A punch hits the bag up, making an effective lever. A kick hits the bag down, which works against the lever, leading to a lower score.

Point of contact (whether flush, askew or short) will certainly cancel out momentum ,post contact generally is result of effect , up or down motion at point of contact is irrelevant to what type of force exerted... A hit is a hit, be it 1000psi or 500... His technique is flawless and pretty much had his score up there, average his number of hits, it's quite ruthless regardless of him trying to hit harder , but we have limits on how much power we can expend due to fitness, diet, emotions, physique etc... Kick like that to your head?,better brace yourself if your cant avoid it...

The inertia is parallel to the leverage of the bag. So ergonomically it will resist friction. Thus turning it against its own energy.

hes using a muay thai round house kick the mechanics don't allow for enough velocity. he should use the more linear tkd kick and instead of trying to come down on it should slice through it.
Stefan Kovacevic i don't know about the machines wiring but you get more power and speed from tkd kick mechanics. bren fosters round house was clocked at 136 mph and 2300 pounds of force.
