was going to turn the tables, but it was all but wasted when he gave Daigo the smallest of breathing spaces to counterattack. All in all, a real good show. Kudos to both.

SF4, Marvel 2/3/Ultimate, SF2 (all games), and many other fighters have unblockable setups. For most unblockables you need to hit them on the 1st frame of their wakeup, or hit them with a high and low within 2 frames of each other.

You have to give some credit ti the guy using Balrog, It's not easy to use that character, he just couln't find the short distance in time. Of course Daigo did a remarkable job getting out of that situation. But it would have been interesting to see a rematch.

but... some characters do have unblockable set ups... such as Claw Off The Wall grab loops. Also, the correct term would probably be Cross-ups. Also, technically zangief's and t-hawk's safe jump command grab are also technically unblockable if you don't know how to option select. A crossover is something like Marvel vs Capcom.

It's not exactly unfair. When you choose to play a character that excels at melee range you have to deal with the hardships that come by facing ryu. It's not like he didn't know what he was gonna have to deal with. And balrog has the highest base damage in the game, so reaching your opponent is rewarding.
